Warranty repairs are free. It's more related to on goodwill claim.

If the tracker plugs into the obd port which they now do its quite obvious to a thief the tracker is fitted within 30cm to 50cm of the obd port. Easily found and removed by the thief.

Your dealer sounds stupid in assuming that there would be no internal engine damage. They should of said we need to fit the new chain and see if it has caused any lasting damage. So get the £270 back and I would snap up the £500 new engine. It will come with new injectors and the revised chain set up. These engine's are around £1300 plus vat to buy plus labour. Your sloping drive should not be an issue if it slopes up or down. The oil pump strainer is on the left hand side as you look at the engine with the bonnet open.

The clutch is definitely a manufacturer defect. I have seen about 6 or 7 fail in the last 2 year's . It is clearly not fit for the purpose. Not seen an Luk failure only the Sachs.

The ac is duty cycled at 2%. So yeah never truly off.

Under the carpet left hand side. Suffer from corrosion on the terminals due to water leaks through the pollen filter. Also left front kick panel there are multiple loom connectors that corrode due to water leaks usually through the pollen filter housing.

The whole thing is rubbish. The touchscreen is just one of a number of faults with this entertainment unit. The hardware unit in the glovebox often freezes and the dealer's are told by Suk to carry out a Fes clear down on the hardware unit (function clear down ) which is basically a reboot of the hardware unit. I would just continue taking it back again and again to your dealer. Try videoing the faulty unit. Your dealer is hoping that you will go away as it's hard for them and lengthy to get the correct repair. Skoda will only pay the dealer 12 minutes labour to replace the hardware unit. The dealer will spend hour's proving and justifying the hardware unit is at fault. They are fingers crossed you will give up.

Yep once you know there weak point. My friend has a tool for Vag barrels he can open any in under 5 minutes with no damage. To be fair I can open them in 5 minutes with damage.

Had to get into a Ford Transit last week the rear door lock and the side door lock had packed up. I broke into it so I could fix it for the customer. Surprisingly easy I was in after less than 15 minutes and that was in front of the customer so I was being diplomatic. Take your tools out.

Turn ac on. Takes 1 minute.

Yep. Drilling the rivets is the way forward. Quite rare for the rear window regulator to pack up. Most likely to be the plastic pin has fallen out of the window glass. This plastic pin is in 2 parts an outer plastic ring with a plastic pin. This pin goes through the regulator and through the glass. Iirc there is an inspection hole for the pin and it's fiddly and tricky but possible to fit another without removing the rivets or regulator.

It's legal to change the mileage. It's illegal to sell a vehicle if knowingly the mileage is more and you fail to inform the new owner or prospective buyer.

Not that I know off. Also remember that the immobiliser is in the odometer so your keys will need coding. Also a second hand odometer may need coding to the vehicle.

Your Skoda dealer cannot change the mileage forwards on a 2nd hand odometer. On a brand new odometer your Skoda dealer can change the mileage forwards but only once and it has to have travelled less than 100 km.

Probably not. If the system pressures are ok ie 10 bar high side and 2 bar low side ac turned on. This proves system is ok but they will not know density. The only way to know the density is to remove the refrigerant weigh it in grams or in other words an ac regas is the only way to know for sure.Just out of interest can they tell if your system needs a regass without actually re gassing it in other words when they connect up their machine to your car will it tell them if the coolant is low

In general on vag engines minimum 2 bar oil pressure at 80 degree's c. Always start with an oil pressure test. As for collapsed oil filter's I actually changed one that was collapsed on a 1200cc Corsa it can and does happen.

Goodyear or uniroyals... Or Barum are good and iirc are made by Continental.

My money is on the heater elements. Remove the seat strip and replace. Might be worth getting some plasters they are tight fit. Don't forget the metal rings to re attach the leather to the squabs.

No need to remove glovebox. I don't know about the brushes. 2nd hand unit should be cheap enough.

Simply no. The mileage of the odometer will show the mileage that the 2nd hand odometer has done. You can pay one of the many mileage correction people to come and change the mileage.

I suspected petrol model's all along. I think Vag have had there sights firmly focosed on becoming the biggest worldwide manufacturer and they have done whatever it took to sell their wares.

The control ring for the variable vanes stick. Forte normally sorts it. If it's more advanced I remove the egr pipe and spray wd 40 in the hole whilst moving the actuator. Then a bloody good spanking down the motorway.

If it's really really bad I just repeat this procedure over and over.
