Upper Passenger Storage Compartment and Towbar issue
silver1011 replied to hanf's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
Just to add to this, my towbar stuck again, the dealer provided me with the part number for VAG's 'special grease', it is G052172A1. It's called Krytox and is very expensive, especially given the bottle is only 30ml. It seems to be aimed more at convertible roof and sunroof mechanism squeaks than tow bars, but it is the stuff listed on the tow bar TPI. I used a tube of silicone grease instead. On my back, with the tow ball released it's pretty clear where the grease needs to go. swinging the tow ball up and down several times whilst working the grease into the joint seems to have done the trick. -
Mechatronic unit failure .. :(
silver1011 replied to Angeline's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
From the ones on the Skoda groups on Facebook, the mechatronics failures seem completely disconnected to whether they’ve been serviced or not. -
Purchase Skoda’s All-in plan, 2 services, 2 MOT’s, 2 year warranty and 2 years breakdown, £700 or £30 per month.

Retrofit LED headlights or LED bulbs
silver1011 replied to Nearlybald's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
Wait for the right Kodiaq to come along. Avoid the SE and find an SE L with standard LED headlights. -
Run a Google image search for ‘Kodiaq Light Bar’, there are lots of pictures for inspiration.

Maximum engine speed 4000rpm
silver1011 replied to Andre1984's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
You posted the fault code on Facebook, as advised there, it suggests a faulty PCV value, a relatively well documented issue on the 1.5 TSI. It’s booked in at the dealers under warranty, let them do their work… -
Routing rear dashcam cable V2
silver1011 replied to thedavegray's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
My Skoda main dealer retrofitted the reversing camera, and they lifted the plastic sill covers with ease. They’re largely held in place by the rubber door seals, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about… -
What does the sticker on the slam panel under the bonnet say? I wouldn’t go by the manual, they’re only accurate at the point they’re printed. I am also a believer that the wider use of 0W20 and 0W30 oils are primarily to improve emissions and / or economy, not engine or component longevity. I’ve no idea what oil the dealer is using in my 2018 1.4 TSI ACT, I meant to ask last week after it’s last service, but forgot. If I was servicing it myself I’d be using VW507.00 Quantum Longlife III (5W30). If your mileage is increasing I am not sure I’m following your logic for moving from fixed to variable service intervals. A fixed interval will remind you for a service after 12 months. Opinion varies, but I’m a supporter of regular annual oil changes.

Multiple threads on this one, but it appears that Bosch have now released the revised Skoda Kodiaq rear wiper blade to fit the facelift MkI Kodiaq… Bosch A284H.

The UK configurator is now live, just the SE and SE L so far, the SportLine is expected later in the year… https://cc.skoda-auto.com/gbr/en-GB/?fbclid=IwAR3r31pCkoMwXRfqUp7FY5Q6aGdsb31LGZfkNS4BV12naTD6Fn141-S1sm0_aem_ASk1BybhRmMl4J0HL88CDqxzreDOMZ4lYvE-NoFviRsp6yyK6s66Q7NaRpkzFoX79OM -

1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
silver1011 replied to Phoenixboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Wish I’d had those screen grabs a few months ago, they’d have supported my case against Skoda UK via the Motor Ombudsman when my Skoda retailer changed my cambelt at 5 years old in July 2023, only a few weeks after that bulletin was released telling them to cancel bookings! -
1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
silver1011 replied to Phoenixboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Not sure where the 10 years has come from. Whilst in typical Skoda UK fashion there is plenty of confusion out there, the 5 year blanket interval has increased to 15 years, no mileage limit. -
For anyone who fancies building a new Kodiaq, the online configurator on Skoda.cz is up and running… https://www.skoda-auto.cz/modely/novy-kodiaq/kodiaq
