Yep, you can also have engine go pop and warranty refused on repairs. I know from experience and that was one of the main VAG tuners. Vag are now able to detect both piggyback and remap.

Should say mine is dsg ran only on 97ron

Mostly shorter journeys of around 8 miles in cold weather using heated seat and steering wheel. Was mid to high 20s but has been improving to low 30s. I’d expect it to improve to mid 30s when weather improves
-
There’s a dedicated button on the steering wheel for the 3 stage heated wheel controls.

This topic is like opening a tin of worms on forums The car does come with the option to display oil, coolant and gearbox temps simultaneously. I have this permanently on display. Wait until all your temps are up and enjoy the car for what it is in a progressive manner. Keep an eye on all fluids. Enjoy it Manual or dsg?

Hopefully can progress with a few things when restrictions start to ease.

They’re actually drawing a lot of criticism from owners over lack of tactility

Annoying things about the Mk4!
parsey83 replied to OctaviaMK4's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
Are you all manually checking for updates or are they being pushed OTA? -
Thought I’d start a quick thread for owners of the mk4 to start sharing ideas/thoughts/plans etc for any changes they may make. One of the things I would like to do is source the alcantara type material on the vrs dash and apply it to the gloss black surround around the gear selector knob. I would also like to extend the dsg paddles to slightly larger ones. I’ve already tried some full replacement units from eBay however the fitment is different from the mk7 golf etc. I do however note the new mk8 golf r comes with slightly larger paddle shifters so I will try and source the part and come back to this thread if they are interchangeable.

Thanks. I used the meguiars ceramic wax kit. Really easy to apply with great results. Then use autoglym quick wax every few washes. -
Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread

Made the most of a spell of half decent weather and ceramic coated the car and fitted mud flaps. Really pleased with this colour as I feared it maybe a bit ‘dull’ -
Fronts need an extra fitting and a 6.5mm hole drilled Rears also have an extra fitting to secure All very straightforward

If I recall correctly on my mk3 it was up against the bulkhead and the motor actually vibrated and sent the sound through the windscreen and not the car speakers. But we need someone with it fitted and working to post a pic or two up to see if it is hardware or as some have said it may now be played through the speakers.

Same material as rubber floor mats. It’s a harder rubber for durability but still soft enough to the touch. Kind of hard to describe lol

Think it was 60 euro. I got the boot mat, front and rear mudflaps and front and rear rubber mats. I think it came to 147 euro all in including postage and it took 7 days to arrive to Northern Ireland
-
Just fitted front and rear mudflaps to the vrs so thought I'd post a few pics for fellow members Took around 20 mins to fit without wheel removal. Sourced from superskoda at 15 euro a pair which is significantly cheaper than dealer prices They do sit out a bit proud by design as they have integrated spacer lips All in all I'm happy and they will offer protection and make the rear lower portion of the car look that bit wider
-
It's a great fit and will offer some protection from rain/liquid also as it has a lip that runs around the entire edge. My son and I have 1/8 scale rock crawlers so this will protect the boot nicely

I just purchased the genuine Skoda one from superskoda at a good price. Fits perfectly and one side is carpet with the other a heavy duty and easily cleaned rubber
