air con pump
sorry for late reply i was just running the car as the pump was growling a little as if the bearings where on the way out but didn't affect the running of the car in anyway and with not using the a/c at the time just left it for a while. guess what we are now getting some hot weather and i have no a/c lol so i need to get it sorted. is there a way of getting the original part number and make for the a/c pump without getting the pump taken off as the car would be stuck at the garage until i could get a new pump delivered ? can anyone tell me if it is a good idea to get the original pump re conditioned and get that re fitted or find a new replacement ? i take it is probably not a good idea to get a second hand one as you wouldn't know how much life that pump would have and could let you down at any time? cheers kev!

Tyres any recommendations
i bite the bullet and had 4x Michelin cross climate tyres fitted best deal i could find was £110 each fitted balanced and disposal of my old tyres. i went for the same size that was on the car when i bought it (225/40/18) the only thing i have noticed is a small increase of road nose but i expected that i have also noticed a better response on the steering the car dose feel a bit more responsive and more shore footed, to be honest there wasn't a hole lot wrong with the original tyres that where fitted i even thought of renewing like for like, i suppose its like some people say you have to pay for better quality and you do have to pay they are not cheap, but you do feel the difference just hope they live up to the hype of being a long wearing tyre.

brake fluid flush
would any diagnostic tool be able to do that or has it got to be a specific type? is it a job that would have to be done by Skoda main dealer or would any decent garage be able to do it? cheers kev!

brake fluid flush
hi everyone, i got a brake fluid checking tool the other day only a cheap pen type thing, had a look on YouTube for reviews and was surprised how accurate it was for a cheap bit of kit. to cut a long story short, if you have a look at my other posts i am not known for cutting story's short lol. anyway it lit up like a Christmas tree indicating i must change my brake fluid strait away. i don't know what fluid is in there already i.e (glycol base or fully synthetic), i know its dot 4 and seen some dot 5.1 advertised and wondered if this would be a good upgrade? cheers kev!

hi every one, would it be ok to fit (Michelin cross climate 2) on one axel and (Michelin cross climate + on the other axel) ? i managed to get hold of a pair of really good (Michelin cross climate + part worns) but finding it a bit difficult to get the same tyres near to me, they all seam to be selling the (Michelin cross climate 2 tyre) thanks kev p.s they would be exactly the same size, just 2 on one axel would be + and the other axel would be 2s on them. sorry forgot (225/40/18)

thanks for all the the reply's, but like you say how many people are driving round with slightly different size tyres fitted and have no idea they are not stock and or fitted with cheap tyre brands. i would only be upping the profile from 40 to 45 and they will be of a premium brand cheers kev

xenon head light problem

xenon head light problem
i only noticed the other day when we had some rain over knight, one of my headlights where very misty full of condensation they have never done this before so i can only put it down to when the garage changed the xenon bulbs for me, on inspection i found one of the torx screws that hold the headlight cover on the back of the light unit was missing so wasn't fastened tight on one of the corners and i could pull it apart slightly i/e not water tight would this be the cause of the misty headlight do you think? and dose anyone know the correct size of the torx screw that is missing ? cheers kev!

i cant really see 3.5% increase in each gear making much difference to be honest, and i don't drive like loon and i only do 70mph on the motorways there are way to many cameras around now a days, i really don't want to change the wheels that i have already, they look really good and suit the car very well so i much prefer to stick with my 18s to be honest. cheers kev
