  1. "Why is the actual capacity of automotive fuel tanks bigger than nominal capacity?" http://www.s-oil7.net/eng/knowledge/expert/view.jsp?seq=79 The whole matter is huge so i had to stay to the basics. Can i take for granted he number 42 ltr? Has any Felician tried to overfill his tank?
  2. You are right, unfortunately the mix of 2 brands of G11 plus the MoCool made things worst. @Thefeliciahacker : imagine the scene, it's raining and you make circles around the blocs to find an empty space to park to go home to rest. You catch the first available no matter if it's not comfortable praying for the best next morning (no scratches, no hits on the bumper, no broken window glass etc). Let's hope that the new coolant will bring things ''back to order".
  3. 1) If you have tested and you are sure about the term "Consistent" then as we say here ''you are the joy of the sneaky gas station owner". For what i said above yes i believe it because i pay attention to this from 1991. 2) So the fuel fraud there is Zero? https://www.crownoil.co.uk/news/up-to-260-million-in-tax-owed-to-hmrc-by-fuel-fraudsters/ So since you don't know or you don't want to participate let's move on to other members opinion.
  4. Update: Here is the quantity of the coolant that i have removed the last days, i added distilled water now the car is running with the remains of the old Antifreeze mix (plus MoCool) inside. After few kilometres i will remove at least another 1 litre and i will replace it with new Antifreeze plus the Amsoil Dominator Coolant Boost that i have bought. Here is a snapshot of where i worked today, you can see how narrow the road is and how difficult and dangerous the whole situation is.
  5. That's my main question. Have you? "Consistent"? The A gas station has a tampered pump among three, the B gas station has an inclination, the C gas station is in a hot island but the D is deep inside a cold mountain road so ''Yes" as you said with the same car every time you hear the ''click" from the pump are you 100% sure that you have inside your tank the same amount of fuel?
  6. Shake your head, who wrote about ''criminal activities, crooks" etc? Remember the Antifreeze GR test at 2005 few posts back? Was very hard to find a guy with a proper equipment to to this, in a contrary in USA for example have many companies, lot of laboratories and sponsors to support an organization or a study etc. List of NASCAR sponsors https://stockcarracing.fandom.com/wiki/Category:NASCAR_sponsors We do not have these here, is that so hard to understand it?
  7. I have seen that 50/50 mixture in many US made videos but here the climate is different but keep in mind that i was buying American car tuning magazines 2 years before i bought my car because i knew that you have the money, time and the sponsors to do many tests. There are numerous differences with Greece (car models, RWD, motor cc, roads, climate, fuel octane, wheel size etc) but for years (far more the internet era and YT videos) i was study and learn many things from your methods. I will let the distilled water for few days (no Ice conditions here) because i want to measure the time of the second cold start of the day which worries me more plus the fuel consumption.
  8. Dear Felicians, trying to calculate better my fuel consumption with the TC-6 at city traffic except the Current fuel consumption, the Average Consumption i take notice at the Kilometres remaining. Here is the tank and relative parts https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/etka/skoda/fel/101/201100/ and here it is as an estate part. According to the data the tank's capacity is 42 litres. My method in gas station is not the ''fill it up" or ''put as much as can takes" but i said to the employee to put the pump to the auto mode like this and when stops to pull it out without the ''should i round it?" as some employees insist. I want your help in 2 matters: 1) the 42 litre number is when the pump stops? has anyone ever tried to reach the maximum and if yes what was the number? 2) the TC-6 Kilometres remaining function as the manual says "the number is calculated from the fuel level and the average fuel consumption over the last 50 kilometres" so can i use this as alternative fuel consumption method? For example: let's say the tank limit is 42 ltr and the number on the Lcd is 475 Km so my car had a 8.84 ltr/ 100 Km fuel consumption from the previous refuelling or am i wrong?
  9. I remember back in the 70's and 80's when tractors-bulldozer-wagon drill compressors-excavators worked like this. I am working my Felicia with only distilled water (and the remains of the old antifreeze) for few days taking measurements (fuel consumption at cold starts from my TC-6 plus time of idling at 1100 rpm).
  10. Test of this product on an every day car with analogue and digital equipment.
  11. No sir, it's the Amsoil Dominator Coolant Boost, works a bit different than MoCool. https://www.amsoil.com/p/dominator-coolant-boost-rdcb/ here is a related video: but wait, at 1:50 says ''does not lubricate your water pump'' so @KenONeill isn't that Amsoil guy talking ''bull faesces'' at that point?
  12. We know Waterwetter (as many USA products it can be found here) i have test it in summer trips but it's not for cold starts, it's to help your motor to fight overheat. No,i bought the thermostat inside a new housing and the mechanic install it with new gasket. The hole helps the first minutes till the coolant reach the proper temperature?
  13. Maybe does, that's why i remove it and i am trying to wash it out with distilled water changes. I suspect another mistake with 2 brands of G11 mixed (i was in the country, i had a thermostat failure and i couldn't find the same) with Mocool added too to make things worst. I make some measurements the last days with only distilled water as coolant to see the effect on cold starts and the fuel consumption based on TC-6.
  14. Have you use Mocool and see what they claim? Amsoil has a similar product, can be found here but sir i had to think it more about it. As for the thermostats a Felicia owner has no many options, local and foreign e-shops have 87 or 88 'C models. Examples: Here and Here
  15. If you put (as i have done) Mocool in your Felicia and you see more than one click temperature drop (1 or 2 'C the most) i publicly commit that i will sell my car and i will send you all the money. I forgot the word "actually" that's why i added the:
  16. WD-40 company promotes their spray ''for 2000 uses" and MoCool says on the label "Reduces engine temperature by 15 'C (30 degree Fahrenheit)" but 30 'F are 1.1 'C and not 15 'C. Do you believe sir all these without questioning? As you show above in countries with hot climate some things are changing for practical reasons. Unfortunately i use my car lately for short roots and when the coolant delays to come to the proper temperature i have a big fuel consumption problem, my car works worst that a taxi because even a taxi can find a boulevard and speed a little bit or let it roll, i am not.
  17. I found tonight another intetesting thing: Remember that the 50 - 50 mixture of the two is recommended in the extremely cold weather so that the water won’t freeze. Taking that for reference, with quite high temperatures in our tropical climate, Philippine car owners may use a proportion of 20-80 car coolant and distilled water or even higher of 10-90. https://philkotse.com/ _______________ We also have hot climate here so if we apply a 20% antifreeze percentage and change it every 2 years is OK or it's risky and must stay on the 30-70 rule?
  18. Commonly used are 40-60% solutions of concentrated antifreeze (usable between −28 °C and −50 °C). The final limits of use are concentrations of 30% (in warmer regions because they provide protection up to only −18 °C and lower concentrations do not protect against corrosion) and 70%, which are usable up to about −65 °C. So, to what extent you will mix antifreeze and water mostly depends on the weather conditions. Just be careful not to dilute the antifreeze too much, as this will significantly raise the freezing point and will not protect against corrosion. Further, low concentrations of antifreeze do not protect enough from corrosion because they do not have enough corrosion inhibitors https://totalenergies.rs/en/advice-proposals/ehow/antifreeze-everything-you-need-know BS 6580: https://www.smithandallan.com/documents/PRODUCT INFO Antifreeze BS 6580.pdf For a ready-to-use coolant with good corrosion protection it is recommended to use at least 30 % by volume of engine coolant concentrate. https://vietducjsc.vn/upload/cdn/files/COrrosion Inhibitor BS 6580.pdf @Thefeliciahacker : Thank you!
  19. This one? So 30% is the lowest limit and 20% for example means future problems? https://cglapps.chevron.com/msdspds/PDSDetailPage.aspx?docDataId=511991
  20. You have 30% ''pure'' Ethylene Glycol and the rest 70% is distilled water or 30% ''ready to use'' Ethylene Glycol and the rest 70% distilled water?
  21. You have the also the Yellow (which yes exists here in Greece) by Amsoil (i have tested it) but we don't have that ''Lime'' Green Here Chris shows to us what's going to happen if we have pure water inside our hoses and as you can see he suggests a 50%-50% mix but my main question is: The 33% Ethylene glycol percentage is really THE rule for minimum protection from corrosion or there a possibility to be a selling trick?
  22. Unfortunately the additives in our antifreeze breakdown over time and while it may still prevent freezing it will fail to protect the hoses and engine components from deteriorating. https://www.waynesgarage.com/tips/more-tip/antifreeze You know very well what they meant by saying "lubrication". ________________ We don't have "bull faesces" on the roads here, in the country you may find goat virvilies.
  23. Wurth Flamix C G11 says no less than mixture for -20 'C because there will be no protection against corrosion. On the other hand Motul G11 suggests to maintain anti-corrosion properties, do not dilute below 33% which is at least for -22 'C protection. But here in Greece we do not have such temperatures, for example till now the worst morning temperature here in Athens was -1 'C at 5 o'clock and since i don't start the car sooner than 9 o'clock my questions is: The 33% is really THE rule or to put so much of their product is there a possibility to be a selling trick?
  24. We know it for years now but it's a ''walking in the razor's blade" decision, you need too much preparation to install it and i case of something goes wrong fro example a leak when you are in the country ''you are done" You have to carry 1-2 litres of this in your trunk just in case. No. I am working on that the last days. Very interesting sir! For many years i was running a mixture of 20-30% ethylene glycol and the rest was distilled water, no problem at all. I made a mistake and believed some guys ''your coolant is too weak, your pump is not lubricated properly, you are gonna have a problem soon" etc and i changed the analogy, my bad. My ECU programmer insisted, ''distilled water FIRST OF ALL and then the ethylene glycol" The same opinion has it a very respectful forum member here in Greece which was for many years in USA and was working with NASCAR racing team in Illinois, he suggested ethylene glycol at the absolutely necessary amount (for corrosion, pump lubrication etc) and the rest distilled water.
  25. I have problem in cold starts, i think my cooland takes too long to come to the proper temperature and that costs me in fuel consumption. I guess that happens because my cooland mixtrure is wrong. The 33% is from Motul G11 specifications. The book says 40% to cover all the countries.
