  1. Get it plugged into vcds and select to proppa settings! This is where I'm gonna start!
  2. Like Skoda themselves, most Skoda owners are simply clever but VRS owners are simply deranged.... VRS owners quick code index OCD = Oil Compulsive Disorder (this applies to most of us on here) MBF= Mad as Box of Frogs (the green in the vrs logo is symbolic of this one) BF = Brake Fade US = Under Steer Your continued of this list would be welcomed!!!
  3. Move the drivers seat as far forward as possible for maximum front end grip!
  4. That's why I had them leave as is and will find someone who knows whats what to make the adjustments. When I get it sorted though it will be awesome!
  5. Fuel wise this is my findings, I've not tried anything else yet.... (is there anything else) Tesco Momentum 99 turns a Donkey into a Flying Talking Donkey! Shell V-Power is good and gets my thumbs up BP ultimate is only 97 and IMO is just expensive pond water Edit/added: Enjoy the car, when you get used to the box and the feel of everything is more instinct it is a cracker and if you make a few choice mods (I'm planning to!!!) the car by all accounts can be made to be even better at reasonable costs! Wrighty
  6. Thanks George that's very interesting, I must find some info on the Cupra brake upgrade option and read up, I would have better brakes any day over more power! Would an increase of brake assist make the pedal light and sharp? as I hate that, the weight of the pedal as it is standard is about right but for me it lacks the feel when pressing on and when it lacks feel the confidence goes and the tendency to get on the brakes early and ride them for longer as a comfort to make sure it will stop only makes on set of over heating and fade happen sooner, If I'm on a mad five I turn off the traction with button on dash and feed the power in by foot, when tyres are warm enough I only tend to get a little bit of inside wheel spin out of tight slow 2nd gear corners and that's negligible with a steady right foot, with the traction on it is very keen to flash the light on the dash and tame the beasty, the electronics are far to keen to intervene for my liking so I switch them off. Shark, I've always been a late braker and it has been my gripe with every car I ever owned, I tried a full set of Ferodo DS2500 pads with drilled discs in my mk1 but they had a very aggressive bite when really hot, this was very unsettling to the balance of the car and the feel was gone the pedal may as well been a switch by the that time so heel and toe on the down change was out the question at that point, oh and at that point the whole brake system was cooked and the front discs glowed I went to dealers Saturday morning just gone to pick up MDI cable, while I was there I explained about the vcds settings of the steering and brake assist I had read on here and though they didn't really understand what I was asking they were very good and plugged it in to ODIS to have a look and humour me, I got taken into the workshop and shown the options for the steering and brake assist but there ODIS system only had a description on one of the steering settings, No.6 - mobility, and it didn't show current settings so not knowing what they would be changing from and to they were reluctant to change stuff they didn't understand, so I didn't push, instead I thanked them very much for there time and having a look but leave all as is and I'll find someone with full understanding elsewhere. I'm very keen to understand more about electrical mods to improve the car, I can do the mechanical bit just not electrical wizardry  Wrighty Wrighty
  7. Brimma, glad to hear you are very happy with the rarb! Did the B12 kit make much difference to the cars feel?! I am looking to do a B12 kit in near future, after looking and reading about other springs/dampers i concluded this would be the best all rounder package and I had the Eibach pro spring/damper kit on my mk1 and was very happy with that but sounds like should have tried the rarb and definitely need to try one on my mk2!
  8. my mk1 was exactly the same though?! Spongy and no feel and pedal would go to floor if you pressed hard enough, had Jabbasport do a fluid change to dot 5.1 and it made next to no difference so short of changing all the braking components i just have to drive it accordingly.
  9. I wouldn't say your are being picky, you didn't mention the poor handling or brakes, I agree with the windscreen wash delay, it gives impression that the system is missing a non-return valve. I've done a little over 1000 miles in mine now and the handling is very poor for the engine performance, I don't recall my mk1 being anywhere near as bad when that was standard and the brake pedal will go to the floor on an emergency stop and not lock/abs if the road is dry.
  10. I'm gonna start choking it at the end of the straights when I lift off to make sure it doesn't seize
  11. I had Eibach pro kit (spring and damper) on my mk1 and that was a very good compromise of looks/handling/comfort/price/quality of product and from the homework I've done looking at what's available for the mk2 I'll be looking to do the equivalent kit for the mk2 when the weather turns warmer and then consider the rarb after.
  12. It's only cheating when the rule book clearly states that it prohibited
  13. In a previous life I used to be an engine builder, we used to make the dipsticks in house an adjust by filling with correct amount of oil then set the length of stick to suit, it was pretty full proof that way. I checked mine cold after 700 miles and it was 2/3's above hatched area just under the top orange blob, by everything I've read my conclusion was that this was acceptable and I'll check again after couple more tanks of fuel go through. I take it Jabozuma is the nickname for a hot dip?
  14. Just a thought but has anyone gone to extreme and drained the angry donkey and refilled with a carefully measured out 3.6 litres of oil and then after the oil has had time to get to sump then taken a reading on the dipstick?
  15. Glad to see another vrs owner on here, welcome!I would say take you car on its own merrit and try not worry about the oil issues reported, I did a very similar thing to you and started reading more after I'd committed to buy and got all worried and thought omg what have I done!! Like George, I would recommend Tesco momentum 99 or shell v power, I've tried Bp ultimate but ultimately its just expensive pond water at 97ron in my opinion and the car didn't like it. Your mpg is amazing though!!! I did a trip lastnight to see a friend and only managed 13.2 mpg over 22 miles, have seen up to 44+ mpg though on a more sensible run. Enjoy it!!!! Wrighty
  16. Hi all, when I picked up my fabia it had a mdi/ipod cable in the glove box, the dealer was good as gold and said not a problem if it doesn't suit they'll order in the correct cable for me. I went in this morning to collect the new mdi/micro usb cable and it fits my Nokia lumia 800 but doesn't work connect or charge, all at dealership seem a bit puzzled, we proved the mdi on the car works with another cable and a salesmans iPhone, so it seems a phone/cable issue. Any advice welcomed Wrighty
  17. Got these bits on mine, nice touches that give you that subtle reminder that you are driving something a little more special.
  18. I rejected a meteor grey that should have been steel grey or platin grey as the order read, factory ordered a silver with black hat and shoes, so pleased with the silver and I swerved the battleship grey!
  19. My mk1 vrs did this from day dot, had it 9 years and it was always the same, its a feature not a fault
  20. Official Briskoda Fabia II vRS Register Date of registration: 31/01/2014 Colour: Silver/black roof Options fitted: Amundsen sat-nav + DAB, climatronic air con, phone prep GSM II with bluetooth, small leather pack 3 spoke MFSW for radio/phone, grey cloth, front armrest, floor mats, sunglasses storage, black roof, black Gigaro wheels
