  1. I picked up a pre reg Karoq three weeks ago. The deal (running from July to September 2026 I believe) was a payment of £249 from myself. In return, I got 2 services in March 2027 and March 2028, a £400 dealer contribution towards the cost of the car, 2 years roadside assistance from the date of purchase and 2 MOTs when due. Before buying, I confirmed with Skoda Financial Services that I would not lose the incentives if I paid off the HP agreement within the first 14 days. I did this after a few days and have since received written confirmation from Skoda that the incentives are still valid. A stupid way to do business if you ask me but the arrangements are set by Skoda and you have to work things to your advantage.
  2. My experience of the major tyre fitting places is that they don't want to do a repair. Instead they want to fit a new trye even though the faulty one is repairable. I always go to my local independent tyre fitting place which is more or less within walking distance. Never had a problem with them.
  3. My local independent did mine on my previous Karoq. It was something like £35 if I remember correctly. Skoda dealers simply don't deserve our custom except for warranty work.
  4. I bought a space saver spare wheel from the Wheel Shop when I got my Karoq with 17" wheels. I was confused over which size spare to buy so rang them. They advised me to buy the 18" space saver which I did. I have used it a couple of times without any problems. I am changing my car tomorrow for another Karoq which has 18" wheels and intend putting the 18" spare I bought from the Wheel Shop in that car. Anything bigger than 18" will not fit in the wheel well nor will a full size spare without lifting the boot floor higher. You don't get the foam surround for the various tools but they fit neatly into the fabric bag supplied. This fits into one of the storage compartments in the boot. I found the Wheel Shop good to deal with and helpful. Hope this helps.
  5. Look at 'the wheel shop' web site. They supply spares together with a jack and wheel wrench but not the foam surround although you do get a bag to put everything in. I have found them very helpful and far cheaper than Skoda.
  6. I've had the software update message as well more or less everyday for the past month or so. I select update now but it doesn't seem to do anything. The message just comes back the following day. The software on Skodas doesn't seem to work very well at all.
  7. If the car is under some kind of warranty which covers the gearbox, it either works properly or it doesn't. If it doesn't work properly, it is irrelevant whether the solution is a clutch pack adjustment or a clutch pack replacement. I had a DSG fabia some years ago which needed a clutch pack replacement when it was around a year or so old. It was done under warranty by a Skoda dealer who said they needed the car for 2 days. At the end of day 1, they rang me to say the work had been done but it was too late for me to pick the car up that evening. For the dealer to say they need the car for a week is a joke as is their attitude in this case. Fight them as far as you can.
  8. Luckypants. Thanks for this very helpful reply. I spoke to one of my sons yesterday who is an avid Tesla fan who does do long distances now and again. He was of much the same opinion. Your comment on not moving to an EV tariff is interesting. I may well buy a smartphone but will have to get my son to set everything up for me should I buy the Elroq. It will certainly be beyond me. Thanks again.
  9. I have a 1.0 litre Karoq at the moment and am thinking of buying a nearly new Elroq SE50. My annual mileage isn't that much (around 5,000 miles per year), mainly around town with the odd motorway journey of around 200 miles each way maybe once a year. The Elroq is a few months old with around 1,500 miles on the clock. My questions are: Will I be OK with the 50SE given my low annual mileage or do I need a car with a bigger battery? Not being a technical person, is it likely to be beyond me to use a public charger on my longer journeys? I don't have a mobile phone so will have to buy one. Is there anything I need to look out for when I test drive the car next week? Thanks to all.
  10. In my opinion no. I have a 1.0 Karoq and am very please with it. Probably the most comfortable car I have owned. Provided the cheaper one has been regularly serviced, I would go with that. When you eventually come to sell, you will not get 3000 euros more for a car that is one year younger. Hope this helps.
  11. I have a 2022 Karoq 110PS which will need the spark plugs changing soon. I have looked at a couple of on line retailers but they quote different thread lengths for their plugs against my registration. These are 20.5mm, 26.5mm and 28mm. I don't want to fit the wrong plugs so am asking advice on which is the correct plug length for my car? I believe NGK plugs will have been fitted by Skoda originally so will be looking to stay with NGK if I can. Many thanks.
  12. Yes the rear seat trays have a particular 'knack' at being lowered. Easy when you know how.
  13. I recently read that the SEAT Ateca (the Karoq's sister car) has been discontinued in the UK. It is still being produced for the Spanish market but in one trim level only. Is it likely that the Karoq will follow suit in the next 12 months or so?
  14. Depends on how you look at it. I was offered the 'all in' plan for my Karoq recently. Paying the best part of £1,000 to cover the next 2 years is, in my opinion, a rip off compared to using an independent and/or doing most of the service work yourself. I have always felt that these kind of offers are for the benefit of the dealer/manufacturer and not the customer. But if you are happy with it, go for it. Your choice.
  15. I bought mine from here (also for a 1.0 litre Karoq). I keep the tools in the supplied bag in the cubby hole in the boot so no foam inserts needed. Used a couple of times and worked fine. I have a feeling (but can't be certain) that the spare wheel was stamped with the VAG logo but don't quote me on that. www.thewheelshop.co.uk
  16. I was looking over the weekend how to reset the service indicator on my 2022 Karoq. It seems to have similar screen images as your Scala. I came across this Youtube video for a Kodiaq. I tried it on my Karoq and it worked. It may work on your Scala. Let us know how you get on.
  17. I also had an invite to a VIP event which I binned. Clearly simply a sales tactic. My attitude is that I will visit the showroom when it suits me and will buy on my terms. Nowt wrong with that.
  18. Given the number of problems you have stated, I'd be inclined to reject the car. I'm not sure if you have to give them one chance to put the problems right but given the extent of them, the car cannot be considered fit for purpose. I would write to them now stating that you have rejected the car and ask them to supply you with another one or give you a full refund. This may get them to book you in with a courtesy car more quickly but be prepared to go through with the rejection. You simply shouldn't have to put up with this build quality.
  19. Was in my local (North West) Skoda dealers this week. They had an offer on for air con regas for £75. I'm not sure if this is a national campaign or specific to them. If you decide on a regas, it's probably worth checking the price at your local dealers. But as they say, if it's working leave it alone.
  20. I bought a spare wheel, jack etc on line from the wheelshop close to Manchester. No problems with them giving me advice and delivery was quick. Although my car has 17" wheels and tyres, they advised me to go for their 18" spare. This fits nicely in the skinny wheel well but I don't have the foam inserts. I keep the tools in the bag supplied with the spare which sits in the right hand cubby hole in the boot.
  21. Before you put the wheel back on, put a bit of copper grease (only a very small amount) around where the alloy wheel and the steel hub meet. This will make life much easier when you have to remove the wheel next time.
  22. I had exactly the same problem about a year ago. I ordered the quoted Bosch blade on line but it was the wrong fitting. After a bit of an argument, the supplier gave me a refund. I then ordered the correct Bosch wiper from my local independent car parts supplier on a Friday morning. They looked it up on their computer and showed me a photograph of it on screen. They didn't have it in stock but got one in for me by the lunchtime. So Bosch certainly do a replacement rear wiper for a 2022 Karoq which is A335H. Everywhere else was quoting the A331H fitting which is incorrect.
  23. Just make sure the wheels from the ex demonstrator are in perfect condition and have been cleaned on the face side and the inside properly. You wouldn't want wheels that have been damaged by the many people who have driven the ex demonstrator in the past or by sales staff who quite often take these cars for their personal use (and who aren't in the slightest bit bothered about damage they cause to them).
  24. Sorry I don't know the paint code but the colour as marketed by Skoda is cappucino beige. I had this on a Fabia a few years ago and liked it. Hope this helps you.
