  1. I didn't realise there were so many wonderful non judgemental people who see everyone as equal with no class divide and all taste is good taste,on this forum, how lovely. Trust me I don't love my Rapid either!
  2. You can afford to spend 30k + on a Ford then
  3. Mine was in for a service, I told them, they located the squeek, told me they had oiled it and it wouldn't happen anymore. The next day it was back and does it all the time, not very pleased! I've decided to live with it though, I just can't be bothered anymore.
  4. I once bought an ex council house and I like mk2 escorts, bet u didn't expect that now did you! I'd still feel like a di<+ driving a focus RS p.s I sold the council house when I realised I was the only one within the immediate area who went to work every day lol
  5. Oh dear you are taking this seriously, look I don't have a problem with the car as such but it's my opinion and I think I'm still allowed one. The car isn't exactly subtle to look at, it's not very understated. It defiantly does appeal to people who like to put big loud exhausts on them and dump valves etc etc, all good lovely people I'm sure, I think we used to call them boy racers. To put it in simple terms the car is a bit like a shell suit and a Burberry baseball cap. I think Jeremey clarkeson referred to the last one as an ASBO on 4 wheels although he loved the way it drives and I imagine it's great to drive.
  6. Looks really nice, I particularly like the new style wheels and seats. Have you thought about lowering springs, Skoda can fir them so they don't void your warranty and they really transform the look, ride and handling. Just make sure they fit the correct kit, which in your case it will be as it's the heavier diesel model.
  7. I don't actually know where the BMW 320d idea came from, certainly not me? Someone asked me if I thought it was better and I just said more classy but boring. If I had my choice of super car it would be a BMW M5 or M6, they will both become CHAVY in 10 or so years but for now great cars.
  8. I don't think a BMW 320d is better but it's got a hell of a lot more class, it's blooming boring car though. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but the Focus RS has no class, it's like a tracksuit or pair of white trainers.
  9. Another CHAVY ford, no class and I can already see it adorning the drive on a council house. #sorry just saying
  10. I wasn't charged as it's got a service plan. Skoda told me the pollen filter WOULD be changed on its next service.
  11. Had it done toady it was a minor service and they confirmed that they also did a minor service at 3k when I bought it, I'm really happy with that as it's had two services in its first year and I think that can only be a good thing especially when the engines wearing in and likely to have small pieces of metal flowing round the engine. They told me its next service is due at 20k or 12 months so all good.
  12. I'm really glad I don't have to press the clutch down to start the engine, means I can start it whilst standing outside, then get straight on with scraping ice off windows, rather than having to pointlessly sit down then get back out again. Might sound like a small thing but it greatly pleases me. The stop start annoys me too, I've heard it takes more fuel to keep starting the engine than if you just left it running and it knackers the starter motor, don't know if either are true but I'm happy it stays on. It does indeed look good, especially as a sport and it's definitely got lots of space, I don't know how they do that??
  13. Well that's where I'm a bit confused, it was an ex demonstrator and they told me it was serviced prior to me collecting it at 3.5k, not sure if they will do minor or major on this one but I'm expecting minor.
  14. I have a 2015 Rapid sport and well, let me try and be fair and diplomatic. It's a bit like Skoda said to themselves, "it's all going really well for us at the moment, but let's try and build a Skoda a bit like how we used to build them in the 70s & 80s, cheap and a bit crap!!! It looks ok/ good in Sport form, but and this is a big but, it's awful in comparison to modern cars, if it was the 90s then ok, but it's just not up to acceptable modern standards build and quality wise. Having said all of that I love the way it drives, that might sound strange to say after the slating I've just given it but it's a good honest no frills car, you don't have to depress the clutch to start the engine. It doesn't turn off every time you stop in traffic, it doesn't have annoying auto wipers or auto lights. It's a petrol which is unusual in these days of turbo diesel and it sounds good when you put your foot down. It's kind of the best bits of older cars but also some of the worst bits too, you just have to learn to love it.
  15. I'm going for the first 10,000 service tomorrow even though there's no indication on the computer and they told me when they sold it to me that they had serviced it even though it was only 6 months old with 3,400 miles on the clock. Has anyone any last words of advice? Is there anything I should know? You all told me the second service is a rip off, anything I should look out for on this one??
  16. I always make a point of telling them NOT to wash my car! Why would I want someone rubbing scratches into the paint then stripping it with truck wash? I tell them they can do the inside though.
  17. Most high powered cars like the Vrs, golf R and Audi S3 are stolen to commit crime, like burglaries, essentially they can get away from the police easily. They are often parked up for a day or 2 after being stolen to see if they have a tracker fitted, but before they are parked up and once the thief starts to use it, he isn't going to care about pot holes, kurbs, driving it hard, smoking in it etc etc. Personally if I had a nice car and it was nicked I wouldn't want a call from the police saying "Good news we've got your car back".
  18. Hi, this is not true! Stolen cars are catogarised cat d if they are stolen and the insurance company pay out. A cat d right off can happen if the total cost of repair which includes loss in value, recovery, damage, storage etc amount to more than 65% of the cars value. If you get your car back after its stolen don't just look at it and say, "Thanks, it looks about the same" think about under body damage, damage to the suspension, brakes, steering, engine, paint work etc etc. Personally I wouldn't want mine back after 30 minutes let alone a couple of days. I can tell u they are driven hard, fast and recklessly before they are parked up.
  19. Funny thing is that if you didn't get you to agree a disclaimer each time before using it, some moron somewhere would kill someone to death, or injure themselves, or damage property and then sue Garmin for not telling them that could happen. Glad your still enjoying the car, if I could go that small then I defo would, at the moment I still need the Rapids massive boot.
  20. Too much hassle, do Skoda themselves do body kits. I can't find anything on line?
  21. I want to order the side skirts for rapid hatch but the order process doesn't stipulate a coulour, do you have to paint yourself and how and where do you get them fitted?
  22. I walked past one the other day and it was so nice I slowed down to look and then looked over my shoulder at it about five times as I went past it. Looks a bit Audi A6ish but nicer!
  23. Can anyone actually give the real reason why service books are being done away with, is there anyone on this forum who works in the trade who actually knows. I would love to know. Our BMW doesn't have a service book either, not ideal, but you can use the on board computer to tell you when everything and I mean everything needs doing, how many more miles left before each individual thing needs replacing, wear indicators for brakes shown in % and it's extremely simple to scroll through the whole lot from oil, brake fluid etc etc. If you sell it to someone they can see how long everything's got before it needs doing. It's a really good system, surely if you do away with the book and don't have this, then it's just stupid?
  24. My car is exactly 12 months old and it doesn't have a book, I've double checked this with the dealer and it never had one. There are no positives for us as customers not having them. They will lead to missing services, incorrect servicing as there is no point of reference for who ever services it to see what needs doing. Yet another minus point for Skoda and I won't ever buy another Skoda in my life ever. Simply clever, not really Skoda.
  25. It's got to be better than my Rapid
