  1. What size winter do peopel recommend then? Am on 235/45/18 and I'm struggling to find right sizes in other sizes to avoid messing the Speedo up too much Is a 2.4% difference acceptable? (245/40/18)
  2. hmmm, hadnt even thought about the rolling difference. i know it was pretty close between the 225/40/18 and the 205/55/16. hmmm, better go find an online calculator
  3. hi, i'm sure this has been asked before, so i'm sorry if it has! at the moment we have a mk2 2.0 tdi 170 superb estate with 16" alloys which have our 205/55/16 winter tyres on. I'm assuming that the bolt pattern has not changed between the mk2 and mk3, so my only worry is that the brakes will be bigger on the 220 stopping our tyres from fitting. at the mo the mk3 has 235/45/18 wheels on in SEL DSG Guise. Would anyone be able to hazard a guess as to weather our 16"'s will fit, or if i am going to have to go bigger. Thanks
  4. Our 2010 2.0tdi estate seems to have developed some air conditioning problems. With the recent hot weather whenever the car is stationary in traffic, or going slowly (say in rush hour or city centre traffic) the air coming from the vents quite quickly get warm, even with the system set to auto (higher fan speed) and both controls set to 19 degrees, in fact at times opening the windows gets cooler air then what's coming from the AC. I had the system regassed, but the problem persists, the system still blows warm air at times. The garage suggested changing the compressor as they thought the clutch wasn't working correctly, but they then spoke to an ac specialist and decided to change the pressure sensor. While the system is a bit better, i'm testing the system in a max of 25 degrees, not the 32 we had on holiday when it was really a problem. Should the system blow cold all the time, or should it go warmer and colder, with warmer being air warmer than what's outside? I know it's a daft question, but the wife drives the car most of the time, and to be honest I don't normally take that much notice of what the ac normally gets up to! Thanks
  5. does this come with a 3g modem already built in?? if so, where do you put a sim card for it? cheers
  6. I'm wanting to retrofit mdi to our superb estate. Whats needed? I have a columbus in the car, and i'm quite happy for the cable to come out in the glovebox rather than the centre console. However there seems to be kits that are cables only, kits with boxes of electronics, and kits with some sort of box/holder. So which kit would be the right one, and does it need any coding? Cheers
  7. Ok, can expand my search a little Ebay best, or does someone either have one, or suggest another site? Cheers
  8. Are all those just plug and play, or do they need coding in?
  9. Still running the old skool stuff then If I ever get round to it I have a bit one, genesis quad mono, DLS A5 (the big three), and somehow I have ended up with 2 genesis profile sub ultras, dunno which is going in yet!. Sub is a cdt and I have a JL w6 on stand by. Head unit is either stock or Kenwood dnx525 if I can get the Bluetooth working again. No fronts as yet, may leave as standard, but add in a 3" sealed dynaudio unit in the door to help with the awefull standard mid position Need to find out myself where the cables are going, and remember how to do a boot build.
  10. No idea marko, but good luck doing it. What are you sticking in this time?
  11. Ebay seems to be devoid of those. Any suggestions of the best place to get one?
  12. Doing a bit of digging, it seems that my oneplus 5 dosent support rsap. Do all the skoda bluetooth modules need rsap, or do some later ones support a different connection?
  13. Hi, Wasn't sure what numbers you needed, so I have attached a pic if the unit. It won't let me one plus 5 connect at all, and it looks like I would only get phone, as I can't see any Bluetooth audio option in the menus Thanks
  14. Hi, I have a 2010 superb with a Bluetooth module Trying to connect my one plus 5 to it seems to be a minefield. The phone thinks it's connected, the car doesn't, and although the phone thinks it paired, it won't connect after. Does anyone have any idea if a more modern Bluetooth unit will allow me to connect. Cheers
  15. yeah, sorry i have the bluetooth unit under the seat. Would be interested in checking out a DAB columbus, nice to see your not too far away (Sunderland here) Anyone else have any knowledge of the chinese android units? cheers
  16. Need some advice from the assembled knowledge that briskoda has gathered within these virtual walls. I have my skoda superb, and a couple of years ago i got a kenwood dnx525 and shoved it in. I have never been that impressed with it, and now the blueooth on it is giving me serious problems. I have a oneplus 5 that will only connect as a phone with no media, so i cant play any music or radio from it (the cricket while in france!). The wifes oneplus 2 will connect correctly, but the bluetooth stutters and will not play correctly, so we end up with pauses in what ever we play every 30 seconds or so. I also had the same problem with my old HTC One m8, and kenwoods support has so far utterly hopeless (can you try an iphone is the best they have managed) I have issues with paying £50 for a garmin map update every year considering how utterly hopeless the garmin nav is in general have sealed its fate for me. So its going to come out. The question is what to replace it with. I have the original columbus, but that dosent have DAB which i would like. So do i go for a newer columbus (or other oe unit with dab and nav) Is there a better alternative to the kenwood (alpine, pioneer, kenwoods dnx516?) Or does anyone have any experience with the chinese android head units, would be interted to know what they are like to use and the general audio quality, i have seen the latest andround 7.1 units, but am unsure how good (or bad they really are) Thanks for any help!
  17. Well, Thursday is new bike day. Went to a local dealer to look at a Bergman 400 which i found out they had sold but not taken off the website to see a BMW F650cs there. Ideal for me, 650cc, 50hp and a belt drive so should be perfect for year round commuting. come with a load of invoices and receipts including one for new belt drive 3 weeks ago! Wasnt expecting some of the insurance quotes for it, £1300 quotes for a multibike policy for that and my scooter. In the end i have had to get a new policy with zero NCB for £550 with 4000 miles a year on it. Collection thursday night, have to get the hang of filtering with gears now! pictures later if you want to see the unique styling of it!
  18. has anyone got any experiences of the hood motorbike jeans?
  19. revit airwave 2 on its way, and also bought some revit stelvio shoes/trainser/boots. manged to ride in this morning in just my aldi jeans, rather than my work trousers + over trousers and the nre boots, much nicer experience. think the aldi trousers either need shortening in the leg, or i need to get something a little better as the aldi trousers have all the CE armour, but there quite thick with padding/filling. think some kevlar jeans are needed!
  20. had a look in the local bikes shops, but not much choice on the mesh jackets. one place had an alpinestars jacket which was quite nice, but i hate walking around like an advertising hording, so unless it comes in something a bit more subtle than black with a white logo its out gonna check out stuff a bit more when i get back from holidays. i like the look of the airwave jacket that CWard mentioned, esp in some of the lighter colours instead of black, better for visibility and not soaking up so much heat from the sun!
  21. as summers arrived (however temporarily that may be) i'm currently roasting alive in my gear (RST jacket and over trousers) can anyone suggest some decent summer gear on a sensible budget? either thin over trousers or jeans, with a thin jacket to go with it preferably with protection in them. cheers
  22. thats put such a smile on my face this morning. how to look like a total badass, while secretly bricking it!
  23. can just about get the ball of my feet down, which is better than the tip toes i get down on my scooter. dealer mentioned about lowering kits for them which would make it a bit better. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705115354504
  24. anyone know anything about Kawasaki Versys 650?? just been to have a look at one local to me, quite like it, but wanna check if there are any big problems with them
