  1. Use the vcds members map on here to find someone local to code it for you. I would imagine that a dealer would charge and hours labour. Maybe also try and find a local indy vag specialist.
  2. No it wont, all it will erase is any settings saved....radio presets, saved navigation points and a few other settings.
  3. Have you tried reverting to factory settings on the unit and also doing a hard reset?
  4. I swapped from a bolero to a columbus with no issues at all. Have you had the columbus coded to the car?
  5. Glad you got one sorted. Should of gone the petrol route. :p
  6. Never seen one of these engines before in the flesh but im sure it changable from the top. Some one will be along soon to tell you. Sometimes I think to my self that if you not able to locate an oil filter you should not be servicing your car.
  7. I always treat my girl with Shell V power nitro petrol :p I seen a minor increase in fuel economy but not enough to justify it on that basis alone. My car is mapped and does perform better on the better fuel.
  8. I had my previous mazda 3 2.0 diesel done and it really didnt do much for performance even with a custom map.
  9. Make sure you get the DPF gutted out and not removed as this will fail an MOT.
  10. Usually you agree to pay the diagnostic charge if no fault is found or the fault is not covered by warranty. I would imagine that the diagnostic charge will be included in the warranty claim. Maybe the dealer is trying to make a few more quid.
  11. Hi all, Can i please have some advice. I have an error code that keeps coming back and am advised i need to log the N75 duty cycle. Can any1 point me in the direction that if I was to do it myself. What software I would need to purchase. I can see lots on ebay that are really cheap but then the original that is very expensive. Whats the difference and will it do the job? Thanks in advance. Gary
  12. I have had a 2009 2.0 petrol and a 2007 2.0 diesel. Good cars in my opinion just watch for rust on rear arches. I also work at a mazda dealer and dont see many issues at all. Cant fault the 2 I have had.
  13. Would of rather gone the cash route. Bodyshop of my choice and a written quote. Plus no claim on file regardless of fault as this generally still puts up your premium. In the worse case scenario and she wouldnt go with the bodyshop of your choice, then insurance it is...
  14. When I had virgin all I did was run a coax upstairs from outside the house (or you could do it inside) and then ran it through the wall and into the 2nd box. With the virgin home networking it is not wireless as your box has to be pluged into your home network via ethernet cable. And if I remember rightly it isnt for TV it is just for recorded programs to be able to watch on the other box. If it was me In your position I would just use a splitter from the box downstairs and run the coax to the 2nd box. You will also have to have your second card activated by VM to work your 2nd box. I never had multiroom on my account but when I rang them they just activated it for me. When I cancelled my VM they said I had it and never paid for it.
  15. Hi all, I am looking at maybe upgrading my brakes to bigger ones. I get a little confused with the fitment of things but it seems alot just fit right on. Can anyone advise me on what I could look at doing in combination with my standard 18" alloys. I quite like the look of the Audi TTRS brakes. Also would this kind of thing need declaring to my insirance? and if so does it usually put the premium up or down being a brake upgrade? Many thanks in advance. Gary
  16. What power is it now running? Do you have a graph?
  17. That isn't the particular seller I used but is the same as what I have which is the V2.1 not the 1.5. Thanks
  18. I have always used one I got off ebay with no issues at all. My brother also uses the same one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TORQUE-ANDROID-Super-Mini-ELM327-V2-1-OBD2-OBDII-Bluetooth-Adapter-Auto-Scanner-/321119635389?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4ac438c7bd
  19. Custom remap all day long, tailored to the vehicle. All vehicles perform slightly different to each other. I would never go a tuning box or generic remap.
  20. A service and a cheapo valet.... In your mind a service is probably a 2 pound oil filter and 10 pounds worth of cheap 'oil'. The car will get a full service, MOT, tyres, brakes, fluids and any other repairs it needs to meet used car specs of a dealer. Fair enough some cars don't need much and make good money. I see a lot of cars go out at a loss because of poor checks prior to trade in. Lets also not forget that the salesman gets commission on that. Just because the car was bought in at lets say 5,000 and was sold for 7,000 does not mean the dealer are greedy and have made 2 grand.
