  1. I used a small screwdriver to dig out the foam seal & scraped off the black crap from someones previous failed attempt then filled the gap with sealer & then put another layer to cover between the actual door & the carrier then smoothed it off, also sealed the rivets. As said above i used plumbers gold, brilliant stuff even goes off under water, your problem may have been the sealant you used not sticking if there was still moisture present.
  2. If i did that i'd be doing the dusting lol.
  3. Car usually gets washed every couple of weeks as its black ,am using autoglym rapid detailer as a dying aid was thinking of trying the sonax but have seen its not suited for this so would i still use a detailer as a drying aid if sonax was applied. Think i'm on a slippery slope lol used to have 2 buckets,2 sponges,a chamois & a bottle of colour magic now got mitts, applicators, wax, polish & a host of other bits & can't pass a micro fibre cloth without feeling the quality.
  4. Ok go easy, bit new to all this,as it seems to more a sealer than a detailer how does Sonax BSD affect re applying a wax does it have to be stripped?.
  5. secret is to dig out as much of the original seal as possible i think then you can get a good thick bead of sealer right in the gap.
  6. Ok go easy new to all this,as its more a sealer than a detailer does using sonax bsd affect re applying wax?.Does it need to be removed before another coat of wax can be applied.
  7. Nooo pasty cant mix 27 in & 700 tyres & wheels, see the following http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html,you need a 700 tyre mate. As for the pinch puncture we've all done it lol, make sure the tube is clear of the rim & partly inflate it then deflate sqeeze the tyre together on itself all the way around before final inflation works for me.
  8. If you mean mud flaps mate they're available from dealers & a search for same should provide pictures.

  10. No but i remember them though sigh lol.
  11. Try this mate or there's plenty of threads on here about how to do it.
  12. Water sits on top of the rubber seal in the bottom of the door opening & there may be white marks on the bottom of the door cards if its not done mate, thought mine was ok til we had some of the downpours this winter, pulled the cards off expecting a failed previous attempt maybe but they'd never been done.
  13. I put cards back straight away mate, the sealant was skinned but not dry.
  14. Got oem ones from TPS they look suspiciously similar though, loofah anyone .
  15. Got a cracked one,is it possible to replace in situ or is it a bumper off job.
  16. Did mine recently along with shocks, who makes a bump stop out of glorified bath sponge material, crap lol.
  17. 2 Mac Tools universal seat covers, black nylon with red logo, used these in a vrs so added a couple of tie points to the base to stop them sliding off so much. £25 posted, will split if 2 people definitely want 1 each Mk 1 fabia VRS front seat backrest, bought off here to replace mine which has a hole in the bolster however the purchase of some e bay covers & a lack of bottle means i'm never going to get round to it lol. £15 posted. Can do pics by e mail if needed.
  18. Me too mate, best i've ever seen was 53mpg at 60mph on a flat stretch of motorway, mines a BLT which apparently can be quite inaccurate but i'd love to see 70 mpg lol.
  19. TPS were cheaper than Euro for Sachs, mine is standard anyway so went the oem route.Bump stops had been gone for a while but only started clonking after the shock started to leak.
