  1. Hi We went from a Superb Hatchback to an L&K Kodiaq and personally we found the boot more versatile in the Superb than the Kodiaq despite the Kodiaq claiming to have a larger boot. I struggle to understand how Skoda have not thought of a way of removing the seats to make the car more versatile. A colleague at work has a Kodiaq and also just got a Dacia Jogger as a second car to replace his i10. He finds the boot better on the Jogger than the Kodiaq and the rear two seats in the Jogger just unclip in about 1 minute and can be removed and stored.
  2. Picked my new Kodiaq up last night, its not a VRS but is the 2.0TSI 190PS Petrol L&K and had a quick look under the bonnet and it had a cover on it.
  3. Thanks all, really appreciate the advice. Am probably worrying over nothing with taking a brand new car on holiday so quickly but but feel a little OCD with it all wanting to make sure no issues etc.
  4. Looking for some advice if I can. When I first got my Superb (current car) I had plenty of time to get some mileage on it locally to and from work on A/B Roads and in town etc before loading the car with a full family, full roof box and full boot for a long motorway trip for a holiday. It is increasingly looking likely that my Kodiaq replacement will be here very near to a holiday. It has been in Emden nearly 3 weeks and is still showing as being there, albeit the dealer is being told by Skoda UK it is on track for delivery and being registered in September. If I am lucky I might have put about 300 miles on it before setting off. The holiday I have booked for late October involves a mixed Motorway and A Road drive from Lincolnshire to the Scottish Highlands which again will be fully loaded weight wise. The first day is about 300 miles to Glasgow and then a further 150 miles up into the Highlands the next day. Having read the manual it says The driving style during the first 1,500 km determines the quality of the engine run-in process. For the first 1,000 km load the engine to maximum 3/4 of the highest permissible engine speed and avoid using a trailer. Over the next 500 km the engine speed can be slowly increased. The car is the 2L Petrol DSG so can I assume just drive normally, thinking of the current car which is a 2L Petrol DSG the REVs never go above 2500 on the motorway and normal driving and only occasionally up to ~3000 on a couple of hills in Scotland. Obviously loading wise the car will be full (4 adults, full boot and roof box for the journey up). Is there anything I need to be conscious of given the newness of the vehicle. Obviously will take spare oil with me as I always do, my current Superb tends to use a little (~250ml) on the journey there and again on the way back. Apologies for what a probably silly questions but am just a little concerned with the newness and long distance etc. Thanks
  5. Looking for some advice if I may. I am a fan of winter tyres and have the Continental TS850 on my Superb and they have been excellent. Am taking delivery of a new Kodiaq next month so will be back in the market for new tyres etc. My knowledge of these things is slim to say the least but by my limited thinking I thought that the twice yearly stretching to remove and fit the tyres would not be good for the longevity of the tyres so went for a 2nd set of rims which after 7 years has meant the winters have never come off the rims and the summer tyres have only been changed twice. I appreciate 7 years is a long time for tyres but I have them checked by a trusted garage each year before and after use. I guess my question is will swapping and changing tyres each time be damaging for 19" tyres? Thanks
  6. Looking for some advice on the insurance side of things, ideally without needing to contact my insurance with a "what if" question. I currently drive a Superb and switch to and from my winter tyres each year and my insurer is more than happy with that. The winter tyres are on their own rims but are identical to those the car was shipped from the factory so again insurance does not care. Will be taking delivery of a new Kodiaq next month and am considering my options. My local dealer is saying they cannot get hold of identical rims so have offered something from the accessory catalogue. Will insurers consider this a modification or more importantly a chargeable one given that the rims will be official VAG parts. Thanks Paul
  7. Currently got an active order with them for a Kodiaq. Bought my Superb from them in 2016 and more than happy to return. They are as frustrated with Skoda as the rest of us in terms of them telling dealers one thing on wait times and then it often being twice that long. I get regular updates via email with no prompting.
  8. Ordered mine last week (25th Feb), financed confirmed on the 28th and was told 15 to 19 weeks for delivery.
  9. Quick thanks to all. If that's the case of dealer fit then I have more time to think. I remember back in 2016 ordering them for factory fit on the Superb as it was cheaper. Cannot remember the actual figures now.
  10. Thanks, that would be very helpful if you do not mind. Likewise we have not had problems with the usual RoRo ferries with adjustable linkspans. Calmac don't tend to have them it is literally a steep concrete ramp and the ramp from the ferry dropped on it.
  11. Hi all As the title suggests I have a dilemma over mud flaps. I have ordered an L&K to replace my Superb L&K and the one thing that I have not added is mud flaps. I had mud flaps on my Superb but found that they very often caught when going on and off ferries in the Scottish Highlands. That is when i could even get on the ferries. They tend to have some sharp angles depending on tides and more than a few occasions I have not been able to get on due to either the front or the back being too low to the ground. Now I know the Kodiaq is so much higher and that is the reason I have gone with it as we want to be able to get around the Scottish Highlands and out to the islands etc with the car loaded. Anyone have any experience that they could share, I am currently 50/50 on calling the dealer and having them add mudflaps to the order so it comes fitted with them. Thanks
  12. Hi Test driving a Kodiaq on Saturday and if all goes well am planning on placing an order. Can someone explain the process for me so that I know what happens as I have never had PCP before. The last time I ordered a new car from Skoda I paid £500 and then the balance when it arrived. It was a living inheritance so was a cash payment. What will happen on Saturday, I understand I need to pay £500 and then hand my current car over when the new one eventually arrives. But I am confused about how to apply for the PCP, what happens. Do I need to take with me documents to prove income etc for a credit check on Saturday, presumably they need me to sign a finance contract at some point. Is it easy to be approved? Apologies for what must seem stupid questions but I am struggling to find the answers online and the dealer has not requested I take anything in with me. Thanks Paul
  13. Am looking at an L&K TSI190. I did ask them all if there was any specific part or upgrade that could slow it down and was told no. The only thing to slow it down was if I wanted a diesel rather than petrol.
  14. Am currently looking at upgrading from a Superb to a Kodiaq, details in a different post, but wanted to say that I have spoken to three dealers (my local and two on Car Wow) and they are all saying 15 to 19 weeks from order to delivery.
  15. Thanks @Yogi-Bear, just had a facepalm moment. I had not even thought about using a small folding step-stool.
