  1. I got mine from amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00OTG9KGG?
  2. You purchase the obdeleven dongle and download the app via the play or apple store. Ideally you need the pro verion as that allows long coding to be done.
  3. Not a great deal with the park pilot. If you have acces to, I would scan your car with either vcds or obdeleven and see what it says. I purchased obdeleven and it has been worth its weight in gold of recent.
  4. The glow plugs will need changing. The code will tell you which one. Use genuine skoda plugs as the system on the mk3 is very sensitive to voltage. The garage who changed mine under their warranty fitted non genuine parts (NGK) They all failed within a week. They have now fitted genuine parts and all is working as it should.
  5. The average price for wheel alignment is anywhere from £50 upto and beyond £85, depending on how many adjustments there are and what type of machine they use. Hunter is the better one. £200 is cheap so I would get that in writing. They may only charge £35 / £40 per hour so may have factored in 3hrs work. Whereas most stealers charge double that in most places.
  6. APR, Racing Line, Revo, Superchips, Celtic Tuning, Big Fish. R Tech. There are some more but these are who most go to.
  7. I have a friend who deals with quantum in Nottinghamshire and he always gets good reviews. As a company that is as much as I know. Most stick to the main VAG tuners that are tried and tested.
  8. Have all the pumps been genuine VAG parts?
  9. My guess would be the fuel pressure regulator valve. Used to happen on the early TFSi engines. Happened on mine and back then we fitted one from the RS3 which held higher pressure.
  10. When i had my DSG serviced they updated the software. Now when i lift off the throttle, the gear disengages like it does in eco mode, only not as pronounced as on / off like in eco. It seems to have helped with economy and doesnt affect driveability either.
  11. Same as me. Though I had a TFSi mk2 and then later a CR170 Mk2. I will wait until the mk4 has been out a while to teeth out any gremlins first.
  12. I thought about the petrol but I dont like the FL front end and couldn't find a pre FL to my specs. I also commute quite a bit and easily get 50+mpg out of my VRS diesel, even with DSG which isnt the most economical as opposed to manual. I may switch back to petrol in the mk4 Octy VRS in a couple of years. Enjoy your new car and it looks to be very well specified 👍
  13. Mountune do an excellent intake option. https://www.mountune52.com/products/bundle-deal-x3-induction-system-and-induction-hose
  14. Has the car been scanned for any fault codes. Even intermittent there will be a code stored on the ecu.
  15. Personally I wouldn't. I would always opt for an aftermarket exhaust system over a resonator delete. You get a nicer exhaust note without the drone at motorway speeds.
  16. Failing all that. Expoxy resin or Gorilla glue would rebond the broken parts.
  17. I would do the remap, turbo intake pipe. Wouldn't bother with the resonator removal as people report the car drones at motorway speeds.
  18. I would not spend over £600 a month on a car. Mine costs me just over £200 a month and I wont use nearly £400 a month on fuel. Tesla are overpriced and very underwhelming vehicles. Also ev cars cause more damage to the planet than people realise. The amount of natural resources that are needed purely to make the batteries needed. Also the electricity to actually charge the batteries is not free. Most come from coal powered stations and the small percentage from renewable energy sources. Suddenly these zero emission cars become quite high emissions in the making and maintening.
  19. Has the DSG been reset or serviced at all?
  20. I have the Goodyear Asy 5 in 19s. I went 235 as opposed to 225 for the extra rim protection they provide. Although I wish I had gone for Apollo Aspire XP, as they came very high in tyre tests and cost about £80 a tyre. I'd have saved nearly £200 getting those fitted instead. My dad had them fitted and they are an excellent tyre.
  21. On the OBD pro verion there is an alignment reset but I do not know if you need specific headlight equipment to realign. Or if it just resets everything back to standard. I would also do a full back up of all control units before you alter anything.
  22. At motorway speeds I would change into 4th to overtake. Equally your map may be asking too much power and torque low down. I would speak to your mapper and see if they can reduce the low down torque. It may be the more pocket friendly solution.
  23. Sorry. You said tdi tuning boxes so thought it was a diesel. All of the above tuners will do an excellent map for your car.
  24. Shark Performance which is now Racing Line. Also Darkside Developments are widely regarded as one of the best diesel tuners. Also Superchips bluefin have good results. I have had both Shark and Superchips maps on previous cars and never had an issue. Companies such as Celtic Tuning have a good followig along with APR. I know Awesome do APR maps for our diesels for about £350. Most maps give between 210 and 220bhp, which is about the most to expect bar changing turbos etc. Also Darkside do a charge pipe upgrade for £160 and you can fit a new turbo intake pipe from the airbox to turbo for a bit more flow. I am thinking of the charge pipe and turbo intake pipe, then fit a remap.
  25. Droning can be caused by certain makes and design of tyres when worn down a bit. I would imagine if you fitted a different brand of tyre your noise will be gone. I dont get any drone with my Goodyear F1 Asy 5's. You can also fit increased noise absorption in the boot quit cheaply.
