Maybe I wait a little longer for some news on my car. e-Roottoot no problem my friend, the lack of anything specific or detailed from Skoda sends us running for any piece of info we can find. Looks like the factories closing decision happened the day AFTER I spoke to Skoda. 🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

I spoke to them last Friday regarding my unallocated build week. There was no mention of Factory closures, but they did refer to a reduction in production. Not sure why they used such abrasive language, intimating that your order had been rejected🤣🤣 Think we’re all in the dark until we get a build week or delivery date. Anything else is speculation and conjecture, even from Skoda when you ring them, those guys are only working with sound bites and messages they’ve been coached to tell you, unless they have a factual update (build week / delivery date). I’ll need to make a decision soon though because my current lease goes back end of April. 🤯🤯

Not sure what they’re doing with it though? It’s down as colour “1313” and although it’s a metallic colour, it doesn’t come through as an extra cost when you select it. Bargain!! 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the feedback. I’m surprised and a bit concerned that this is on a recently built car, as predominantly the issues you have mentioned afflicted early build cars. Maybe lessons haven’t been learnt or maybe older parts are still working there way through the production line. My wife had the Karoq Edition with 1.5tsi engine. It was a cracking engine once you got used to it. It also “roared” into life on a cold start but I took that as a characteristic of the engine, which is a very complex piece of engineering. Once I realised that you had to work the engine to get the best out of it, keep in a higher rev range to have the torque on tap, it was a really entertaining car to drive. Hope you manage to resolve / address your early findings. ✌🏼👍🏼

My wife’s Karoq mirrors did the same but to be honest I do y think it’s a groan and more the sound the motors make, if it’s THAT sound that’s being referred to. If they fold out and retract in at a decent speed, I doubt it’s an issue.

Love quartz grey. Had it on my Mk3 vRS estate and loved how it changed colour in the light and also was a rare colour too. I’ve gone Meteor Grey this time, but still waiting for a build week. Your looks cracking mate.

Don’t blame you pal, that’s too long to wait, especially when others seem to be getting build weeks. I’m starting to look at Plan B’s now and will maybe give it another couple of weeks before making a decision.

Yeah who knows? Sounds like first world problems, but I just hate this part of ordering a new car, once you’ve committed to it, it’s difficult to forget about it until it arrives. 🤯 But I absolutely get the reality of the world so it’s understandable, and I have two choices, suck it up, or start searching for stock cars that are here or are en route. The assigned build week will confirm which way I end up going. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Afternoon all. So after speaking with Skoda just now, to enquire as to why I still haven’t been allocated a build week, I’ve been told that “there have been production cuts on the Octavia model which has led to extended lead times for those cars, so we expect your car will get a build week assigned in a few weeks.” I’m gutted, but I’m also wondering whether the issues around the infotainment system and the possibly some incoming remedies to the final few glitches may be responsible for the slowing of production? At least that’s how I’m consoling myself. 🤣🤣🤣

To be honest, and in my opinion only 😬, I think that mod is a bit of a waste due to the positioning of the actual button. They look good when positioned in the centre console, but stuck away under the steering column?? Not so much.

I imagine there are plenty of dealers keen to undertake work “not covered under warranty”. I wasn’t doubting your past experience, merely dismayed that they could charge for that work. ✌🏼

How could that possibly not be covered under warranty on a Brand new car? (Point being made in the context of OP’s situation rather than your Superb situation)

So it’s the factory keeping you in suspense the cheeky scamps. 🤣🤣 I’ve seen the “upgraded” seats with thigh extenders and alcantara on a few you tube reviews, mainly Germany, so I think they definitely are standard in other markets. Its a shame that they aren’t standard because I think that would really make the cabin a next level experience, and I think I’ll miss the thigh support extenders as I have them on my current car, but my cloth seats were plenty good in my 2015 Mk3 vRS, and I imagine these will be the same. I’ll be honest, I think with all the software / infotainment issues Skoda will be fighting across Europe from the early cars, I doubt offering a new seat choice will be high on their agendas. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My wife had the 2018 Karoq Edition 1.5tsi and when that switched to 2 cylinders, the only way you knew was the “eco” on the dash. Totally seamless. Different car I know, but not sure why the Octy would be any different. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would imagine changing the seats is a fairly major change to an order, particularly as I believe the seats would be electric adjustment upgrades? It’s all speculation until you find out 100% whether the UK is getting the alternative to cloth seats for vRS. What does your dealer say? Any timelines?
