  1. Thanks pal, sounds like the sort of real world feedback I was looking for. It’s been a toss up between Special Actives and Bilstein for a while (to the verge of massively overthinking it 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣 ). I’m also still toying with lowering springs as whilst the dampers are being changed it’s only a small leap (shuffle really) to swap out the springs too. Sometimes I look at the car and think “it’s alright as is” and then the next day I can walk up to it and be like “those arch gaps are killing me” 🤣🤣🤣 I really appreciate you taking the time and your detailed feedback. ✌🏼👍🏼
  2. Thanks mate. Seems so odd, when all other switches are backlit, even the dashboard vent controllers. But at least I won’t have to go digging around trying to fix it if it isn’t broken. Appreciate the quick response. 👍🏼
  3. I have a 2019 Sportline Plus hatch. It has the LED ambient lights but also has LED reading lights / courtesy lights. In the front roof cluster, all the buttons are backlit, but I’ve noticed that in the rear, the two buttons in the cluster are not backlit. Is this usual? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  4. Great and thanks for coming back to me as I appreciate it’s been a while. Yeah I’m looking for something that just tightens the ride up. Car really “wallows” especially over speed bumps, so want more control on the bounce back. Are you on lowered springs too? How did you get on with your rear knock?
  5. So I appreciate this is a long old time ago, however, how have the Special Actives performed? I’m about to go all in with H&R and Special Actives so would be great to get a first hand review / opinion of them please?
  6. Thank you mate. Appreciate the feedback. I’ve seen that you can buy a Bilstein B12 kit which matches B8 shocks with the Eibach Pro Kit, from reviews that seems to give the best balance between retaining decent comfort levels and achieving a lowered ride height and more controlled damping. Will have a shop around.
  7. Thanks. That’s good to know regarding wider choice. Thinking B6 or B8. Not sure I want to go down the coil over route as I’m not looking for adjustability, just want to for the components and forget about them. 👍🏼
  8. Yes the top mounts. I’ve been following various threads with talk of some Audi parts being supplemented but I’m a little confused as to whether these will impact the ride height or not. Someone (I forget who) seemed to suggest that they were using the different top mounts to reduce the lowering impact of the Eibach kit? But I may well have mis understood. 🤣
  9. Hi Travs yes I’m familiar with Awesome and also familiar with their pricing 😬 which is why I’m looking for some genuine, bona-fide garages to compare against. I’ll initially look for somewhere to supply and fit, but if that’s proving too costly, I’ll definitely come back to you for that contact. 👍🏼 much appreciated.
  10. Thanks for the link, I’m on non Damptronic. Your mods list is insane. Very impressive. 👌🏼
  11. Hi all. I’m considering biting the bullet and overhauling the the suspension on my Sportline Plus 272. Factory set up is just too bouncy for me and after 14 months of ownership I’m now at a cross roads. Chop it in for something with better ride characteristics or take a car that I 85% love and try and sort the last 15% out (being the ride). I’ve a good idea of the components I’ll need but where I’m hoping you guys can help is for any recommendations of places to get the work done in the North West (Preferably Manchester / Greater Manchester). I’ve googled the life out of garages and read reviews but I’m always wary of bogus reviews both good and bad, so looking for personal recommendations from people who have tried and tested garages they use for both modifications and general maintenance work. Garages that you are confident leaving your cars there knowing you’ll get the jobs done with care and at a decent price. ( I don’t want much do I?🤣) Any help on this would be gratefully received. Work I want doing is lowering springs AND new shocks, most likely Bilsteins as they tend to have a pretty solid following on here. Cheers.
  12. Hi mate, sorry to hijack this but I have a 272 and am interested in a pedal box. (Possibly yours if you’ve still got it?) Are you getting rid because of a new car or because you didn’t like it? Cheers
  13. Have recently bought the Thule Evo Wingbars and the foot packs to fit my 272 hatch. Have fitted according to instructions, but the final result has the bars at what looks like uneven heights. The rear bar appears to be sat slightly higher than the front one which makes fitting the bike carriers, via the T Tracks, awkward as they don’t run along the track easily. Has anyone else found this with the Thule Evo Wingbars?
  14. Ah well. I was half right. 🤣🤣
  15. Hi they are two blue LED clusters. Seen them on an unmarked S3 near me. Suspect they’ve used the holes from the sensors to retro fit these? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. Thanks all you’ve put my mind at rest. Currently only doing minimal commute three days a week and that includes a school run. So no real opportunity to utilise the horses. Just clearing its throat when it gets a chance then. 👍🏼 in terms of colour, it’s difficult to describe. The best I can do is to say that it sort of looks like I’ve driven through a dusty patch of the road and the backdraft has kicked it up in the air a couple of feet. Gives me a good “excuse” when I indulge in some spirited driving and the wife’s in the car anyway. “Just looking after the engine babe” 🤣🤣🤣 thanks all. You guys never let me down. 🙌🏼
  17. OK, I haven’t seen a “272 thread” so this is as good a place as any to ask for some opinions. I’ve a 2019 272 Sportline plus, 52k. Bought it approved used in June with a two year manufacturers warranty. Car runs like a dream. Pulls like a train. However, on the odd occasion when I bury the throttle and “boot it” there’s what looks like a dust cloud out the back. Literally for like a few seconds and then it’s clear. This happens only on the first acceleration, if I accelerate hard again straight after, nothing is emitted. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I get it into the dealership? Is it nothing to worry about or the beginning of a bigger issue? There’s absolutely no smoke at any other time. Cheers.
  18. I know this is an age old thread but for anyone who is looking to change up there rear indicators, I got these from Amazon and they are very good, really bright and no errors on dash. I know that some of the links to previous products have now ceased, but these are a good current alternative. £14.99.
  19. Thanks so I’m guessing L&K had all doors with lights and the remainder just had reflectors in rears doors. ☹️ Mine’s a Sportline Plus.
  20. Ha! Me again. Was looking into the “safety lights” at the bottom of the rear doors and wondered how you’d fitted yours? on first look, my doors only appear to have reflectors? 🤷🏻‍♂️ cheers Mike.
  21. Just back from holiday and car cleaned this morning so adding a couple more of mine as have now added mud guards and spacers. Love the new stance, the spacers make such a difference. 💙
  22. These are stock items from Awesome GTi in Manchester. 👍🏼
  23. 13mm rear and 11mm front. 👍🏼
  24. Thanks pal. Yeah it’s pretty much the look I was hoping for. I’ll put a few better pictures on here when I’ve cleaned the car. My brother put 20mm spacers all round on his S5 and he was laughing at my choice particularly the 11mm on the front, but I’m glad I stuck with my gut. He actually thinks my Superb now looks miles better now too. 👍🏼😬
  25. Apologies for low res images, but had to scale them down to meet the upload limit. 😩 in each aspect, the first image is Pre and the second image is Post. does just enough for me for now. think the impact would be greater if the ride height were dropped a little, but that’s another plan for another time. 🙂
