  1. I doubt i'll be spending anything on one off software bud. I've already been in touch with the tuner, discussing turbo upgrades, so that's where my money will be going - as well as a brake upgrade. I'm not happy though. The tuner has never had any dealings with littco - which surprised me. He's tried to steer my towards turbo technics. He said littco wont work with the apr tune. How the 'eck would he know that if he's never dealt with one? He said i would need different software to run it. Maybe its me that doesnt know anything.
  2. Hi there I'm a disgruntled sheff utd fan. It seems weve bought some halfwit from liverpool called brewster. Could you put mo salah to sleep and do us a swap please? I knew from the beginning we'd bought the wrong one. Right. Back on thread.
  3. You get what you pay for. Will mr superchip come and rebuild your turbo on your drive if it goes tits up? I think not. Apr aren't offering stage 2 anymore, so if it were me, i'd find a revo dealer who has the best reviews.
  4. In short, prevention is better than a cure. That's my thinking.
  5. Considering the development of this upgrade was based on a golf, i think you're asking for trouble going without one newbie.... if i may be so bold sir....
  6. What's the chances that this is related to your uprated turbo and you'll have to put your hand in your pocket to uprate some other ancillary to compliment this upgrade? You're not having much luck TBS. I feel for you. Pm on its way....
  7. First off, to newbie69, i'm commenting here as i don't want to clutter your 272 remap thread with stuff that's relative to the 280. I don't want you thinking i'm being rude or ignorant. Today i had the apr stage 2 flash done. I thought stage 1 was good, but this is even better, but it comes at a cost. The downpipe and mid pipe (without resonator) cost 1045 quid alone. The remap was 120 quid. I'm still on the standard spark plugs because the tuner can't get any better ones till March. It's now running 1.8 bar of boost. Its 385bhp and 412ft/lb of torque. It will take a while to get used to because it pulls even harder now than stage 1. I'm not so sure if i like the exhaust note though when pressing on. It sounds like the baffles are being blown out the standard backboxes. Above 2600 revs there's a boom. I think i can live with this, i'll just have to drive slower if i'm carrying passengers. As for economy, time will tell, but my 12 mile drive home from the tuners showed 20.9mpg. Gulp! Edit - Just to say that after a few more run outs, mpg has gone up. Some runs have returned 28mpg, others have done 32mpg, so no worse than stage 1 was.
  8. I've got a paltry 390ps and 558nm. Money not well spent then! Roscio - It's a cobra sport downpipe and a mid pipe without resonator. It's a bit loud, but it is a bit more savage than a stage 1.
  9. I'll be able to give you some 280 stage 2 figures to compare to on friday. Tomorrow i'm having the downpipe done, and friday it's booked in for the stage 2 flash and RR session. Keep up the good work newbie
  10. Koni actives are fitted to my combi. There's no 'bouncing' any more. I'm still running on the factory springs. Get some fitted, it will be a comfier ride for your passengers.
  11. Car was due to have its stage 2 today, but all I ended up with was the tvs stage 3 dsg upgrade. Some months ago I had a 3inch centre pipe fitted with a vibrant resonator. The place that did it made such a bodge job of it, that the garage who were doing the upgrade today said that the milltek downpipe wouldn't mount to my new centre section. The guy that fitted my centre section has welded it to my downpipe instead of sleeving and clamping it. On top of this, someone has placed the new resonator that close to the prop shaft, that it is occasionally touching it. You can see a one inch wide band around the prop where the black paint has been rubbed off. :( Ive been to a proper exhaust shop this time, and they'll make and fit me a 3inch system from the turbo back to the Y pipe for a grand (no resonator). Once this is done, I can go back and get the stage 2 remap done.
  12. I've decided I like the 280 that much that mine's getting a black Friday stage 2 upgrade. Life's too short.
  13. Good advice. I tried it once, and even though mine is 4x4 (without dcc), once was enough for me. The standard shocks were removed and firmer ones installed. The caravan doesn't bounce around now. OP - what shockers are on yours? Mine were Monroe....
  14. Has she clobbered the other side yet Chris? I enjoyed reading this thread, thanks
  15. The guys that fitted my 'cooler said it was the largest one they seen for this platform. I wouldn't know, as I've never had the nerve to try and fit it myself. The shop owner knocked me 50 quid off it for cash. Bargain.
  16. I've got their intercooler, as fitted to the golf r. It was fitted earlier this year. Haven't had a problem with it
  17. What are their internet reviews like? Don't get stung again ;) Good luck whatever you do.
  18. If this specialist has had so many failures and he's still in business, it can't be because he's put his hands in his pockets for refunds can it.
  19. Sorry to his this TBS :( Did you sign a disclaimer before the remap?
  20. Sorry, no, I don't have the equipment to do it. Besides, if it ain't the turbo flutter I hear, it's the tshhh from the foam filter. And if it's not that, it's someone saying - can you slow down, I feel sick lol
  21. The consensus on the vw forum is that its blocked off to prevent water getting in, but what do I know.
  22. My centre section has been changed for a 3inch s/s pipe. The centre res has been replaced by this https://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1527_1032_1054&products_id=292&osCsid=7314c85bb8343fbbdc280f8761ae5ae4 and there's no drone. It's slightly louder than before - nothing too intrusive though. I like the new sound.
  23. This is the way I look at it - if it ain't broke, why change it and you wont get the money back that you've invested in it. Why let someone else benefit from it if it still a good car. I only tend to change my car when it needs too much money spending on it to keep it roadworthy.
  24. Mine is a 280 estate. Are our exhaust systems the same? I've been to see an exhaust specialist about the same question. I asked about a golf r centre resonator delete and neither the golf f r or golf r estate would fit the skoda, because the resonator sits further back on the skoda. So I guess this answers your question if our systems are the same.
  25. My first remap was a so called 'apr low torque stage 1 remap', to run on 95 fuel. This gave 351 bhp, so I would say you are in the right area.
