Post your Mk3 Octavia photos!
TudorM replied to Torchythomas's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I have Columbus with the USB connection. I couldn't choose the Mitsumi even if I wanted to, which I didn't. -
Black pack Gloss rear window trim
TudorM replied to 6xsteve's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The black pack doesn't come with window trim, only the front grill, side mirror covers and the roof rails on the estate. That black trim on the windows is standard across the range. And yes, you should be able to order a new one and replace. Have you tried buffing it out first? -
Combi Power Boot, am I missing something?
TudorM replied to Neily03's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've used mine just yesterday evening, but I can't say I remember anything on how it looks. So, how is it supposed to look like? -

It does say "Air Lift" on the side of the car. -

That looks ridiculously low, but also good in a weird sort of way... -
New flat bottom steering wheel on Geneva Octy Mk3 vRS
TudorM replied to GAFF's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I'm sorry, but that has got to be the silliest reasoning for a theft that I've seen in a very long time... ) -
New flat bottom steering wheel on Geneva Octy Mk3 vRS
TudorM replied to GAFF's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
One of the selling points against the GTI for me has been the normal round steering wheel. Flat bottomed ones are such a stupid idea in the real world it's not even funny. We're not driving race cars... -
2014 2.0 TDI 150PS Dyno Results
TudorM replied to Andrew@DTUK's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
How else would you expect Sport mode to work? Why would it go below 1900rpm when max torque comes from 1750 rpm and why should it change before 3500-4000rpm when that's where max power is? That's the whole point of the gearbox program, maximum performance at the expense of comfort and economy. Get back into D you... PS: Or just use the paddles? -
ECO mode is rubbish, I've never used it more than a couple of hundred meters and never will again. The supposed additional economy is not worth the trouble.
-
Use the search function, quite a bit posted already, by me included.
-
Well yeah, but that isn't the RR package since that's only the suspension setup and the underfloor protection. The bits you're talking about can't be ordered on an ordinary Octavia. Yeah I know, I'm being pedantic... sorry.

It's (nearly) here... Again!
TudorM replied to Mike999vRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
With your luck in cars I wouldn't be playing the lottery if I was you... Congrats on your new one and lets hope it stays out of trouble. -
People tend to call the hatch a saloon just because it kinda looks like one.
-
Oh, I don't know... Maybe it's catching on fire? PS: The pano roof does change the whole interior, doesn't it?

These two didn't deliver my vRS
TudorM replied to Wasp27's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
They always do that on show cars, unfortunately it's not standard. Too bad my VRS was handed over by a 30 years old bearded man. :( -
Umm, maybe in the UK. Otherwise it is clear the 184 engine will be in the Scout.
-
RR package on a Scout, are you sure?
-
It's the TDI sister of my TSI... It looks identical (except the ACC in the bumper). Congrats, looks like a full year for you!

Can the standard screen be upgraded to sat nav?
TudorM replied to Telboy5's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
You need to remember that the "sat-nav" is actually made from two different units, the one in the glove box (the brains) and the one in the dash (just the screen). So it's not a matter of just replacing the screen, since that won't give you anything extra. We've already had a member here trying to go from Bolero to Columbus, bought the new screen and everything and he couldn't get it to work, as the screens are coded to their own unit in the glove box and they form a pair. He ended up returning the Columbus screen back to the vendor. As Trekster has said, it isn't possible at the moment to get around that. -
Excess exhaust smoke on acceleration.
TudorM replied to stopwn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've had the same thing and I'm also doing small trips. I gave it a WOT once on a cold morning and my entire rear window got completely misted up because of the water vapour from the exhaust. -
So this was strange: Faulty Heated Screen
TudorM replied to jtypecav's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
You're right! I didn't realize it was a clip, sorry. And mine doesn't do that, the heated screen doesn't come on automatically. I need to try again, since it's colder today. -
You know that's really not recommended right? It's even stated in the manual. No wonder you were getting more fuel in the tank than the rest of us... :P

TudorM replied to jtypecav's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
So judging by that picture, the heated windscreen wasn't turned on... That contradicts your previous post and is exactly the same as mine. Shouldn't the Auto light go off and the fan LEDs go to max when you press the Max Demist button?
