Octavia mk1 automatic windows
Unsure on pre-face list 98/99 models. If you do have them. Press and hold the down button for 10 seconds and then press up for 10 seconds also to shut the window. This resets the ccm module if you have this feature enabled.

Wet drivers footwell
Getting there. Next would be sitting inside while someone poors water over door and bonnet/screen to see if can be seen coming into the cabin.

Wet drivers footwell
Tip for that but be careful. Get your palm and place it on the spring side of the arm. Push down repeatedly softly and this should be enough to dislodge it without a puller. Passenger side where the bonnet wire would be for a lhd. Sometimes the bung is missing there. But also check the bottom wire on the right side and ensure the bung is tight or it all leaks to the carpet.

Front windscreen wipers not working
Is this for the MK1 shape. Or, the MK2 shape?

Wet drivers footwell
Door seals. If they've perished over time the door doesn't seal correctly and water trickles down and sits on the sill and pours into the carpet. Another one, which I have actually just done, is the bungs under the car. If they are missing, water is splashed up and soaks the underlay. Double check the scuttle and make sure the bung is there to stop water leaking directly into the cabin. As for wet vaccing. It'll help, but you'll need to lift the carpet and remove the underlay and thoroughly dry it out as its like a sponge...

Parts search - window motor & wiring loom - Skoda Octavia RS 2002
@Octavia47 Are you on any of the MK1 Oct Groups on FB? If so, there are a few people who break them weekly. They'll have the parts needed and more. Look for Gav, I'm sure many others will state that hard parts too. Link Buy as many as you can. I think I have roughly 2 sets from breaking my own over the years, and it's been fortunate that I have to say the least.

MK1 vRS - Stage 2 R-Tech Tuned
Was trying to find the car, but all my searching has surfaced nothing. All the old sites I used for check plates, etc has closed. So, I cannot see retention plates, or reg changes.

Deleting attachments
OK, this is now fixed. However, it is a perk of being a FULL MEMBER. Not a 'Find my way'. There is a minimum of 49 posts which are required to enable this setting. Also, FREEDOM gets this perk too along with other increased profile settings. A word of warning; any images attached to older posts will be deleted and break the flow of the topic. So, be mindful what you're deleting.

Access to erwin Skoda
We know it can feel a little frustrating at first. The reason we require at least 20 content items before personal messaging is simply to keep the community healthy and genuine. Weβve found that open messaging from brand-new accounts can lead to spam, unsolicited promotions, or people joining only to message others without actually participating. By asking everyone to contribute a bit first, it helps new members get familiar with the space, join conversations, and become part of the community before jumping into private messages.

Octavia Alternator Removal
If this is the same issue that has plagued us all, were the fuse box on the battery melts? If so, it's very, very common on the VAG range of this year; Golfs, Seat, Ibiza, TT, etc. Search Results for Melted Fuse Box Example

Sorry to bump such an old topic, but currently looking for more solutions on the Octavia. Pete, is it the same design by any chance? Any chance of an updated picture to be added?

Front Wiper motor and linkage-compatibility with Mk2 and other VAG systems
No, as the motor always returns to its position. And to be fair, once the scuttle panel is off, its 3 bolts I think to take it out, and the clip on the plug. Not hard at all. Use a flat head screwdriver or something similar to pop the linkage off each other, and take a photo too.

Front Wiper motor and linkage-compatibility with Mk2 and other VAG systems
If you look for '443122235017' as it's a universal number it seems. The official part number used in the Octavia vRS - 1J2955113C This also matches - the MK4 GOLF. Part no. 1J1955113B. Plus the Leon, and Audi TT AUQ. Linkage ONLY Part No. 1J0955325A - Should you wish to renew it. I wouldn't worry about second hand. For the sake of Β£25, it's worth a punt. MK2 1ZU will not fit. When stripping, did you remove the spindles and clean them up? As you will find 3 washers, 2 orings and 1 circlip. It's worth doing that. If my memory is correct. I'm sure you can open up the motor and clean it out and regrease. Those arms, make sure they are straight and the rubber parts all greased too. If you followed a guide, I'm sure you would've done this. I would probably get another set and just swap over the motor and keep the original linkage. Some on ebay for sale: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/406534243168 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286879711130 There are loads of people who strip these on the FB group, so you can always get one. I just noticed this. Take out the WHOLE unit, and strip it down on a bench and regrease.

Intermittent gear change problem
To me, that would sound like some sort of leak or, pipe expanding. The reason they quoted so is due to the recommendation of the doing the DMF while the clutch off. By the time you've factored in the prices of the clutch kit and DMF it won't be far off the price with labour. Of course, shop around. The price does seem a little high to me, I would expect more around the Β£600-Β£800... Now, if the car worth it to you and you're going to keep it for a while, then I wouldn't be put off by doing this. I don't really factor things like this in with the car, as with every car it will need doing, just like routine maintenance. Or, I would've got rid of so many cars... This is my personal opinion.
