  1. Yeah, that's the first step in the automated process. If she hadn't braked herself afterwards, the system would've for her and quite energetically as well.
  2. I got some Dezent wheels for my winter set with an ET of 48 and there's loads of room still. No chance the tire will hit the fender I think. My centre bore is 67.1 mm for those wheels and I just used plastic rings that have come with the wheels to get them to the required 57.1 mm.
  3. If you're actually pressing the pedal then the system doesn't intervene (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Be aware that FA doesn't work with stationary objects, so don't test it at traffic lights when the car in front has stopped already!
  4. From day one and a couple of times after, usually after some .... drivers have cut me off abruptly. Which tends to happen in a busy city. I've also had a couple of warnings for staying too close to the car in front. Which is actually one of my faults as a driver as I tend to do that... I'm working on it though! PS: When I got the proper alert I only got the short automatic dab of the brakes and not the full thing. Judging by my impression from the alert braking, I think the full thing would be quite scary!
  5. FA works separately from the ACC. If you click on the side button from the ACC while that is off, you get a menu on the maxi-dot where you can enable/disable the FA.
  6. You'd assume the gearbox would know to have 2nd pre-selected when you're in Sport and have the Launch Control activated, right?
  7. I have a TSI DSG and have a tried a couple of launches and it never felt like I was going faster than 6-6.5s to 60 (didn't time it though). The gearbox just takes way too long to go from 1st to 2nd and wastes what feels like at least 1 second at the rev limiter.
  8. The J is fine, the 205 tire will fit fine. The ET46 means that the whole wheel+tire combo will sit 5 mm more to the outside of the fender. You should be fine. Disclaimer: Don't sue me if you get into problems! :P
  9. So if the stock TDI gets around 7s to 60 mph, how come we've never seen the TSI get less than 6.5s in YT videos? The TSI is slightly lighter, has significantly more bhp and similar torque.
  10. Umm, how about better spelling? On topic, I think it looks good and probably better with black wheels rather than silver ones. I think it suits the hatch better than the estate. Enjoy your new car!
  11. I've never heard of a FWD car suddenly and unexpectedly lose complete rear traction! That's a rather silly premise if we're talking about normal (even spirited) driving on public roads...
  12. Well, even the official figures give a higher consumption to the 1.8 TSI DSG 4x4 than even the VRS TSI DSG... So yeah, you have to pay somehow for that awesome drive-train.
  13. It's missing on some of the early examples on LHD cars too. Mine doesn't have it, only the normal Mode button. Does the same thing so I don't really care...
  14. At 0.85 l/100km you shouldn't be complaining! Are you sure you aren't driving a Tesla with a scooter engine in the back? :P
  15. How did you mount the child seat in that position? There's no ISOFIX there and it doesn't seem like you used the seatbelt to secure it...
  16. Well, you can deactivate through VCDS, no need for the spanner...
  17. You know that nobody's going to read it and will still post new threads, right?
  18. That's a different thing, he said he's put in 50l while still having 1/4 tank of petrol.
  19. I did manage to get 50.2 liters in on my first ever fill up straight from the dealers, with 0 range on the clock. But I'm guessing the tank was actually dry and I was running on vapors.
  20. There's no way you can get 50l inside a tank that still has 1/4 of petrol. I usually go slightly below 1/4 of a tank when I refuel and my average is around 43l.
  21. The range takes into account whatever is in the tank at that time, which is in case was a full tank of 50l.
  22. It's late now (and I also have the VBF), but what I can tell you for sure is that the angle is not 90o. The top of the subwoofer slopes gently upwards.
  23. Brushed aluminium looks good in dark interiors.
