Octavia Mk4 aftermarket towbar
It is with great relief that I can report ours is correctly plated. MK4 Octavia which fell off the production line on 12 March 2021 fully infected with the other issues reported on the KPH/MPH thread. Guess it was lucky enough to have received an early dose of the vaccine to prevent this issue. At least I can be thankful for something at long last!!

Thanks, lets hope that it is for the issues we are all suffering. My understanding is that they are in the throes of launching a revamped Kodiaq that is now available with the high tech features that have been causing so much trouble on the Octavia 4. Words fail!!

Can I join the Ex-Demo Owners Club. I also voiced my concern that my car had been driven by a senior member of staff for a couple of months and guess what, he didn't notice the re-occurring error messages. Like you all they were totally unaware until I reported it. I have been told they likewise want my car for an unknown period and will collect it and leave me with a courtesy car but at present haven't been informed what it will be. Anyway, things are moving now hopefully in the right direction. Best of luck everyone - our conjoint efforts appear to have worked not to mention the legality issue re Imperial/Metric readings. Happy Easter to you all.

Likewise I have received personal calls from both Pietro Panarisi (1/2hour) and two calls from another lady again about 1/2 hour each and a promise of another on Tuesday to keep me updated with my issues. I was told that this is high on the agenda of the UK Board being driven with Technical at the Factory. Likewise I am impressed that al long last we are being listened to and have been able to get things registered and more especially driven towards a resolution. Most positively that we are now being updated on progress which helps to reassure. Further from conversations with my dealership I know that they are also liaising with the Aftersales Manager there - Brilliant. I have suggested that they may consider issuing a statement on this site in confirmation of their plan for resolutions to our issues.

Definitely the car mats do we're using our from our Mk3 but the boot mat in the estate is slightly oversized!

Also having emailed [email protected] I likewise got a delivery failure message with a ladies name, I think it was Sandra somebody @VAG.de and yesterday I received a call from that office and during the conversation I queried the delivery failure and the caller was able to quote my email confirming receipt. She added that the named lady was a recent retiree and that their email group recipient hadn't been edited following her retirement. I was informed that the senior management of Skoda UK were taking our complaints very seriously and that Kate Laws had been dedicated to deal personally with our individual complaints so keep sending them in. I was further informed that there was to be a conference call with the factory today on this subject.

In our two previous Octavias we toured extensively in Spain with caravan - neither car had tow-bar and had tow-bar and electrics module fitted after market. We suffered no stability issues nor did we overheat despite on a couple of occasion driving in temperatures in excess of 40 deg C and aircon on max.

If at all possible can you please try to obtain full details of the update ('Package of Measures') This will be a code similar to; 97EQ which was one released on 25th November last. including details of the 'Criterions' (individual items/components updated on your indivudual car) which will enable us to compare where we each are and clearly show the affected items being updated. ~One of the major issues we have been suffering is that we are not being kept informed by Skoda. We can then compare it with our own Infotainment Head Part No and have a definitive. Many thanks in anticipation and good luck, hope it is successful for you.

Thanks Phil, the greater the number complaining obviously the greater our chance of prioritising a resolution from Skoda. Incidentally just heard from a friend who took delivery of his Seat Ibiza last week - that went back to the dealership this morning with serious Infotainment issues. Seems it's a bit like Covid and VAG are super spreaders!!!!

Thanks. Very interesting, totally different information to mine (see attached pic) This gets more and more interesting as within an exceptionally short time frame Skoda appear to have fitted several differing Head Units so no doubt whatsoever they are well aware of the issues.

Out of interest what is your Device Part No? Mine and the ones we have correlated, which have the issue is PN:- 5E3035816 which is now superseded by 3 later versions 5E3035816B, C & D. All the later versions do not appear to suffer any of the issues we have been discussing however received this from our supplying dealership, who are most helpful and supportive, in response to them raising it with Skoda Tech' quote: "Unfortunately I can't confirm that a later unit would be supplied from parts with software that would resolve the complaint. As the problem is under investigation I would suggest postponing any repair until more information is received". What is needed is to generate sufficient complaints to motivate Skoda to prioritise the issue supplying a remedy PDQ.

Yes I was told by local dealership that HBA is not available without the Ful Matrix Light setting however it appears to be so in the "Shop" at £149.99" It was always on my previous Octavias which didn't have the luxury of Full Matrix Lights! Another loss of facility..

Thanks, That is the one which is not available on my car. Which model do you have and does it have Full Matrix Headlights which mine was advertised with but not supplied with but that is another issue I am dealing with separately.

I totally agree. Now we have managed to get HJ on board we do need to keep up the momentum and give him all the help he needs to be able to progress this on our behalf. As regards the Travel Mode I too was disapointed that I didn't have it available as like many others of you we do spend time on the Continent towing which is why we bought the car.

You are exactly right, the more owners who continue to pressure Skoda the more likely we are collectively going to get a satisfactory resolution. This is a numbers game otherwise we get 'Walked Over' and they get to keep our hard earned money.

If it is of consolation,, several of us have received acknowledgement from HJ stating that he is in touch with the Head of PR & Press who have responded already requesting details of the affected vehicles.VIN etc so we appear to be achieving more than we have as individuals or our respective dealerships have. We keep our fingers crossed and remain objective.
