  1. No torch in my 2022 SE Drive. Check to make sure you get the holders that fit on the back of the front seat headrests so rear passengers can put a tablet on them. Also the plastic things that velcro onto the boot floor to hold bits and pieces in place. I removed mine as I didn't need them but they should come with the car. I had the gunge kit but took it out and bought a spacesaver spare and jack. A full size spare wheel won't fit (too deep).
  2. Not had the Karoq that long so still getting used to it. One thing I have noticed is that if my windscreen wipers are set to intermittent and I turn the ignition off, the wipers park themselves as you would expect. When I return to the car and start it up, the wipers don't come on even though the stalk is still set to the intermittent position. I have to put the stalk into the off position then back into the intermittent position before the wipers will start. I didn't have this with my previous Fabias and Octavia so is it something peculiar to the Karoq? Or do I have a fault? By the way, the wipers are not set to come on automatically when it starts to rain and I don't have this problem when the wipers are set to continual wipe. Thanks.
  3. My son has a 2017 facelifted Octavia S. Yesterday we finally got round to looking at why the rear washer doesn't spray onto the rear screen (the rear wiper works fine). Following advice on this forum we removed the front nearside wheel and liner to expose the fluid bottle and pump. We disconnected the pipe from the pump to the rear washer and tested that the pump was working OK. It sprayed fluid from the pump fine so we reconnected the pipe. We then removed the nozzle from the rear washer/wiper and tested again but nothing came out although we could hear the pump working. There is clearly an obstruction somewhere in the pipework. We had a good look inside and underneath the car and in the boot to check for leaks but everything was dry. My questions are: Is there anything between the pump and the rear nozzle which could be broken e.g. a secondary pump or some kind of valve? If so where is it and how easy is it to get at? How is the pipework routed from the front to the back of the car and again how easy is it to get at? Is there a common spot where blockages could build up in the pipework and, if so, where is it? Has anybody any suggestions where we go from here as this may be an MOT failure (but not sure). Many thanks.
  4. Recent Karoq owner having come from an Octavia SE 2018 with a couple of questions: How do I stop the message about 'share my location' coming up every time I start the car? I know how to change it but can't find a way to stop it appearing in the first place. Also how do I delete the destination history from the sat nav? All help appreciated.
  5. I bought a 1.0 litre Karoq SE Drive manual mid January having traded in a 1.0 litre Octavia. The 1.0 litre engine is fine on both round town and longer distance journeys. Fuel consumption will be better than the 1.5 litre and insurance is cheaper too.
  6. I bought my Octavia SE 1.0 litre in August 2019 when it was coming up to a year old. I had to think long and hard before part exchanging it for a Karoq SE Drive a few weeks ago. The Karoq is also just over a year old. I have to say that the Octavia was probably the best car I have ever owned. I have had many Fords in the past. My previous 4 cars have been Fabias but for all round comfort, space, performance and reliability, the Octavia was the best (even with the 1.0 litre engine). My only problem was the rear washer kept getting bunged up but apart from that, no problems. Once the car was out of warranty I avoided main dealer servicing. My local independent did the oil and filter changes with me providing the genuine VW spec oil. As part of the trade in deal, I removed the full size spare wheel and toolkit with the intention of putting it into the Karoq or selling it (I thought it might not fit which it doesn't). I'll put it on ebay in the next few days. I bought a skinny spare and tools which fit the Karoq perfectly. A gunge kit is little more than useless in my opinion. So far the Karoq has been fine. Getting in and out is much easier than the Octavia but you would expect that. The Karoq forum has answered a few queries I had, how the automatic handbrake works being the most important. I'll keep an eye on the Octavia forum in case I am able to contribute to the discussions. Thank you.
  7. Had my Karoq a few weeks now having come from an Octavia with a manual handbrake (you knew where you stood with that). The above explanation of how the automatic handbrake and autohold work and differ from each other has cleared up some confusion in my mind. So thank you for that.
  8. Pinkpanther. Thank you. I managed to find the 4 different privacy settings but whichever I choose, I keep getting a warning message telling me which setting I have selected when I start the car. It is this warning message I want to get rid of as it is annoying. Does anyone know if the message can be disabled and, if so, how? Thank you.
  9. I recently bought a Karoq. I checked the tyre pressures after a few days and found all were at 2 bar when they should have been at 2.5 bar. I sorted this out myself. I don't think the dealer deliberately deflated the tyres - the car was their demonstrator and had obviously not been looked after to my standards nor had they done their so called 100 point pre delivery checks. I think this is typical of main dealers, not just Skoda ones. They simply can't be trusted.
  10. I keep getting a message on the radio screen saying 'Data transfer is currently set to 'Share my position'. You can find what this setting entails and how to change it in the control centre'. No matter what I change it to, the relevant warning message keeps appearing on the screen. Is it possible to disable it and if so, how?. Many thanks.
  11. Thank you to everyone who replied to my posting yesterday on removing the aero wheel trims on my new Karoq and replacing them with wheel nut covers and wheel centre caps. I ought to have asked this new question yesterday but didn't - apologies for that. Anyway, the dealer has agreed to me removing my spare wheel from the Octavia I am trading in next week and putting it into my new Karoq. The Octavia full size spare wheel is fitted with 205/55/R16 tyres. The Karoq's wheels are fitted with 215/55/R17 tyres. Both are 5 studs. Will the Octavia spare wheel fit onto the Karoq and will the wheel physically fit into the Karoq's spare wheel well? I know I can buy a skinny spare for the Karoq but would like to avoid the expense if I can. Apologies once again for not raising this yesterday. Thanks.

  13. I have traded in my Octavia for a December 2022 Karoq SE Drive today and I have a couple of questions please. The aero wheel trims on the Karoq don't look that good to me and I am thinking of replacing them with those plastic covers that fit over the wheel nuts and the Skoda plastic centre caps for the wheels. I've seen on the Fabia forum that some owners have done this on their cars. Does anyone know the part numbers for the wheel nut covers and the centre caps please and where is the best place to get them ? a Skoda dealer. I will transfer my dash cam from the Octavia to the Karoq. It has a backup battery which is presently hard wired to the fusebox (I think to the heated rear screen or maybe rear wiper feed but not sure). It charges only when the ignition is on. Which is the best fuse to piggy back off in the Karoq please? Also where is the fusebox and how do I get at it? Many thanks.
  14. I managed to remove the nozzle by following the video above. Getting the nozzle off was difficult so I threaded some binding tape underneath it and pulled it off. But it wasn't easy and putting the nozzle back on wasn't easy either as it is a very tight fit. Anyway job sorted and thanks for the useful advice.
