  1. Never usually get it, best I get is granny's doing 40mph in a 60mph.....
  2. As explained here; http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20120606172804/http:/assets.dft.gov.uk/publications/dft-information-sheets/aftermarket-hid-headlamps.pdf You can get more powerful bulbs, OSRAM Night Breaker, Philips Crystal Vision. Plenty of topics on these forums about headlight bulbs, here is a link to some topics: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=nightbrakers+and+philips+120%25&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=vMxYVdPlD6Sc7gaBmoHYAw#safe=off&q=best+headlight+bulb+site:www.briskoda.net
  3. Not bad at all, then again it suits it well being the mk2 as the bumper is much nicer.
  4. Yea I was looking at Harry's, although not a fan of big oval tips like tha but I love the idea of it.
  5. From Monkey Boy's old vRS; Loving that by the way... Has anyone else attempted or actually got twin exits done to their mk1? I'd love to see some examples. Also what are you thought's can the car get away with it if done correctly? I've had a gander around on here and google but haven't found many as most are of the mk2 which looks pretty mean with dual exits... Pictures please!
  6. 1st Result, took less than 20 seconds. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/244609-how-to-replace-coolant-temperature-sensor/
  7. Very expensive. I spent the day yesterday taking off the bumper and lower air duct, going through the lanes and ripped the air duct clean off. A splitter wouldn't last long as our bumper is low as it is and I'm stock height!
  8. Check for any holes around the dash and underneath the steering wheel and center console. Unless they have been replaced. If there are random wholes it will usually means it's an ex-patrol car. Usually for Runlock, MDT, and blackbox and lights and siren systems.
  9. If you replaced the CTS (green) and you get the same error or it's not getting up to temp. Then you'll need a new thermostat, this is what ended up being wrong with mine wit the error code.
  10. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/343471-mk1-octavia-vrs/?p=4128650 In mine.
  11. Missed a lot of warm weather, beach turn out would be been good! Shall we start a list first? 1. Dean OctVRS
  12. Shame you're to far or I would of sorted out a deal to swap boots.
  13. 65 for sale in grave ends http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-SKODA-OCTAVIA-1-8T-RS-/171534843679?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27f045ff1f Sorry, realise it's already posted, but still wanting 9 grand!
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380640095686?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Center caps I think can be bought from your local Skoda dealer. They should advise the side.
  15. As sebring says, you need to use vagcom. This is an issue specially with the 6N/6n2 polo valvers, it's quite common and I had it this issue too. I know some who have forced open the butteryfly only to find it had the irratic idle after. Knowing this I left the TB on and got someone to press the throttle to open the butterfly and cleaned it that way. Try the gasket and then find someone to reset the TB using vagcom, I think that is going to be the only way.
  16. Here Here! Anyone got any dates or recommendations?
  17. I'll keep a look out for you fella! Hopefully we can get a mini meet with people around Suffolk and surround areas! Be good to see it's condition as I really wanted the WRC version!
  18. Exactly the same for me last month, they changed all the coil packs. They done health inspection and noticed my fuse box had melted (only just got the car). So, nothing major but it's been fixed and happy with the service they provided. While I was there I had a new hazard switch and CTS installed.
  19. Turns out the replacement fuse box didn't come with the lid so they used my old one without cleaning it..... Wish they told me. As for the check light etc, I have a dogy Thermostat that needs replacing and that's all that is wrong with it. Fault cleared for now and that will get sorted out next month. Happy Days!
  20. No as it was done at Skoda when I had some other stuff done. Also the CEL light has come back on since then too.
  21. Indeed, but this is a new one as my old one melted on the edge.
  22. OK, here are some pictures to show what happened after the 4 days. Seems that it hasn't burnt the case around the crimp but has heated up enough to show signs on the top.
