  1. Seen plenty of bell ends drain out the differential oil, force some more oil into the Haldex unit (leaving the diff empty). Then a short while up the road with no diff oil in it the diff overheats and cracks.
  2. Do you think Skoda make the belt, idler pully and water pump? Get from an OEM manufacturer instead of being ripped off for exactly the same items.
  3. Direct from the horses mouth, - that is the most concise explanation ever and perfectly decribes this bell end who was watched over, aided and abetted by another forum member. Considering how many miles I drove, the speed and the load carried I was very very lucky indeed, I may still pay for the expensive lesson but at least I can own up to my own incompetence and not expect someone who trusted me as a professional to pay out £4.5K for my mistake. In my defence I did my Haldex service shortly after screwed up eye surgery that left me blind in the eye that previously could see closer than the other, another so called professional who blames everybody else and leaves the customer to deal with the consequences.
  4. Hey I'm having the same problem with my cassettes. Any help appreciated.
  5. Absolutely! Both DCC and TC in Sport. I'm surprised the anti-roll bar ambassadors are still not here.
  6. Missed the live broadcast of Eifel GP yesterday because I was behind the wheel. As well as behind the fence, on the Nordschleife.
  7. Some of Johns posts are a little ambiguous, but hopefully all will come clear and it will end well for him.
  8. What happened to the Dekra independant inspection that you were going to have? You should not even be engaging with them considering the K-rap they are coming out with let alone considering accepting a goodwill gesture. Their negligence has destroyed your differential and could have caused a serious accident, I sincerely hope that you had the independant inspection done before they got their hands on it. They have you on the back foot and are trying to get away with as little as possible, you should not facilitate this. If it were me, and I appreciate that everyone is different & respect whatever you ultimately decide to do, I would say to them "Stop right there! The only thing that we can possibly negotiate is how much compensation you are going to pay me over and above repairing my vehicle at your cost with new parts, paying my breakdown recovery costs, the independant inspection and my legal fees to date, otherwise I will simply let the court decide, there is no question about your negligence and responsability for the consequences"
  9. As strange as it sounds, if you fix the temperature sensor, that might sort the TPMS errors for you. Just as an example of a outdoor sensor playing havoc with other systems: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/12542/ It'll probably be behind the front grill somewhere at a guess
  10. @John@C Did you get a Letter from VW Group HQ or Skoda inviting you to have the Emission Fix carried out and ignore it or refuse to have it done? There is no reason to have it done. The Warranty says that you must have Recalls Carried Out. That is not a Safety Recall and is not on the DVLA Recall site and was a Voluntary recall. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  11. The Diesel Fuel Filters were part of the 2nd Major Service if the Technician decided to do them. The Major Service cost the same @ 2 years, 4 years and 6 years if they changed it or not. That is no reason to not count the car as having being Serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations or Guidelines as the customer gets given no Guidelines. Nothing to do with the Haldex or Final Drive anyway.
  12. Punishing you for not having a voluntary fix done?
  13. Is it leaking? No, it will be alreet then. Tick the box.
  14. But what do they mean by a DPF service? Theres no mention of that on the servicing chart. Anyone know what the Extended Scope means on that service chart?
  15. I got distracted over the weekend just gone, ended up doing a full exterior and interior detail on this.. It's my dads Fabia 1.9 TDi 100PD Ambiente which he's had from new and only done 40k. He's approaching 80 so has reduced enthusiasm for scrabbling about polishing cars so I took pity on it and gave the old girl some love. It's a lovely old thing, drives perfectly and so smooth. Anyway, I have now had all the wheels back from Project Powder Coating in Brierley Hill and they are utterly flawless, glossy and smooth. And Yellow. Fitted back up with the new tyres, and back on the car. The cars still up on stands as it's easier to work on while we get it running. Speaking of running.... The running in map is now loaded up, just need to change a bit of fuel hose i'm not happy with and replace a suspect crank sensor with new genuine one and we should be good to fire..
  16. Some either don't have the brain power or lack the motivation to engage brain power. One of the reasons I left after 20 years, it was a struggle seeing it from the inside, quite self defeating.
  17. This topic has nothing to do with the DSG or gearbox.
  18. I've had 2 Yeti’s, the first in 2012 and that was replaced by a new one in 2017 - just before they were discontinued. I had no problem seeing the triangular symbol on either vehicle and I used it to place the jack twice a year when I swapped from summer to winter tyres in the Autumn and back again in the Spring. Now converted to All Season tyres to save me the twice yearly hassle. Seriously I have never had a problem finding the marks but I can see that in the dark on a rainy night it might be more difficult, so why not get a small pot of white paint and use a small paintbrush to colour the triangles white? - then you can’t miss them!
  19. Dear e-Roottoot, At the end of the day, we know its an issue lacking of training / education / customer value & loyalty skills...I'm caught in the middle of it all..Having to pay for their mistakes if I can prove them wrong as an enterprise. As an individual, I have to be composed, polite, non-judgemental, factual and ask gently while I'm in the virtual dock having to answer all their questions for them to get out of negative press coverage /watchdog/consumer rights & legal actions and meanwhile my expenses are now over stretched. Main Dealer in west London ! For 42 years, I have never complained/claimed...I feel like a school boy again. Regards
  20. @John@C Best that you record that conversation and ask them to put what ever they have to say in writing. ? Is this the Dealership Groups 'escalation team', or Skoda UK's? So they have an 'Escalation team' but were closing the Workshop. Says a lot. They might even have top lawyers but duff Technicians.
  21. Autoglym 'Lifeshine' is worth about what you can pick it up (boxed) for on eBay - i.e. about £20! The £300 - £450 balance is bonce for the dealership = Emperor's New Clothes! Most detailers will apply it for very much less, if you can't face doing it yourself?
  22. Vehicle was not "towed" in the manner you believe. It was a recovery truck then, not a tow truck.
  23. @Kratu The common issue i find is that many people assume that the Dealership parts will always be more expensive than others. Well that is not always the case and sometimes the part is there, and there is an exchange price, and no messing about waiting for delivery of possibly the wrong part. But without checking you never know. I use a Local Motor Factor simply because if they do not have parts they can have them within 24 hours.
  24. No it is not standard - or was not on MY20 - Dec 19 car.
  25. The cat obviously has the memory of an elephant though.
  26. A new thread from some person would be interesting titled. 'I live with a person that lived with a Sportline Plus 272 hatch but kept taking my car'. @shyVRS245 I assume that a Skoda Dealership will not sell your car as a Skoda Approved Used car unless the ECU is being put to Factory Settings. That is if they are aware the car is tuned when taking it as a trade in. Whoever buys it if it is left with the Remap on could find they have an issue if insured without the declared mod and in an accident where the ECU gets checked. That has happened over the years where people buy new cars and are unaware of mods / tuning. They have to just say the car is as i bought it from a seller and i was never told it was not standard as it left the factory.
  27. Mods : Can we change the thread title to ' I Once Lived With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch '
  28. To be honest, I’ve always found the more powerful the car I’m driving the more lazy and laid back I become, and the easier I drive.
  29. Ooohhhh.... Well that’s a surprise ! You didn’t keep that long ! I’m just coming up on 5 years with not even the slightest interest in changing. Mind you my car does have exhaust flaps....... Guess we can put this thread to bed now then ? See you soon in my rear view mirror !
  30. There are some 'bluetooth' personal CD players on Amazon: - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08H5H8G9B - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BC9RKZ6 The first claims you need to use an aux cable to connect to the car so no use. The second states it's not compatible with "some car’s Bluetooth" but gives no indication how you find out more. I think it's going to be a bit of a minefield to actually find something that works as you want I'm afraid Spending time ripped CD's to an SD card will probably be a more sustainable solution. I'm not sure of your age but if you have kids or grand-kids, it could be an easy pocket money earner for them
  31. First thing to check is the CAPS lock button.

  33. Dear Rover, they have top lawyers, I have consumer rights act 2015, sections 10,23 49 or 54/55.No win, no fee with retailers. Some caveat of juris prudence. If you don't groom your horse, feed them, shoe them, exercise, hydrate them, TLC them...They turn ferrel and break. I want to get an outcome to my satisfaction. The system does not allow mere individuals to have their say
  34. I had to go out and check the rear view mirror as I hadn’t noticed anything wrong with it. It seems ok to me, slightly bigger than the Golf I just handed back, definitely bigger than the one in my wife’s Fiesta. I’ll be fitting a dash cam tomorrow and the wire sticking out from the right of the rear view mirror housing will annoy me but nowhere near as much as being told how to steer by the car!
  35. I had a DTUK CRD3 on my L&K 150 TDI - it worked fine for a while but then was getting limp mode and various boost pressure sensor fault codes. If you want more power then definitely go for a remap. The whole “tuning boxes are warranty safe / undetectable” that all tuning box companies tend to state isn’t true either, it quite obvious that one has been fitted & dealers can easily find it out.
  36. The dealership is fully aware of what I have done to the car and anyone who buys it will get the laminated remap printout including the name and telephone of the company that made it such a fast yet economical vehicle. Always the best policy to be honest. Told my insurer about the options fitted to my new car as well.
  37. Assume what you like I have 2 mortgages to pay which total £1,100 per month.
  38. Done, didn't realize I hadn't changed it. Cheers
  39. Surely if a dealership mechanic made that mistake, he must realise that a hell of a lot more oil drained out (of the DSG) than he put back in (to the Haldex), or is there not much oil in a DSG gearbox? I can understand a DIYer making this mistake, but would expect a mechanic to realise whats just happened. Or am I expecting too much from mechanics?
  40. I somehow imagine that in Bangalore there will be plenty with all the gear and more than just an idea ready to do it for 'Much Cheapness', but maybe i have been watching to many programmes on 'Quest'.
  41. I doubt it very much, the little experience I've had of main dealers is they do the minimum required and no more.
  42. Welcome to the forum. Ceramic coatings are very useful for the Sales Person earning extra commission and their employer profiting. Skoda decided that painting & lacquering the car and then the car getting waxed and washed and polished would be good enough so never Ceramic Coated them.
  43. I managed to slip out for a couple of minutes and did this! The 4X4 to me means Off-road which isn’t what I got the 280 for.

I was lucky enough to find a 2017 Skoda approved Sportline hatch with DCC just pre-lockdown at a lot less than that money - although with 35,000 miles. Very glad of both the DCC and 4x4 after having previously leased a 2016 L&K Diesel estate. The previous car used to spin the front wheels at the slightest sniff of damp road surfaces. I knew I wanted DCC, and if you're in the mood it transforms a comfortable cruiser into a real corner eater, honestly I've been driving for more than 30 years had VWs, BMW, Volvo, Fords, even ordered one of the first Chrysler 300Cs in the UK, this is without doubt the best car I've ever owned! Only thing missing in my opinion is a more melodic engine sound, but that's just a sign of the times I suppose. When new, there's a real dilemma on the options lists - if you're leasing, you'll pay handsomely for each non-standard option, usually the full cost over your lease period, so if DCC was say £750, the first owner would pay £250 per year on their 3 year lease. I optioned the variable boot floor on my previous estate, that was well worthwhile in the end. So when you're looking at used, there's generally either DCC or Canton, or Heated Seats or Sunroof, but rarely all of them. On the Canton front, my Sportline doesn't have it, the L&K did, but once you've tweaked the sound settings it's not a disaster. Bonus is that you get some decent large storage bins either side of the boot where the subwoofer would've been - ideal for all those wine / beer / spirits bottles to be kept upright The other problem is avoiding an original sale price of over £40k, as you'll then be in the higher VED bracket until the car is over 5 years old. Good luck with the search.
  45. This is what they said back then they then went on to claim it was coming from the ecu and it went down hill from there till they stopped replying 😂 only thing I’ve found that will give it correctly is vcds.

The listings I have show no usage in Skoda, Seat or Audi for CAYD. In VW Caddy, CAYD and CAYE are both found (first 2 columns are kW and bhp):
