New Badges fitted with pictures
S400DDS replied to blueR36's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have these fitted to my 2010 FL Octy. The rear is a perfect fit. The front you will have to remove the locating pins. And the wheel caps are spot on too. -

So what is the best all round VAG engine?
S400DDS replied to Toxicvrs's topic in General Automotive Chat
Chocolate camshafts though... :-/ -
Looks fantastic. I'm just back last weekend from a trip to Glencoe, Fort Augustus and Skye. Looking to head to Cape Wrath, Applecross in the summer. Some stunning scenery all the way there and back (from Edinburgh). Love it.

So what is the best all round VAG engine?
S400DDS replied to Toxicvrs's topic in General Automotive Chat
Anybody have any experience with the 1.4 TSi Turbo in the new Polo BlueGT? 140 bhp (ps) with ACT (cylinder deactivation) giving it 61mpg, 107g/km cheap road tax, whilst keeping a modest 7.6s 0-60mph time (3dr DSG). Looks like a perfect car for the missus when the price comes down. Any word on it being used in any other VAG cars? -
Would these fit Thule bars? Also do thru fit the the FL Mk2?

Didn't see Nessie this time... Ah well, better go back time and time again, just in case. ;-) -
Mk2 Octavia vRS so I presume they're LEDs?
-
My Octy Mk2 FL has xenons and the DRLs stay on with the dipped beam. I've set them to dim to 30% though so I don't look like a ****. Want me to post up pics/VCDS screenshots?

New Badges fitted with pictures
S400DDS replied to blueR36's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
To crystallise this once and for all, here are the CORRECT part numbers to fit the from and rear of the mk2 Octavia (pre-FL and FL) 5J0 853 621 A - front of the Octavia 2 5J0 853 621 AAUL -will fit the rear of the Octavia 2. All locating lugs are in the correct position, and both badges curve the correct amount to fit the grille and bootlid. Simples. -

Loch Ness Monster Sighting: Has Sonar Technology Found Nessie?
S400DDS replied to VWD's topic in Off Topic Chat
Heading out on a 'high speed' RIB tour boat from Fort Augustus to Drumnadrochit. Not much chance of snapping pics as it's open air style and strapped into upright seats. Will report my findings soon. ;-) -
What did you do to your Skoda today?
S400DDS replied to RobClubley's topic in General Automotive Chat
What load rating did you have on? I was eyeing up RainSport 3 - 225/40 R18 92Y XL. Think that's plenty load rating? -

Just checked into the Highland Club in Fort Augustus. Here til Tuesday so will keep my eyes peeled. Hoping to get out on the Loch in either canoe/kayak or tour boat. Will let you know... -
Correct. If your registration is on retention certificate there is no further fee to be made. Your dealer should assign the plates for free. All they have to do is fill the appropriate part of the V5C and sent off your certificate with the logbook to the DVLA.

What happened to the self-cleaning Subaru brought out a couple of years ago?
-
Ach, can't make it either. As said above, take some pics. Maybe the end of May meet could be in the evening?
-
Welcome mate, I'm a newbie also. Picked up a red vRS myself recently too. Although it's a FL Octavia. Will be good to see what the meets are like on the forum. Possibly up for the Stirling meet end of the month.

Hmmm, interested in this. I'm a maybe. Also a Brisky newbie. :-) from Edinburgh, near Kenny.

M14x1.5p x 27mm long. ;-)

Your wheel dimensions are 18" diameter, 7.5" wide with an offset of 51mm. Otherwise known as: 18x7.5J ET51. Factory fit tyres are 225/40/R18. Can't remember the load rating off hand.

New tyres for 18 inch vrs wheels
S400DDS replied to abarth_1200's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Vreds are very good but wear a little fast. My next tyre (after I wear out these sketchy Avon ZZ3's) are hopefully the Goodyear Asymmetric 2's. Good report from many a mk5 and mk6 Golf GTI owner.
