Guys how do I no witch one to order before I get head gasket done is there a way of telling while everything is still in place ?

Only when it all goes tits up get the sump removed and hopefully u have a blocked oil pick up if not then I'd be very worried :(

Hi guys been doing loads of reading on line about vrs not starting 1st time when cold take 2 attempts every time regardless of how many times I cycle the car, iv got vcds so iv checked the timing in engine measuring blocks 004 iv attached a picture to show my finding would you guys say my timing is out ?? any help very welcome as it's annoying me now

guys can any one tell me can the rocker arm shaft be removed without messing anything up timing wise a I have. Levy head gasket (oil leak) and iv noticed my cars had a replacement he'd t some point in its life so I'd like to check the he'd bolts as iv convinced there not as tight s they need to be so I'd like to back them off one at a time to check them , before I go down the route of replacing the head gasket :(

Hi it's fund the cause of my oil leak., it's leaking from the head gasket back right hand corner :( gutted but it's under warranty thank God so will be going in next week hopefully My question is. Is this a known issue with these engines 2.0tdi BMN engine codes?? Any info much appreciated

You will get engine symbol on dash if it come rs off when your driving don't panic just drive it conservatively if it does that or pull over and push it back together lol

When was the last time the fuel pump lifter was changed ? I bet that worn hopefully you have picked it up early before it does a lot of damage

Shove some glue on it push it back together it will get you home iv know them last for mths broken just like that , but order one off eBay there like under £40 quid inc delivery and take 5 min to swap out

So this evening I had 10. Min spare so removed air filter and still couldn't see any obvious leaks so put my phone on video and shoved it down there to see what I could find , have a watch let me know what you think one looks like its oil return under the turbo and other looks like feed , these buggers are really hard to actually look at :(

Cheers gents by the look of it costing wise the switch and sensor option from eBay suits me, but will I be left with a gap round the switch as tim sure iv read the skoda one I'd not round but the golf one is

Go to your local skoda dealer they will have a set of keys and will be able to order the correct one for your nuts , I had to do it few yrs ago think cost was approx £25 and that way for a key and 4 new locking nuts as they come as a set

Hi guys got round to getting my car up on a ramp to give it a once over after buying it this week and discovered quite a oil leak coming from the back of the engine towards the top , can't see ware it's coming from from under neigh or from above, so before I take air filter etc pipe work out the way tomora to have a butchers is there a common leak from this area ? The actual area is (standing at front of the car ) passenger side of engine if I put my hand under the air intake and I run my hand along the intercooler pipe towards the engine it's in that area cheers for any input info brad

Hi guys got my car today (Octavia 07 plate )and I'm in need of fitting rear parking sensors don't need fancy one just some that will beep , my mk5 golf gti had some genuine vw ones that just beeped do skoda do some that just beep ?? Has anyone got and links to any as this boot as massive compared to the golf lol

hi guys looked at a skoda octavia today 2006 2.0 tdi i found the white sticker in the boot to try and get the engine code as current owner was unaware of different versions but its so worn out iv finding it difficult to figure out what it should say so i took a quick pic and im hoping one of your guys might be able to help me is that saying BKD OR BND is there any way of telling what engine this octavia has ?? cheers brad

i use vcds lite witch is the free version from rosstech not used it on a skoda yet but works great on my passat and a4 for fault code reading/clearing buts thats all u can do really on a couple vw/audi forums im on there is a vagcom map (members with full vag-com) that can do things to your car not spotted weather this forum has this, might be worth asking in wanted section see if any one local to you has the full vagcom (vcds) and wants some beer tokens
