  1. Two of mine got kerbed, one quite badly and my local mechanic/friend did both for £60 and you can't tell it ever happened.
  2. Finally got round to fitting my Columbus, fitting was so easy! Really happy with it! http://imgur.com/lmXYlIc
  3. It just looks soooooo much better, can't wait to get mine done. Thanks for posting.
  4. Any pics dude, I'm getting mine done on the 26th.
  5. Deffo not a fan!!! I prefer my badge that's entirely black. But I guess that's personal preference.
  6. I'm talking out my ass, I have got the old one so I've just ordered the part off of skoda parts (thanks skoda1982) so hopefully the right part comes. Potentially Zed, if I can find someone to do so, will keep you updated
  7. If you do get some Chris can you post a before an after pic cos I too would like some brighter ones, and whiter, the standard yellowy lights are hideous and could be so much brighter.
  8. Ahhh no I've not ordered it, that's the swing I already have so I might be ok. Didn't know there were two different types! Thanks for the tip about the antennae!
  9. Thanks guys, mu7 I've got the first one in of those pics!! I'll just wait to see when the Columbus comes and if the facia doesn't fit I'll get one. Thanks again for all your help I'll post pics after I've fitted it I am excited
  10. Howdy, finally have a Columbus head unit winging it's way to me from Sat_nav_deals on eBay. Very much looking forward to replacing my Swing! I read a thread that dubdee1000 created where he also retrofitted a Columbus and purchased the plastic surround separately, giving part number 5JA858415. I have since tried to source the same and it's like finding a needle in a haystack. I've spoken to my local dealer which has said this: Hi as the Rapid does not have a Columbus fitted to any model no idea if any of the trims will fit your car, the Amundsen sat nav which is the only system fitted to that (and a unique part just to that model, no other Skoda model) has the same trim as you currently have. I would make sure 100% that the Columbus fits your car before buying it, like I said no Rapid has one fitted as standard or as a Skoda accessory, so no trim will be available for that head unit. The part number you have quoted is not a full part number but is the one you already have in your car. This has clearly confused me, we know the Columbus fits, but the surround looks to be the same?
  11. Driving down the motorway the other day and I saw BL04 KFC. Much amusement for my infantile mind Haha.
  12. Sorry you're having trouble Stormchaser. :( my first car was a 11 year old Fiat Brava, which clutch was so stiff I was convinced I actually gained muscle mass on one leg more than the other. Haha. Everyone who drove it couldn't believe how hard it was. So my 08 Fabia, and now my Rapid Sport have been the lightest, smoothest things I've ever driven. The Rapid is smooth, consistent and I can be holding it on a steep incline with little effort and it holds and pulls off beautifully. I've driven a fair few other cars since, Vauxhall, Ford, and Seat and can honestly say Skoda has always felt effortless and consistent.
  13. They look good! I'll take some pics once mine are in. Can't wait to use the the mdi properly something that's been bugging me for ages. Funny that BMW came to the rescue. Going to go Columbus I think. Don't really want third party. They're about £500 on eBay and I think someone on here retrofitted one from the seller I plan to buy from so I know it'll work as planned. Just think it'll add that little bit of extra gadgety/classy look if you will to the cars interior, plus being useful as I'm always balancing my phone in places to use the nav.
  14. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00JOCNEGW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1419632404&sr=8-1π=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=51PJ%2BqWHC%2BL&ref=plSrch They're the ones I got, they look really nice, not fitted yet and the snow is beating down so probably won't be till after new year. The MDI cable is a BMW lightening/aux cable for ipod. So I can use the skip function finally. Just need to get the head unit, lowered and Vinyled roof. Hahaha!
  15. I got front and rear mudflaps, front and rear chrome door kick plates, and the MDI cable. And some money towards my new head unit. Santa has been good to me. Never thought I'd ask for mudflaps for Christmas!
  16. Black roof is awesome. Oh dammit going to have to do mine too now. Another thing to add to the list.
  17. Same as _N_ this thread prompted me to count between blade wipes Hahaha. Definitely slows down when stationary and speeds up when in motion.
  18. My local Skoda dealer offered £230 all in including parts and fitting. And assured me this wouldn't void warranty. My friend and local mechanic asked for £50 labour for fitting if I sourced the springs myself which are around £200. So yes you are being massively ripped off.
  19. Mine looks identical to yours devonutopia Mines just lower down. My mother in laws car had been done earlier this year also along both doors, and they would have had to come onto the drive to do it. She's recently bought a 14 plate Leon Cupra so I've told her to keep an eye on it. Sorry to hear about the experiences you guys have had, I just don't understand why anyone would feel the need. :(
  20. Thanks guys. It's gut wrenching. I took it to a friend who specialises in such things and he's touching it up for me for free. He says it's probably not going to remove it but make it less noticeable. Otherwise my only other option is to have that entire door resprayed. :( He agrees it's too deep to be accidental. I don't understand how people could be so horrible. I'd never dream of such a thing even if I disliked the person.
  21. Chris!!! How could you! One of the reasons I bought my Fabia is because he was yellow with black stripes so looked like Bumblebee. Granted he wasn't a Camaro. autobots, roll out! Haha Spyder I must dispel the myth Rapids are just for older gentlemen. I'm a 26yr old woman. :P
