Hi, Damo. I'm looking for someone who knows about VCDS codes - I'm clueless. I've just fitted a pair of genuine Skoda LED Number Plate light units to my Fabia 3. Although they're not listed for the Fabia, I noticed Brian (bj78) had fitted them to his Fabia 3 and they looked good. The units are a perfect fit but I'm getting an Error message on the dash for Number Plate Lights. I messaged Brian to see how he got round it and he told me that the new lamp units have to be activated through VCDS. Normally, I would go to the Skoda dealer for this but I live on a Scottish Island with no Dealer and my next service is over a year away.
There are a couple of VCDS consoles in local garages here and Brian has given me the following narrative:

Anpassung
Leuchte25KZL HA60 ( this is the numberplate led light )
Lasttyp 25 auswählen (load type)
Wert auf 43 allgemeine LED anpassen ( set value to 43 )
Dimmwert AB 25 auswählen ( Dimvalue AB set to 25)
Wert auf 127 anpassen ( Set value to 127)
Double Dutch to me but, if I take this to a local garage, will they know what code(s) to enter to activate the lights? The instructions that came with the lamp units referred to a five digit code from the 'spare parts catalogue' which has to be entered but I'm not sure which of the above is the correct code.
