    MDI Retro Fit

Thats the bits I am waiting for :'( the pocket with the MDI slot. Just thought I would test out the other parts and was pleased that it worked with out having to get out the VCDS. But did take a dump of the settings before starting just to ensure that nothing went wrong. I have been told 2 - 3 weeks for the little tray and thats only listed as LHD so should be interesting not expensive parts either.

    MDI Retro Fit

I decided to have a go at retro fitting an MDI into my UK spec Yeti I have got hold of the following parts 5N0 035 342B - MDI Unit and it also came with this Also got a MDI to IPOD cable It did come with a cable but I dont think it would have worked so ordered a 36418 cable from Kufatec as this looked more the fit (Apparently Kufatec makes wiring harnesses for VW in Germany) I have tested the unit and all works ok as far as I can tell. the ipod and an iphone work show on the screen and play. No software update needed to enable the MDI The above statement is true but it will give an error in the log as its not enable on the Canbus gateway its nothing that will stop it working but if you want it all correct then you will need to hook a Vag Com unit to the car or try and get you local skoda dealer to change it. I am just awaiting some parts to complete the install mainly MDI pocket so that the cable housing fits into to complete the install I will update this thread with some more pictures and install information when its done in the next few weeks. 24/04/2010 - Still waiting for a few parts told next 2 weeks 06/05/2010 - Still awaiting parts delay at factory 20/05/2010 - Got a delivery date of Week 24 so not long now 21/06/2010 - Have all of the parts now and the MDI tray is handed and only for left hand drive that could be why its not available in the UK no right version of the pocket Did the install in to the top tray that did involve cutting a hole for the MDI connector and all is working fine It's a faily simple install but you do have to pull some of the dash apart. And worth a note that you will need to take a dremel to the top box.

    Turn Signals

Having collected my car from a warranty repair to the headlights (xenon fault). The dealer warned me about replacing the Indicator bulbs. It will be around 32p for the bulb and around £84 to fit as its dealer only fitting. Not sure if that is for all yeti's or the only ones with xenon's fitted.
  8. May be of interest to some... I picked this up in local motoring shop you can also find them on ebay. I have moded mine with a switch to turn off the 12v so I dont have to keep unlugging things Gives you 2 * 12v / 2 * usb charging points as you can see sits nicely in the cup holder

  21. Thanks for the suggestion I will give it a try
  22. Well only 4 days old and the handsfree telephone is dead Infact its not an option the head head unit any more or on the MFD its gone !!!! Was making a phone call last night when it came up on the display Telephone and that was the last it was seen :'( Its almost as so the unit has been removed from the car ...... If I press the telephone button on the head unit it now just mutes the radio Its booked for skoda to have a look
  23. Collected Friday 5th in Aqua Blue And from the rear Picture of Columbus Sat Nav Showing Rear inside of Yeti
  24. I was quite please that the panoramic roof was an option not like on some cars your having a sun roof like it or lump it!!! you can choose if you want it or not. Myself personally have left the roof off my Yeti order because with my last few cars that have had sun roofs I have opened them when I first got the car to check its working and have never opened the roof or the internal cover after.
