For getting cables into the cabin, this grommet on the passenger side is what you're after I expect. On my 2010 model it has a few spare entrances you can utilise, as you can see I've shoved a wire coat hanger into mine to draw a cable through.

SUCCESS – UPDATE: Just had new water pump (and cambelt kit and aux belt) fitted. Overheating solved! Delighted! Many thanks especially to SuperbTWM who put me on the right track in diagnosing the water pump issue. Worth saying, Skoda Aylesford matched the price from another Skoda dealer and was actually less expensive than quotes from two independents (I'd normally go to independents, but I particularly wanted genuine Skoda parts which pushed up independent's quotes a lot - don't like wasting their time but I hadn't expected such a difference, also of course using Skoda prob looks better in my car's service history file).

1.5 won't 'struggle' at all. Just done a round trip to Windsor from Middlesbrough this week, 2 people in the car, fully loaded boot with tools, bags etc.. and a spare wheel. Computer reckons average of 46 MPG on the way down and 52 MPG on the way back, all at approx 74MPH set in the ACC. It will only struggle if you are the type that needs to beat everyone off the line.

So, after 15 years and 9+ months, many modifications and stickers and a lot of money, it’s time to say goodbye to the car. The longer i kept her, the more attached i got and the more pictures i took. It took me nearly a year to take my first picture of her but, towards the end, i was taking pictures of her everytime i went away and whenever we were in a scenic spot. She has been with me to Lands End and John O’Groats, done more than a handful of track days, been towed more times than i’d like to think about and she has been with me through every relationship i’ve had and outlasted them all, apart from my current Fiancée. 😂 The time was now right to move on and break her down after being her only owner and driving 182439 miles (minus the 11 delivery miles she had when i got her). Thank you to everyone that has contributed to my project and helped me throughout the years, i couldn’t have gone this far if it wasn’t for the Brisky spirit, and i did have many times in the past where i wanted to give up on her but having that help has seen me and her keep going. I’ve met many great people from here, a lot of which i consider friends now, and would have liked to go to many more meets but battling social anxiety has stopped me from doing that. i can’t wait to see what the future brings with the Octavia. 😊 Thank You for reading.

Two years running my 1.5tsi DSG Karoq, absolutely trouble free with an average 40 mpg, increasing to 45 plus on a long journey. My third Skoda ( since 2013), previous ones were Octavia diesels, also DSG equipped. I've not needed as much as a new bulb in any of these Skoda's during my time with them and am very satisfied. Previous cars have ranged from BMW's, Mercedes, Fords & VW's, and a Honda Hybrid which had a gearbox fault resulting in a £10k bill ( yes, ten thousand pounds) although Honda "graciously" agreed to pay £6,500 of it because the car, serviced exclusively by themselves, was just two months out of warranty. Needless to say, I changed to Skoda and have never regretted it !

I believe in Germany the plate is registered to the person and not the car so you take your plates with you.

I've never heard off another rebuilding one and it lasting. Personally I'd be looking at swapping a lower miles engine into it if you like the rest of the car.

During the summer shutdown in 2021 (JULY/AUGUST) the production lines will be updated so the new versions will be available in the UK from September 2021 on a 71 plate. You would need to order May 2021 to secure one of these.

I got mine done at 2 years, the service desk didn't even know what it was, nevermind what the schedule was. I've read around online that it should be 3yrs or 30k. It was cheap enough though, so I got it done when getting everything else done on the second service.

Afternoon all, So excited. Put the deposit down on my new to me car today and pick it up Friday!!!, Ive been a member before as I used to have a mk2 Superb. I have always looked on the site to see what’s going on but I’m pleased to say on Friday I pick up a my2015.5 ‘65Reg Superb Combi SE L Executive 2.0 tdi 190 . Its a high miler at 100k but it will have 12months mot and new cam belt kit and water pump done before collection. Look forward to sharing my journey with you. Beerok

The early 150's are not Adblue only the 190's. Mine's a June 2016 registered car and doesn't have it. I think they changed mid-late 2017 on the 150's.

Yours is 300 brake isn't it now? Don't forget the 20 odd mpg when you're towing. That's very handy for travelling the world with a van isn't it! And as someone else has suggested - I wouldn't ever buy a new van - i'd buy one that's a year old and had the warranty work done. My mrs came out with a cracker the other day. She suggested we take our van to Turkey, if we can't get a holiday abroad this year. ffs I can't get my breath some days.

Unlikely to b it, but check the wiring and/or the actual sensor strip located behind the rear diffusor. If correctly fixed, it looks like this, using "x-ray vision". How the actual strip looks, not fixed in position though.

It seems like the answer to the thread title is no. What I should have asked was - is it time for a new pre-cat oxygen sensor? Replacing that seems to have restored correct function, according to a chirpy voice message I just got from its owner, on the road. Fitted and immediately took some logs yesterday, static and on a test drive. Will review the data later, but it felt better if not perfect straight away. Thanks for the suggestions and comments.

Some pictures of my rear discs at 83k miles. Callipers painted, disc edges wire brushed and painted - might stop the corrosion, we shall see! Pads cleared the excess paint off (photos are as fitted, before use).

Well I’m sure I’m not alone with having a bit of a bumpy ride whilst we work our way through this pandemic. I've had quite a lot change over the last few weeks but this project hasn’t died a death and I’m still very much looking forward to getting spanners out and onto the car 😎 there is going to be a few surprises in the next few weeks I’m hoping. I got a message to say my stuff has all been powder coated now so that’s great news 😎 in the mean time I’ve kept myself busy, my S4 has been needing some love as the engine I installed had a leaking head gasket that I wasn’t informed about, and it done my head in, so I set about fixing that, along with taking the bigger k04 turbos off and putting original k03’s back on but rebuilt with new cores. I spent a whole week rebuilding the heads, cleaning the valves and lapping them and then rebuilding them. then stripped my bay down to this. then spent what felt like an eternity cleaning and putting back together to get here. and last few bits to get nearly done. all went back together and drives lovely now, I’ll continue to work on this car but it’s at a position now where I can just jump in, turn the key and go out and enjoy it and have some fun, it’s stage 2 mapped with flat shift and launch so it is good fun 😎 I then had the TT over to fix, if your bored then here is the thread I made on the TT forum, bit of bedtime reading 👍 https://www.ttforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1963363 then I had a mate pop over and wanted his timing belt and service and a few bits doing so set about with that, trying to fix an oil leak and found his camshaft was knackered so he had me replace that 🤣 Please excuse the orientation. old removed new so that’s taken me up until recentlyish, Mondeo is now up for sale, misses didn’t like it and it’s not an estate so I couldn’t use it for work which I was gutted about ☹️

You want about 14V with the engine running not 13V. This might suggest the alternator is not working correctly. Thanks AG Falco

Hello, just signed up after many years as a guest. I bought my 52 plate Fabia 1.4 16v estate 10 years ago, on 67,000 miles. Now 200 miles shy of 168000, with 3 continental driving holidays, 2 booze cruises (taking advantage of that load space 😀) countless staycations, 2 house moves and the usual taxi services a dad provides the teenager (now 21). It’s had a new clutch, a gear box refurb, a new fuel pump, so many ignition coils, but i love it. For longevity it has easily beat my Volvo 940 GL (a 2.3 litre, 1992 saloon, also brilliant, but sadly no longer here). Anyway with your tips and friendship i hope to get this old Skoda past 20 years/200000 miles...at least. And hello again 😀

My problem is that my first house (two up two down terraced in Watford) in 1980 cost £22k & I had to get an £18k mortgage. My disposable income was zero & I thought my world had ended. Back then I was driving a a company Cavalier Mk1 or Mk2 I think with free petrol & limited government tax hits. Those were the days. Now I have to buy my own cars so any car costing more than £23k triggers my inner "not on your frigging life mate" response. As such I'm limited to used 2-3 year old examples at 50% of original list.

In the passenger footwell is a fibreboard cover. Pull it down and to your right are black plastic slides. Push the slides to release the cover to expose the filter. Pull out the filter. There is a film on Youtube in step-by-steps

Yes, as Alex says this applies (mostly) to diesel cars only and the purpose of the regen is to burn away excess soot in the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). Some newer petrol cars have a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter), but GPF regen issues don't seem to be common at present. You should be able to do this with Carista using the VAG DPF app on Android. Many but not all VW group diesel engines are supported in the app, and there is a free version that you can try to see if it works for you before shelling out about £3 on the paid version that gives more detail. It works on my 2015 2.0 TDI with bluetooth Carista and a Lenovo tablet.

The clip is too wide, use a narrower clip which will crush the pipe down into the groove, I see you removed all the white tape filing the groove in the first picture in the closeup third photo so you're on the right track.

Of-course he would say that, he just took 3 seconds to put your car model in the catalog and repeat to you what the page was showing, really helpful of them So the Golf R variant shocks are the same for B4 DampTronic and B8 standard , but somehow not for B6 Damptronic, lol... That web page is so accurate, or shall I say complete, that it only mentions a front B4 model for the Superb, so you can't have the rears if you go for B4 Damtronic I bet someone has been really lazy with the Skoda/Superb entries. I wouldn't think you can resolve this by a quick chat on their page, you would need to involve either some dealer with access to their technical department or contact Bilstein yourself and explain why they share shock numbers in all other series but B6 Damptronic, and also why their site does not list a rear B4 Damptronic but only a front...

It really was very high on my list until last Saturday when I put the Eibachs on. Frankly, a 272 Sportline with Eibachs and a rear arb upgrade, in Sport mode feels almost like a GTI. I got all the extra control and response I could ask for so I just can't justify such an expense (they are rather pricey at around 1300EUR) at the moment. But if/when the stock shocks go, I am definitely replacing them with B6 Damptronic, i'd like to retain DCC modes and they are even cheaper than OEM shocks so, a win-win. That's after I verify compatibility with the Golf R variant models via Bilstein.

Yes I now have 360 horses. TBH, yes it feels different but not 80hp more than stock. I guess thats the very linear power delivery of the re-map & the fact it's going to all 4 wheels - not just 2. Getting to the legal limit was all to easy previously but now, it's like engaging warp speed! Good to know you've got it if you need it. I may have to look into getting the DSG re-mapped to remove the hesitation when you stamp on the loud pedal. And I must start using the Eco mode a bit more often - yeah right 🤣 I used to be an Audi driver (had an A6 Avant for 10 years) - but I saw the light. Audi & BMW are very common cars these days so are no longer appealing to me. I also get a nosebleed when a car costs more than my 1st house😡

So my tts short shift arrived this morning, just fitted it and took it for a drive, all i can say is the gearchange is how it should be from factory in a vrs, i found the oem vrs shift sloppy and far to long between gears, feels perfect to me now, so glad i went for the tts one and not the adjustable ones as for me this is just right.

============= IMPORTANT UPDATE =============== I was investigating further the rear drop, as I was puzzled as to how it ended up being at the exact same height as the front even though I used the 6.5mm thicker rear Audi pads. I mean yes, the even drop front and rear on mine looks very good and sporty but what about people that just install the springs without Audi pads? They shouldn't end up with a whole 6.5mm lower rear end surely?? Turns out I was half-screwed by Eibachs own catalog, well to some extent. For buying my springs I used the "Eibach product catalog 2017" which was available from one of their websites until last year when I also downloaded it, I attach it in this message. There the kit number for 2.0 4x4 is given as: E10-85-042-03-22 comprising of F11-85-042-03-FA front, F11-15-007-04-HA rear. However going on their online part search: http://web2.carparts-cat.com/default.aspx?10=60730C6FF832499EA965D097B657382D279004&14=4&12=100 the kit showing up now for both 280 and 272 is a different one: E10-79-012-04-22 comprising of F11-85-042-03-FA front (same as in the PDF and the one i put on) but F11-79-008-01-HA rear! Weirdly enough, my F11-15-007-04-HA rears have somehow lost 30kg from their old rating. In the PDF they are rated for 1250kg but on-line they show up as 1220kg if one searches for that part number. So all in all, and according to the on-line catalog right now (who knows if and when that changes), I have installed rear springs with slightly lower rear axle load rating (1220kg vs 1253kg). Is that enough to cause a greater drop, and in particular this 6.5mm that I got back from the Audi pads? I happened to replace the pads with thicker ones so the car sits nice, but I would probably have gained another 5-6mm rear with the correct rear ones. I could just buy two updated rears and install them but not sure if it's worth the hassle considering I don't tow or generally go anywhere near the max load, and the car sits evenly front and back... I also contacted Eibach explaining the situation but I doubt they will look into it. In any case, anyone going with Eibachs double check the correct kit for your car via their online parts catalog as any other consolidated documentation you might have already might be out of date. eibach-produktkatalog_2.pdf
