  1. Some interesting answers there. What difference do you actually notice? Do the replacement bulb and balast cause any canbus errors? And lastly a link to a known good type.
  2. Incoming............ Boom! Have to say I can't say that I've seen HIDs fitted to this type of lamp but I really hate after market HIDs as a rule. Even factory fitted tend to dazzle me. I was told that factory fitted hids need headlamp washers and even by an mot tester they needed auto height adjusting too for when the vehicle has more load? Was also told by same tester that after market hids are an mot fail too. No idea of the truth I just know that the majority of the time I get dazzled by them.
  3. Yeah in the bumf it does say halogen and looking at my headlamps the projector lens will be the buble part. So basically the DE bit is basically marketing making it sound really good LoL
  4. Just been looking at Skoda website at the Roomster section. Firend of mine had looked for the £9995 offer but said he couldn't find it and sure enough it's gone, poor him and lucky me. I started looking at specs for the Roomster and noticed Projector Headlamps with DE Module, ok I understand the projector bit cos I've got them but what is a DE Module?
  5. Is it the bars or the cycle carrier mounted to the bars, when I say bars I don't mean the roof rails that came with the car. Try the bars on the roof rails without the cycle carrier to see if that makes any difference.
  6. Well done you, I can see these templates getting sold on around the forum lol
  7. Saw this one coming but not this early lol. Interesting how it'll work though, what about less economic vehicles. At the moment the more poluting the more you pay irrespective of how much the car costs?
  8. I had a similar problem, turned out to be the charging cable for the dashcam. As soon as it was connected signal took a real nose dive.
  9. I understand where you are coming from chris and it'll be along side another taxiing v bomber too. Shame in a way cos Finningley is also a spiritual home too, sadly a one plane museum display probably wont work. Like the idea of an engineering excellence centre though. What ever will be will be. Has anyone heard the news that there is going to be an Airshow at Church Fenton 6th September? Just waiting for the official news release. Maybe a last chance to see XH558?
  10. I was discussing this at the weekend, apparently there may be some hissy fits of the legal variety about ownership of the airframe. If it remains at Finningley (it'll always be Finningley to me) then yes they'll struggle to do runway movements of any kind, not just is it a live runway with paying customers using it but also the Vulcan will not be covered in the same way by CAA which may cause issues. The other alternative is to fly it down to Bruntingthorpe and be based there as a museum and it'll have access to a runway without issues. I think the story may evolve from what I've been told by someone in the know.
  11. Very nice, I was stuck over at Linton On Ouse. We did stand outside for a while to see if we could see anything but sadly tooooo far away.
  12. Just a quick update, had a call from the new service manager at my local dealer last week. He introduced himself and had a chat, asked how our visit was the other week. So I told him I was disappointed about the rattle and to be told it was normal. Guess what he had no record of it, anyway he asked me to call in with it and he would go out for a drive with me to try and hear the noise. We both went out in the car and it wasnt making a sound, after a while it did and he seems to think its transmission related. Hes going to look into possible causes and get the car in for a looking at. Fingers crossed.
  13. First of all but not too serious, I think this section is for the new roomy when it eventually comes out but Im sure if Im right a mod will move it over for us. Ive not driven the 105, Ive driven the 1.6 & 1.2tdi Roomsters and found the 1.6 nice and smooth and enough go about it for me. Not sure how the 1.2tsi 85 compares in fairness however I own the 1.2 85 and love it to bits. More than enough power for me and still goes well with 5 people in it. My other car and in fact the car I px'd was a 2.7 diesel with 125bhp and this defo has more go about it. Still got. 2.7 motor and although noce the roomy defo has it. Can you not explain to a local dealer and ask if you can have some kind of extended test drive of both?
  14. Best idea is to take it as a wake up call, sit back and see what happens because what ever will be will be and there isnt anything you can do about it. I put an app on my android phone which runs the battery down and I still have to set speed on it. Tomtom sat navs warn you about speed. After all that I noticed my Roomster has a speed warning which helps a great deal. Its all too easy to drift along with the traffic and be speeding. When you are within the speed limit youll also find the prat behind getting closer and closer, resist the temptation to creep your speed up. Sit back and dont think about what if's and see if anything appears through the door. From what youve said chances are it will but take it on the chin chances are youll get the course. On the brightside you dont even have to tell your insurance company because it is not a conviction! Youll be fine, let us know how you get on.
  15. The chances are you will get the course if you have not had any other speeding tickets in the last 3 years. They actually word it along the lines of you may be offered a speed awareness course. Chances are you'll have a ticket in the post over next few days to a week. You'll have to send it back to the office that deals with it saying you were the driver and then a few days later the actual ticket with the optional offer of a course will pop through the door. They tend to be very efficient with this, sickening how efficient really. Good luck and dont feel too down about it.
  16. Well done, how do you find it? And does it use your green lcd display to display speed settings?
  17. Found the same warning for my bumper protector moulding. My moulding fitted just fine so does that make me a contract partner of skoda LoL Carefull though with the rails, measure several times and then measure again before drilling.
  18. Sadly you can be sued for your dog attxking them and the poor dog can be put down. It's a mad old world we live in. Several years ago a farmer shot a burgler in his house, the farmer was an elderly man living on his own. The farmer was jailed and a couple of years later the farmer won an appeal and was released. I think the farmer over reacted but the point was why was the young man walking up his staircase? That incident raised two points and neither were in the right but it seemed like all the papers had sympathy for the elderly farmer. You might have to be the wrong side of 40 to remember this one.
  19. Haha that would be funny seeing what happens sticking 12v into it. Funnily enough I have a little to do with radio. Yeah been playing today and it does look like its the flipping charge cable. Didn't do it on the other car tho. Heho been looking for a usb cable to see if I can charge it from a usb charger. Thanks for the replies guys
  20. It only seems to happen when the charge cable is plugged into the camera, can have camera on without charge cable and it seems ok. Suspecting that the charge corcuit is emitting something perhaps. Tried moving the cables and camera well away from the radio and diversity aerial but it has had no effect at all. Beginning to think it may be a replacement camera but worried that will be just as bad. Was hoping to get a cheap dual camera system but this may be just as bad.
  21. Standard Swing FM radio. Mine is a cheap chinese dash cam, £20 special off Fleabay.
  22. Looks nice, bet it's pricey tho. So SWB 5 seats and LWB 7 seater perhaps. Think I'd have one.
  23. Fitted my trusty cheap dash cam the other day, not touched it since I cleared my px before getting the Roomster. So last week started using the dash cam in the Roomster, since then started getting really poor radio reception. Today had my son in the car when the poor signal thing was happening so mentioned it to him. Removed the dash cam and signal back up again, so repositioned the suction mount and fitted camera and connected to power cable and the poor signal problem again. Seems to be only when the power cable is plugged in. Has anyone else had similar issues?
