  1. Be aware that you can get the FK1000P in a sample pot size, so you don't have to fork out for a big pot at nearly 20 quid. There is enough in that pot to do my car twice (Octavia) so should enough for your wheels with some to spare. Available here: http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,107,toView_1096.html and here: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sample-sizes/finishkare-1000p-high-temp-paste-wax-sample/prod_666.html
  2. Methinks there will be no answers to the questions posed to the OP. Two posts (other was duplicate of this) on day they signed up to Briskoda and haven't visited since. I suspect either willy-waving or provocateur.
  3. I didn't notice the right off bit. Good advice regarding getting it checked out if it's of interest. Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk
  4. Another one looks like it's just been added. Spec reads well. Could it be a blackline, or is it too old for that? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201512019142162?sort=default&model=octavia&page=1&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&price-from=7000&postcode=ox11aa&make=skoda&radius=1501&maximum-mileage=up_to_70000_miles&keywords=cr%20vrs&price-to=9000&search-target=usedcars&logcode=p
  5. Jonny5ive has a build thread of his vRoomster with various colour wheels. It's in anthracite grey....http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/209946-j5s-roomster-scout-215bhp-310ftlb/ This may give you a few ideas and it's quite an interesting project.
  6. Thanks. I don't think Simoniz still make it which is a shame as it was cheap and seems to work well.
  7. The roof didn't get a sprits but the BSD applied some time ago seems to have been revitalised :
  8. I gave the car a quick clean yesterday. Snow foamed with i-foam and washed with Born to be mild. I gave a few panels a sprits with some Simoniz Detailer wax I had to assist with drying, as the water is very hard here. Pleased with the way the water is running off the bonnet and panels: This is the rash of larger beads nearest to the windscreen:
  9. Be aware that there are some mats that don't really fit with a bluetooth module as Timmy outlined in this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/379252-auto-dsg-vrs-mats/?hl=%2Bmats#entry4448356
  10. Recently changed mine and found that it was a bit stiff on the first attempt to move it. A bit of bravery and it started to move. I had to wiggle it side-to-side after about an inch or so as it seemed to jam there but it did eventually come out. Yours should too!
  11. Well after a considerable wait it arrived, in fact two of them did as I had a moan at Amazon when the initial arrival date had passed. Like buses, both arrived on the same day, one from Hong Kong, one from UK storage. But you're not interested in that, and in answer to the question that has been the cause of this thread, I can confirm that it works with Carista loaded on my android phone (HTC m8s) using bluetooth! I also tested with Dash Commander successfully, so it seems this item is pretty much a guaranteed worker for Carista and Android/Bluetooth.
  12. Now I'm confused. Chris didn't edit his original post (#1234), he quoted it and changed the wording to ensure there wasn't any further misunderstanding (#1243). From reading #1245 it seems that the whole subject has been clarified via PM, so lets hope this is the last we see/hear of it.
  13. That's the way I read it. Perhaps the first use of the word 'layer' in the one sentence suggested some wax rather than dirt.
  14. Got round to washing the car for the first time in ages, iFoam followed by Born to to mild. Pretty sure the BSD was re-invigorated (open hose sheeted off nicely) but put some more on anyway. The result in light rain is rather nice (oh to have my DSLR with me): Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk
  15. I swapped mine out a couple of weekends ago for an Amundsen+, haven't decided what to do with it yet. If I decide to sell, I'll see about putting it on Briskoda.
  16. And fitted the day after with no significant problems. Many thanks for the ease of transaction and nice to have met you. I hope you weekend at the coast was all you were hoping for.
  17. After receiving the cable and the aerial (from different places) in the Friday post, I met up with a fellow Briskodian on Friday evening and exchanged notes for the Amundsen, mic and loom and GPS antenna. All fitted on Saturday without any major incident. Just need to get the new shape facia to finish it off. Job's a good 'un!
  18. LOL, I like the Lada touch.... Ooh, and you need to put yer phone on charge!
  19. Marvelous thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to clear any code with Carista, when my new ODB Elm 327 thingy arrives (finally!!).
  20. To quote other areas of this fora...pictures or it didn't happen....
  21. Based on for the advice thus far and some swapping of emails, I've ordered the cable that I posted a link from DABonwheels, as it has the angled connector (SMB) at one end, is of a very similar spec to the RG316 co-ax and a FAKRA type Z at the other aerial end). I went with them as it will be with me in a couple of days rather than weeks from China (still thanks for the advise KBphoto! ). The one thing that I've not mentioned and has sprung to mind is whether I'll need any coding doing..I don't have maxidot or MF steering wheel, so not sure what the Amundsen+ will need to integrate with. Can anyone advise? I've looked at the VCDS map several times and may have a bit of a trip to do to the nearest owners to me.. Again, cheers for all help provided, previously and to come. .
  22. Some light drizzle seems to show that the BSD applied in September is still working. Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk
  23. So it seems that fakra connectors are the same as SMB, and there may be a need for a 90 degree angled connector at the radio end. Has anyone found that to be the case in an Octavia, mines a FL Adam, so hopefully the existing FM is fakra. I've had a search for red cables with no success, however if angled SMB is required, this looks like a good option, being low loss: http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic_PDCF5500L.asp Anyone agree/disagree? BTW,thanks everyone for your input...:-)
