  1. But all the 3-4k off deals aren't attached to cheap finance offers. Tough to get a decent discount and 0% right now :(
  2. The Leon 1.4 140 had a 0-60 of 8.1s, the new 150 has a 0-60 of 7.9s It's a non-issue! Plus all the reviews have said that ACT fuel economy figures are more of a myth than a reality and in practice the savings aren't great. Fine if you get it, but not a big loss if you don't
  3. The 140 vs 150 performance figures are pretty much identical tbh. I wouldn't worry about it!
  4. A3 Sportback has the 1.8 engine. There's not a whole lot of choice out there though if you need that exact engine, no more, no less.
  5. Use a screenscraper like www.contracthireandleasing.com and compare
  6. Don't know anything about the Mk2, but I have a Mk3 1.4 TSI DSG. 1500 miles in, I get 45 mpg cruising the motorway at 75mph, 35 mpg doing short trips around town. Hope that helps!
  7. It is pretty expensive when you consider it's basically adding an SD card and GPS receiver to the Bolero unit which you get for free anyway. Still I do love my Amundsen, it's very good for a built in sat nav
  8. But then that surely applies to all of the many of the phones with similar sized screens? Of which there are many...
  9. 2k miles a month is 72k miles over the 3 years. A lot of driving! If you think about it you're not paying that much more to have a much smoother driving experience: 2.5 pence per mile £1.25 per hour (at average 50 mph) I'd take the GTD DSG and stump up the cash if I was doing that much mileage. If you really had to choose between those two though, it would have to be the GTD wouldn't it?
  10. Why let the facts get in the way of a good argument :p
  11. You're very aggressive, and also wrong All MQB diesel engines are brand new EA288 engines which aren't fitted to any other cars. Details on the engine here: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=228886.0
  12. Oh fair enough! Didn't realise they would sell to non-forces people
  13. It's not the same engine as the one in the A1, therefore your evidence is not admissible!
  14. Not very helpful for the vast majority of us then :p
  15. Actually the 1.6 TDI is a completely new unit (EA288) for the MQB platform. http://blog.caranddriver.com/detailed-vw%E2%80%99s-new-2-0-liter-ea288-four-cylinder-tdi-diesel/ So the Fabia would have been an older generation engine which was less efficient
  16. A belt should be smoother, but will need replacing.
  17. It doesn't have a chain, it has a belt! And redesigned from the ground up Better to think of it as a completely different engine with the same capacity. In any case though, it's too new to know if there any problems that will crop up further down the line.
  18. Have to be honest, those wheels don't quite do it for me. The anthracite stock vRS wheels look great imo
  19. Take a photo? Old Columbus and new Columbus are different. For the new Octy, you need to see if it has the smaller screen or not. Smaller screen w/o nav = Bolero, w/ nav = Amundsen. Large screen = Columbus
  20. You're in the Octavia section, so I say go for it! On a more serious note, it might be a good idea to go down to a dealer with the family and see if you all fit into it. Dog might be more difficult though :p
  21. I can see the confusion... the website implies 6 speed, the brochure states 7. I have gone for a petrol personally so don't have direct experience!
  22. I'll be looking out for this now when I get my car!
