  3. Fits onto the MAf and filter ends up near the back of the headlight...doesn't go into the wing or anything like that.
  4. I think you're going to have to post up a pic.....there a couple of basic types of CAI. 1) tube fitted onto MAF and then filter down around head lamp area. 2) heat shield/box arrangement with filter inside...air feed using existing input a la standard fairbox. Both require removal of standard airbox and connection of a pipe to the MAF.
  5. Yes...Jabba could check for you. Yes...the could tell you the output power/torque. Not sure of the price of going on the rollers though. Induction kit was approx
  6. Got to admit I find it very difficult to believe that you'll 18bhp from a CAI. Most we have seen is apporx 10bhp.
  7. If you go down the remap route...a BOV will give you the cell light....not sure if this can be mapped out now either.
  8. I thought it was hydrolock....basically trying to compress something which can only be compressed by so much...or something like that. ...and that's as I said before...the fitler would have to be submerged in water. I had a cold air fed for the lower grill to the CAI...which was situated in place of the standard airbox using the standard ai intake path.
  9. Probably not doing your fitler much good but, the main concern is how much water is getting into the engine as this is what'll do damage. As it's spray probably not enough but don't go wading through any puddles that reach up over the heigth of the filter.
  10. Q don't forget to read the gb sticky when you're ready to go with this....also set a deadline for this or it'll go on forever. Ta. 1. devonutopia -1 2. Spudgun - 2 3. 11. So far I have only had 4 people PM registering interest...once this gets over 5..so one more ....I'll start a gb. I would say that due to Christmas people haven't got the extra dosh for this at the moment.....wait till the end of the month and that may change.
  12. I highly recommedn Ferrodo DS2500...no wear indicators...but they really are in improvement. If you're going to change the discs...get some grooved ones...I had some EBC ones. Also change the fluid to a higher rated one dot4.1 (Castrol Response or soemthing liek that) is more than adequate for day 2 day driving plus....a few track days.
  13. Bengie is correct on this. My previous Octy RS ran 340bhp on a standard clutch and internals...without any problems. Torque is the main killer of killer and clutches...as such is was mapped to take this into consideration. With uprated clutch and internals the torque could have been wound up another 50lbs/ft2. For some turbos you can swap and it will run ok....E05 for examples...but I would say putting an IHI / GT28 wouldn't even run with standard map...remap may do...but why take the chance of everything going FUBAR??
  14. The membership money doesn't go to Colin...it covers the costs of running the site e.g. we recently had to get a new server...not cheap. For this...as probably has been stated eariler...you do get some extra features...email account, advertising space for selling items, extra space in the gallery etc. If you would like to see some other features for your membership, please make some suggestions....it will be looked into. As was said earlier"Freedom" is not for everyone...but like I said...it really does go to cover the costs of running the site. If you prefer to make a donation that's more the welcome as well.
  15. Chris, did you get a crate or just a couple of bottles? Quite keen to try some of this myself...should work in a 2.0ltr pd...with DPF.
  16. I always worked on the 10-12% salary increase "principal"..... I guess this reduces the more money you earn though. Money is important but not the be all and end all.....if your happy with your role, you'll be more productive and, hopefully, you'll be rewarded for it. Kind of idealistic but that's what I try and tell myself.
  17. If you have reservations about a job before you've even accepted it...it's not for you. If you don't get the "buzz" just thinking about it you can be sure that you'll end up being bored again. You're currently employed so can afford to take your tinme to find the right role.
  18. Although not an Focus ST I was interested in a Ford S-Max ST...same engine...liked everything about it. However I heard such bad reports about the local Ford dealer that this put me off. I'm not going to spend circa
  19. Had a look at one of these....space good but the rear has very small windows so you feel hemmed in. Ok...that's ok if you drive on your own but as a family car that's no good. I also felt the doors were a bit light in feel...close with a nice thunk but they didn't convey a feeling of solidity.
  20. This is what I was thinking and re-reading the top post...my SLX TDi was a W reg and that required an EEPROM change.
  21. I didn't think OBD port remapping was possible for the 110TDi and you had to have new EEPROM. This may have changed since though.
  22. I saw Transporter 2 last week....I really did want my A6 in met black with pimped windows and the 19'' alloys.
  23. Yep...pretty easy to use....Electronic handbrake takes some getting used to though.
  24. Full leather Heated front sports seats - good as the weathers getting colder Duel climate control BOSE stereo - very good SAT NAV BT connectivity - works really well car kit prep MMI display Eletronic parking brake - takes a lttle getting used to Cruise Control Heated screen washers Auto lights/wipers Sports suspension 18'' alloys
