  1. Greetings & welcome. Plenty good info on this forum, have a look around
  2. Do the usual checks you would when buying any used car. I always look for service history, tyres are the all the same make, if a mix & match could be the owner has neglected it a bit. Test drive tells a lot. Accelerate and ease off the gas in each gear, see if it jumps out etc. Oh and welcome
  3. Greetings & welcome to the forum. Plenty of good info here, the search facility will probably answer many of your questions.
  4. Greetings & welcome to the forum Enjoy the new toy when it arrives
  5. I'd keep the car once the repair has been done, it should last you 20k miles at the least. If this is such a common fault within the VW group you would think they would find a replacement chain, or similar. Not good in my book
  6. What about having the car tuned/chipped? That can take it to about 140bhp
  7. Even at £8500 its still well over the top in my book with that many miles on. Yes it may have a FSH but what about all the wear & tear to the rest of the moving parts? I for one go on the likes of Whatcar to find out prices of cars I'm looking at & how much mine is worth to get an idea od the cost to change
  8. I'm all for re-maps, it saves you a few quid not having to buy a 140 or 170 for decent performance. Mind you, there's a few places that aren't that good at remaps, so better use a recommended place
  9. I've read your first post twice & taking a bend at 20 in second it should not stall and the revs would be over 1250, so unless I'm wrong is the engine cutting out? I may be out of order here as I'm still looking for a Yeti, but if it were me and the car is still new, I'd have it checked.
  10. Looks like I've joined the right forum for some friendly banter.
  11. I'm new on here too & looking at buying a Yeti as a tow car also. In Practical Caravan this month they do a review on the greenline towing 1250 kg van & it does well. They say its not fast, but they would prefer stability over speed everytime. There's a few diesels about but over 11k for a decent one with not too many miles on.
  12. Hello all. Joined up as looking to buy a used Yeti as a tow car for my Lunar, 1250 kgs and thought this was the place to get some good info/advice. I read in Practical Caravan mag this month the review on the 1600 greenline which is quite impressive and it was towing about the same weight as my van. There are a few 110bhp's about in my price bracket but no greenlines. Anyone on here tow with the 110 that can give me any hints etc. Many thanks.
