Not sure how wipeable alcantara is to be honest, as I think a fair bit of the “leather” seats config is alcantara, but you know what you need, so ignore me if you’ve already factored that in. 👍🏼

Reading on one of the other threads, both of these models were launched “without” some key functions and VW openly admitted this was the case and that these would be online in the coming months after launch. I would also imagine that these OTA updates for the ID’s would be similar to the Tesla ones and are purely for fully electric performance / functionality, rather than general infotainment units. I could be wrong, but I’d say it’s the most likely.

That’s what I like, I’ve only actually seen about five new shape Octavias and only one white vRS, I like that rare element. Factory just needs to pull its finger out now and build mine soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi mate, how did you manage to get the detail from Skoda? What detail did you need to give them, order number? Dealer details? Spec of car?

As good as that would be, I doubt that Skoda are planning there production runs around the needs of the individual customers? But I’d love it if I’m wrong because it means hopefully my car could be ready some time this year! 🤣🤣

Ooof! That looks like an August delivery most likely. I can’t get my head around the different timelines being quoted for orders placed mid Jan to mid Feb. Also some orders placed later are are being allocated build weeks, eg I placed an order two weeks before you and my dealership are saying there has been no build week allocated yet. 🤷🏻‍♂️ To be honest if I get a build week similar to yours I’ll most likely be changing my plans. My current lease goes back end of April and I’ll be into excess mileage charges by then anyway, so not keen on that. Thanks for the update and hope this is a case of under promising and over delivering. 👍🏼

On my commute I put in the passenger footwell. If out with the family I’ll stick it in the boot. Or you could leave it at home and only use for overnight deterrent. For me, there will always be people who want someone’s nice new car, but if they see mine WITH that lock and another car without, then they choose the other one. 🤷🏻‍♂️

In my experience, physical deterrents are most effective in actually preventing an attempt, rather than foiling one. I’ve a good old fashioned disk lock that I’ll be putting on my vRS each night. 👍🏼

Thanks guys. 4wd vRS with Canton, meteor grey estate (combi), so not really heavy on the options at all. I don’t see many 4wd’s being mentioned on here though, so unsure if that also effects it. I was given 12-15 week lead time so I suppose I’m still within those,just. The timelines mentioned above have given me some comfort, fast forward to early May hopefully and taking delivery. 🤞🏼

Well nigh on 6 weeks since my car was ordered and had another (non) update from the dealer yesterday that the car still hadn’t been given a build date. From your experiences, is that normal and I shouldn’t be chasing them, or is that too long and I should be asking some questions? I’m in need of some context around my scenario. 😬😬 Cheers all.

I’ve not seen that literature before, but absolutely refers to all four doors having the ambient lights. I had put it down to VAG politics with only Golf8 having rear lighting, but what you’ve linked above clearly contradicts that now. However, when all said and done, it’ll count for nothing as they clearly don’t fit it in the rear doors. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m pretty sure this is legacy component architecture from the Mk3 where they had SD card readers in that spot. And even earlier than that there was a CD player in the space with the SD cards too, but that got phased out a while ago to leave a couple of SD card readers. Nothing to do with the MK4, I don’t think.
