It my be worth using vcds to code the flaps open to see if this makes a difference. Failing that, remove the springs from the flap motors on the mufflers whilst the flaps are open. This wont cost a dime in the search for answers.....

Correct. I eventually went high torque on stage 1 without it too, before deciding ecu stage 2 needed me 👍

numskull - TCU is dsg tune. My stage 1 tune - low torque map went to 352bhp and 355lb/ft stage 2 ecu and tcu stage 3 moved this up to 385bhp and 412lb/ft

I had the cupra r estate remus axle back system fitted to mine last week. (done by chriss fab shop on facebook) The cupra boxes only have one exit pipe so i asked the fabricator to make something which would allow me to keep the original chrome tips, which he has done. He did a great job and the car sounds awesome. The dsg blips are everything i hoped they would be. The faster you go, the louder they are. Downshifts crackle too, and all this is without having to use sports mode (I'm at stage 2, so this will have played some part on the noise making).

I tow a 4 birth caravan and get 21 to 22 mpg, but then again mines remapped. It's a great towing machine.

I've had to sign disclaimers each time i have had an APR remap. APR wont allow the uploading of their maps until you do. You are on your own if the turbo goes.

They were fitted by Nick Wiley at Vented on facebook. They are glued on and are firmly in place. The car has had many a good soaking since these were installed and there's been no issues. I have made better rain guards for when the car is parked up and colour coded them, so they dont stand out as much as my first attempt.

I drove through torrential rain the other day and it didn't let anything in. I have though paid for a k&n air filter sock to cover the filter, Weeks ago i bought a roll of 3M magnetic tape. It's only a few mm thick and i made these for when the car is parked up, until i can find the time to make a better rain guard....

I've removed the springs in each actuator. Thing is, for 3 minutes after the car has been switched off, the actuators try and shut the flaps every 30 seconds or so. I really need to get the proper blanking kit, but i'm apprehensive about buying the wrong one. Someone showed me a link but i've lost it. It would be helpful if i had a photo of what the pin set up is. I've had my car up on the ramps but the cable going into the actuator is difficult to get off, even when the exhaust is dropped.

They're only small boxes, so it should be quite a bit louder for you

I plasti dipped the door handles on the passenger side of my car, and it made no difference to kessy I wasted my time though because it doesn't stand out against quartz grey.

I left the fitting to the professionals. And ive had no problems with the car.

Thanks for this Roscio. I've been reading on the audi forums, and some s4 owners have removed the spring from under the actuator so that the flaps can't move. I might give that a go. I've gone for the remus axle back from the cupra 300 estate. What have you gone for?

Does anyone have the part number for the 280 exhaust flap actuator please? I'm trying to find out how many pins the plug has that fits into it because i'm intending to blank these off when i get my new back boxes.
