So, tonights tea was..........................

I drive mine in Sport mode about 30% of the time and you are right, with the XLR in R or R+ mode & Sport selected on the DSG, forward progress is fairly savage. I would call it "Hooligan mode"!! So my XLR stays in N mode. I took the XLR off of my my wife's old Karoq 1.5 DSG when we traded it in for her current EV & fitted it to my Superb to see if it would sharpen up the D mode throttle response which, even with the stage 1 Revo remap, was still a bit hesitant off the line. It works quite well. I was thinking about getting the DSG re-mapped as well but I think that might be a step too far. I dropped a friend off at the local train station in the Superb the other day & he was astonished at the effortless acceleration compared to his 2.2 Diesel Mondeo Vignale - which he has had chipped as well. Think he was getting around 245bhp & silly torque numbers. The Superb 280 Estate really is a car that I would find very hard to part with because there's not much else out their that comes anywhere close to it for performance, space, comfort or for similar money.

Well it wasn't Soup & it wasn't beans on toast either. It was in fact two Strawberry Jam Sandwiches. Hit the spot. Two Pork Chops defrosting in the Fridge for tomorrow though 🥩 -
Do the Stage 1 remap first & then see if you need the pedal box. I also seem to remember that there is an "Audi Throttle" setting buried in the cars software somewhere but that is going to need VCDS or similar to access it. I have a Race Chip XLR fitted to mine set to Normal mode because anything else is too aggressive.

What have you done to your Superb III today?

Did you take the wheels off or leave them on? I did mine with the wheels on & used a 90 degree screw driver attachment. A very handy tool. -

Not sure what to have tonight. A big bag of Maltesers earlier has scuppered my appetite somewhat which will mean at 9.30pm I will be ravenous for something. Could be some soup & bread or, some bean on toast. Decisions, decisions. 🥣or 🫘? -

Well I tried to listen to the ventilated seat noise level in the Kona but TBH I couldn't hear them over the background hubbub coming from the 3 other passengers en-route to our monthly breakfast meet up. Failed test. On the plus side, the remote control of the heated seats via my wife's phone App worked well though. All 4 seats & steering wheel nice & toasty when we got into the Kona on what was a chilly day. As I said earlier I don't use the heated seats in my Superb & it doesn't have a heated steering wheel either. Just not something I've ever bothered with. My wife on the other hand uses the passenger heated seat in the Superb all the time. -

Bin men. Just seen them spill loads of paper & cardboard outside our house. Half hearted attempt to clear some of it up & left the rest.

TBH I've not used the ventilated seats in her car so I can't say. I'm driving it on Tues so I'll do a test. -

So they don't blow smoke up your backside then 🤣 My wife's Kona has heated & ventilated seats. My view is that the heated seats give you piles & the ventilation cools them down! Don't think I've used the heated seats in my Superb🤔 -

As intimated earlier, tonight was indeed a Chinese take away. Enough left over for breakfast, dinner & tea tomorrow!! -

My bass was pretty chunky too. -
I have a Revo Stage 1 with the std Turbo. +80bhp. Installed a couple of years ago by a local Revo & VAG specialist. The acceleration in Sport mode is almost savage. Even D mode it is very quick for everyday driving. I also have a Race Chip XLR Throttle pedal fitted which was swapped to my Superb from my wife's Karoq when we moved it on. This takes out the slight hesitation on the DSG & TBH in anything more than normal mode (on the XLR) & the response is almost undrivable. Normal setting on the XLR is fine & overall the car is plenty quick enough for me.

Following the Friday theme I defrosted the last Sea Bass & poached it in Soya Sauce, Lime juice, garlic, ginger, Bay leaves, Coriander & served with some Pilau Rice on the side. Had to fight off one of our cats but all good in the end. -

Vitamin D supplements are the answer. Been taking them for a year or so & not one sniffle to date 🤞 -

Another wallet busting visit to Costco today. As usual we went in for some basics like kitchen roll, cat litter & a case of beer for Moi & came out with extra catering packs of XL size Pork & Barnsley Lamb chops, a wall mounted garden hose, three polo shirts & a shed load of other bits & pieces. Looks like a chunky Pork chop for tonight. -

I replaced mine last year as part of a reversing camera upgrade. Had a devils own job to get the old one out which I managed to break one of the tangs off. And that was with the rear hatch panel off as well so I had access to it on both sides. Skinned a few knuckles that day!
