  1. Yeah I saw that. You’ve done well. I’m going to chase the dealer early next week and see if there’s any update. I’m hoping they’ve just been a bit busy and not checked the system. Last update I got was 22nd February.
  2. It sounds to me like the lack of remembering certain modes now is all to do with WLTP legislation. Having to revert to its “standard drive mode settings” must now be part of conforming to WLTP standards of measuring potential emissions. Ive also heard, on other threads, from our Irish members that you can’t even spec the pano roof or Canton because the these items apparently push the car over a certain emissions threshold, which I find absolutely incredible. Back to drive modes / settings and my current 5 series F11 2017, has never retained any of my previous drive modes after the ignition has turned off. It doesn’t even remember the Auto Hold, so every time I get in the car I have to press the button. Which I don’t mind doing because I am now used to that, but the point I’m making is, a lot of these issues are genuine software / hardware glitches, some are design innovations / flaws (subjective) and some appear to be gripes with changes to convenience elements that seem to be driven by external emissions measuring standards rather than Skoda withdrawing the functionality. Who knows, I may feel far less philosophical about it when I’m living with my new car, but six weeks since order and still no Build week, so I’m jealous of you guys who are already in your MK4’s! ✌🏼
  3. Just keep looking for the next video my friend, just keep looking. 🤣🤣🤣
  4. I think I may have seen that one too. 🤣🤣 Theres a Slovakian one (I think) where the TSI and Diesel 4x4 drag race for a few minutes. Quite entertaining even though I have no idea what is being said. Ah well we can’t all be wrong, this thread is making me feel a little better about myself, if nothing else. 👍🏼✌🏼
  5. Are you serious? That’s is incredible! I feel for you guys. That emissions legislation can now start to impact what options are offered such as an upgraded stereo, WOW! Car looks lovely. Early days but how is it?
  6. 🤣🤣 tell me about it. As much as I try and play it cool whilst waiting for the car, I just end up scouring YouTube for anything I can find on the new model. I’ve even watched some in German and Czech just to see if I can glean a little more detail just from the images. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  7. Is that the car wow review of the 245? I’ll give it another watch. Thanks. 👍🏼
  8. That’s quite encouraging then for my order placed 29th January. Thanks for your update. 👍🏼 Much appreciated.
  9. Cool. Hope you get it sorted. 👍🏼
  10. Hi. I’ve added it here in England on my vRS, so it’s definitely doable, but you have to have the spare wheel too as that’s where the subwoofer goes in this latest version. It was around £700 to add, something like £550 for the Canton and £150 for the spare wheel. not sure why it’s be missing on the Irish configurator. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  11. From the journo’s reviews it seems to track the same as the Mk3, mechanical diff for petrol and electronic diff for diesel. But I can only find reviews of the front wheel drive vRS’s. I’ve ordered a 4 wheel drive vRS, but can find absolutely no information on what type of system the Mk4 has, how it works or how much power can be sent to individual wheels in case of traction issues etc etc. Neither written or spoken word. So I’ll just keep looking. 🤷🏻‍♂️😬
  12. It’s always surprising how different peoples experiences with dealers is. Although I would say, it can also depend upon the individuals you speak to too. just focus on the extra payments on your current car, the extra equity you’ll be creating and leave the rest to the car delivery gods. 🙌🏼🙌🏼✌🏼
  13. Was about to make the same points. Reading this thread has had me losing sleep over the past 6 weeks or so and I feel for those guys who have had these ongoing issues. But I would say the picture is becoming clearer in terms of linking software issues to certain hardware modules and there doesn’t appear to be many owners of later produced cars contributing here, which gives me hope that launch issues are being addressed for later production runs. (Doesn’t help the guys who already have their cars though). Other things such as no buttons on the infotainment screen are developments in tech similar to many car manufacturers. You will know if you want that or not before considering the Mk4. But there are still car producers who have buttons on the dash, should it be a deal breaker. After considering everything, I still placed my order back end of January, having been in a similar situation when I got my Mk3 vRS years ago, back then is was the MIB 1 to MIB 2 Amundsen debate, the later produced cars (and mine) gave me two great years of motoring before the car reached the end of its leased time with me. I took a leap of faith then as I have now to a degree. But for those placing orders now, I’d say there are known issues which are being worked on otherwise people getting there cars in the last week or so would be contributing too. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. Think it may be time for a “things I love about my Mk4” just in the interests of balance. 😊
  15. I’ll miss that too. My current 5’er gives you the psi for each tyre, rather than a general “there’s a problem” go check all four tyres. 🤣🤣🤣
  16. I ordered 4x4 diesel, but who knows how these things pan out. I did get an email from the dealer earlier this week updating me on the fact that they didn’t have an update. 🤣 but to be fair it’s good customer service and was totally unprompted. so still waiting for a build week but not expecting anything for a good few weeks yet. I remember waiting for my Mk3 and I tortured myself the whole time, which had impact on the waiting time. 🤔 so I’m feeling a bit more relaxed and philosophical this time round. 😎
  17. Good news. I ordered my VRS end of January and was told late April early May, so your timeline tracks very similar to that. Encouraging for me, but not counting chickens, it will be here when it gets here. Hope you get behind the wheel soon. 👍🏼
  18. Exciting times. When did you order yours?
  19. It does make you wonder about this new model and the “support network” of dealers. Whether it’s over promising on a tow bar fitment, confusion /lack of knowledge regarding specs (both at dealers and on the web) or countless unresolved software / hardware issues, it does seem to have been a real mess of a new model launch. I know there’s a global pandemic and that life as we knew it is no more, but surely being able to understand whether you can fit a towbar or not BEFORE accepting the job isn’t too much to ask? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. Whatever you manage to do, keep us posted and I wish you well with the project. 👍🏼
  21. Hi, I think as the car itself is such a new model, you may struggle to find someone who has even asked this question let alone had the work done. I would start by speaking to the dealer and asking if there is a kit available to buy. I imagine car repair business’s will have to have the means of replacing broken lamps in the event of an accident. the wiring may also be available to buy. An auto electrician could wire the lamps but you may have have to run them to a separate switch inside the car, if your car doesn’t have the functionality to activate the front lamps (which I doubt it will from factory) The above is all theoretical based on previous experiences many many years ago when modifying my Peugeot 309 SRi (single fogs in front bumper) to look like a GTi (fogs and driving lamps in front bumper), but I had to buy the new bumper and light kit. ✌🏼
  22. Thanks. Appreciate the images too. Really helps. I’ve got a bit of wait for mine yet, most likely end of April mid May I think, but very much looking forward to it. yeah it definitely has noise cancelling and maybe an acoustic windscreen? So glad it seems to be effective. 👍🏼
  23. Thanks for the Canton feedback, any info is pretty thin on the ground on these forums. Are the mids in the front doors behind the doorcards? Bass aside (which I’m sure will improve with time) how is the clarity in the cabin?
  24. Thanks for your update. These things take a little time to loosen up. I currently have 2017 5series with bass speakers that are under the front seats. They were pretty poor for the first 12 months or so, but have become much better over the last couple of years and now they really do pack a punch. I do agree though that the sound can vary greatly depending on the source. 👍🏼
