  1. How's life in the slow lane Shy?
  2. clp automotive in Sheffield, but any reputable apr dealer could do this for you.
  3. Hi Eric I'm from the mg/rover club too. The superb combi is a good replacement for the mg/rover, but i do miss the chassis from the zt260, my previous car of 10 years. My first dabble into skoda's ended up being a dud, but not this time There's a least one former 260 owner on here that i know of, and this forum is full of useful info for you to read. Welcome
  4. My commute is 10 miles to work. 5 miles A & B roads, 5 miles on motorway. I get 28-32mpg, depending on traffic. My last car a v8 (which i had for 10 years) , only returned 23mpg, so i am well happy with this. Oh, and i'm on 390PS now.
  5. i was thinking the same. He's onto a winner if they do
  6. your video has gone. i am curious to hear the problem, because one of my back boxes makes a strange noise too
  7. Sorry Mario - i meant i wouldn't buy the remus cat back system. Good luck, in your quest
  8. Well spotted newbie! I have also spotted that on the supersprint website, the part number for the Y pipe is the same for the superb as it is for the ........... oh i've forgotten lol
  9. I wouldn't be buying this system. There's no guarantee that the centre res sits in the right place.
  10. The golf r estate remus exhaust is 2 grand - and you have to buy it as a cat back system - Stuff that, that's why i looked at the cupra And it goes without saying, that there would have to be an amount of fabrication to get this to fit....
  11. The dsg noise has come from a combination of downpipe and res delete. I can't say anymore than that because before the stage 2 map, i was running with a small vibrant centre res. The sound was just right then. Regarding remus - It's my own preference to all the other sounds I've heard. I just googled the part number for the boxes 796517 0500LR. I was considering scorpion back boxes from the golf r estate, because they can be bought for 200 quid each - but i/ve not been impressed by the video's i have seen and heard. As for the exhaust flaps, I'm prepared to put a terminator on the end of the sensors. If i want to go quietly, i'll walk.
  12. I was given a fixed price for the supply and fit of the downpipe, and they had the car all day. I think they under priced the job, hence their comment about not doing anymore. As for difference in power, combined with the next stage of map, then there is a slight improvement, but it's not worth the money. However it does make more noise once on the throttle. Dsg farts are aplenty. I have a res delete, which makes it sound 'orrible. I may decide to fit a centre res again, but my next exhaust mod i think, will be to fit remus back boxes for the cupra r st300 estate.
  13. Before i had the stage 2 map loaded, i had the downpipe fitted. After just 40 miles, the yellow engine light came on, but performance wasn't hampered. The guys that fitted my downpipe, said they would refuse to do another skoda superb, because it's too time consuming to fit.
  14. Isn't 'we buy any car' a business? only saying............
  15. @eflensin - you've forgot the door handles :)
  16. Good luck with the new motor TBS - don't break it
  17. the dq250 box is supposed to be good for 400nm, but many people have gone beyond this and it's been ok When i had my ecu stage one high torque map done, i never bothered with a dsg tune and i didn't encounter any problems either.
  18. How are you getting on with this? I'm thinking of getting it....
  19. a little clip for you.... video-1613845317.mp4
  20. According to the guys at exhaustsuk, the golf r flaps are 1/4 inch bigger than the skodas
  21. How about 2 grand for front brake discs alone. I know because i looked before buying my superb. Oh - And the fact that they're not type approved for towing chalked it off my list of possibles.
  22. @mac11irl Did you get anywhere with this Op?
  23. I chose the superb because it does everything i wanted. I swore there would never be another skoda in my house, but you know what, all cars are flawed in some way. The perfect car doesn't exist. Instead of buying something else and throwing money at it after you've got bored with the way it is, why not keep what you have and make better. You won't have to suffer a loss when trading it in either. It already owes you, so keeping it would be my choice. It is nice to be in a position to buy a newer car, but you could buy something else that gives you a headache. Good luck.
  24. Don't forget, my downpipe is different, so i would be giving you a false idea. My right hand side backbox is rattling when starting from cold. It was rather annoying this morning because my petrol flap was froze solid and i couldnt get my scraper out to clear the snow. When i find my camera i'll do the vid anyway.
