Lowered on 35 H&Rs today (pic)
MrHappyVRS replied to MCD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
How do you find the ride compared to standard MCD? I've been thinking of lowering mine for the same reasons but didn't want it looking slammed! Yours looks spot on! Paul -
Black FL Octavia Neptune Refurb
MrHappyVRS replied to Jonboy984's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
There's a similar thread on here with pictures from not too long. Can't remember who it was but he went for anthracite and it looked really good. -
I'm thinking of buying one if these as well. Did you get the one with or without GPS. Do you really need GPS? Thanks. Paul.

Buying a CRD-T tuning box from DTUK
MrHappyVRS replied to xpower's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Sorry for late reply. I've went from 4.1 to 4.2. It feels more responsive in all gears and pulls very well. I've had no problems with it and still getting good fuel consumption. I've never tried the 3 fine setting over fear of the engine management light coming on. I'd be happy to leave it on 4.2 but remember back when it was on 2.2 that I thought this was a good all round setting. Will try it again at some point when I can properly compare them. -
(slightly) modded car valuation VRS
MrHappyVRS replied to Matt2134's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
It's only slightly modified and all very well done. It looks stunning. Wouldn't put me off from buying it. I'd sell it as is. As Wardy says try advertising it on here. I'm sure you'll have no problems selling it. -

How you getting on with 2.2? I've been running 4.1. Seems very responsive but doesn't appear to rev as far with other settings. I went in a 70 mile run the other day mostly 'a' roads and motorway. On the way up I took my time and averaged 61mpg. On the way back I drove more like I'd stole it and still averaged 45mpg (displayed not calculated). I'll change back to 2.2 this week and compare the two. These seem to be the most popular settings. -
Looks great Eddie. We'll done!

If you slide off the big hose to the right of it, it gives you a lot more space. -

I've now taken the time to read this full post and have seen that 4+1 and 2+2 appear to be the favourites. I'll probably change to 4+1 by the end of the week and see which I prefer. -

Quick update on my CRD-T box. I have a manual 2010 Octavia VRS TDI. I ordered the box just before Christmas and would have forgave Andrew if it never arrived the next day given the Christmas post but it did and I got it on Christmas Eve. I attempted to fit it a few days later. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and it's simply a case of removing 2 plugs and plugging it in. Unfortunately the plug at the boost sensor is in an awkward position between some pipes and I eventually admit defeat. One of my mechanic friends then popped round, removed the boost hose and got it all plugged in with the cables nicely tidied away. Probably took him about half an hour all in and all The box comes on setting 2.0. The difference is instantly noticeable. The car drives do much better. The power is delivered a lot more smoother and earlier. It drives more like a petrol and revs right through the rev range. I've slowly been upping the setting and currently have it on 3.0. I can not recommend this box enough. The whole service DTUK offers is top notch. This is what the VRS should of been like when it left the factory! I can't comment on the increased fuel mpg as I'm still having far too much fun with it although I can see how it will as you have to use the throttle much less. If you've been in any doubt I can only say go for it! I wish I'd got one when I first bought the car! -
Looks tacky and awful. Why would you?

Best present? Worst present?

Best present I bought myself as a wee treat... DTUK CRD-T tuning box. Arrived on Christmas Eve. Can't wait to get it fitted! -

After debating for some time if I should get a remap or tuning box. I've finally weighed in the pros and cons of both and decided a tuning box would suit me better. A couple of emails to Andrew and a nice Briskoda discount code later and I have a CRD-T box on order. I have a que of friends looking for a test drive and feedback once its fitted as I'm sure there is on here so I will report back once it's fitted! -

How can I find my Bolero code?
MrHappyVRS replied to RobM's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Your dealer will need your reg / chasis No. And there's a sticker on the side of the stereo with a long code on it. They need that as well. I had the same problem. They never charged me anything. -
More than likely one is petrol the other is diesel. Diesels eat front tyres. My last set i tried Pirelli, which have lasted 13000. Now under 2mm and at a loss of what to put on next???

Broken rear seats? (Picture intensive)
MrHappyVRS replied to Stoofa's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
The near side on my back seats have a small gap as well. Not quite as much as yours though. I've also had a rattle coming from that place after having the seats down but just dropped it down and slammed it back in to place and have never had it since. -
I've managed to get another couple quotes, professional retrofits - £550 and Nemysis Autohaus - £400. Still to speak to my local Skoda dealer but very much doubt they'll be cheaper as £400. Just have to weigh it up and see it its worth the cost?! Anyone got any views on this?
