  1. Forget the euros pricing, we confirmed UK launch prices a few pages back in this thread and it's approx £32k (list!) for the 245 DSG estate as in this video. Which inflation adjusted is barely any more than the list of the 245 MK3 facelift in 2018, but with a lot more standard spec.
  2. Saw this decent walk around video earlier, looks fantastic in Grey Estate form too.
  3. That seems rather good, especially given the order book isn't meant to be open until Tuesday, the marginal list price increase and very good standard spec. Don't seem to be able to choose colour or options on that site.
  4. Could you not have just said that first time round instead of talking about a completely unrelated car
  5. That's great and all, not really sure how it relates to my post about a hybrid Octavia though
  6. The hybrid is 2.2 seconds quicker than the petrol from 50-70mph according to the press release. That seems massive in a real world scenario and impressive given the weight penalty. Wonder what the 30-70 difference is?
  7. It makes sense for some. I'm still on the fence. BIK will be generous compared to the TSI and potentially the diesel for those wanting one as a company car. Those who only ever cover short trips and can charge at work or home may end up with only ever really using the electric side and cheaper running costs. It's not gonna be for everyone, but for some it will make sense. Pricing will play a huge part in whether it works in reality as a genuine alternative for those use cases. Autogefuhl did an English speaking video of the Cupra hybrid. I don't have the link to hand unfortunately.
  8. VRS IV orders are being taken from 3rd November. So basically a week after the TSI 245 orders begin. First deliveries expected Jan 2021. Still no word on pricing yet for the hybrid.
  9. Front sensors were a separate option or tied in with the Park Assist. I have 18" Geminis and Park assist and therefore the front sensors. Well specced VRS were always hard to find, especially earlier ones. When I bought mine things like Nav and Cruise Control weren't even standard! Had to do a 9 hour round trip to secure mine.
  10. I'm also intrigued by the next Cupra Leon. However, I think the ST AWD 310ps version is going to be high 30s at best. Maybe even nudging over the 40k bracket.
  11. New cars are expensive shocker? In January 2018 a 245 DSG hatch was £28640 list price. Accounting for inflation that's just over 30k. Given the excellent spec it has, it seems priced about right.
  12. Agree I think the spec is excellent. You could tick no options and be happy you have a well specced car. Makes leasing one a genuine option in future if there are good deals. Canton is a must for me, Winter Pack looks a bargain at 340. I'd probably add the reverse camera too as it looks like the dynamic indicators aren't standard either and tied to that or another option.
  13. I haven't seen the standard spec of the Golf, but I personally think the VRS prices are pretty good for 2020. It gets a lot of nice kit as standard.
  14. Pricing and standard spec has been announced by a Skoda dealer (who I won't name). Anyway... Order book opens near the end of this month. 245ps DSG only to start with. What do we all think? The all-new OCTAVIA vRS 2.0 TSI 245PS DSG will be available for customer ordering from Tuesday 27 October. 15. I think an element of patience is going to be required with it being such a new model and a model which is a lot more software rich than previous models. Not what you want to hear I'm sure, but unfortunately to be expected with being an early adopter of new tech. Software is always full of bugs and glitches on release. It should get better though.
  16. As above always the way with RHD conversion of models. The MK3 had the bonnet release lever on the passenger side (drivers side on LHD) and they didn't bother moving that. Has that been fixed on the MK4 or the same?
  17. Legit ones have an authenticity checker which should help, but would agree better to buy from reputable source.
  18. On price, I agree. Even if I have Dominos at half price I still think it is expensive for what it is. But there is something about it which is good. As with any food there is an element of personal preference and subjectivity but personally I really enjoy a dominos as an occasional treat and supermarket pizza doesn't provide the same level of satisfaction. Each to their own. I'm not sure the pizza metaphor really works either unless you know of some crazy cheap independent. I'd love to know where I could get a supermarket pizza price service for my car instead of a dominos price, but be done to the same dominos standard in ingredients and work. My local VAG independent charges £100 per hour Inc vat labour and my VRS takes nearly 6 litres of oil. I haven't found any decent independent VW specialist garage that will do a service significantly cheaper than a dealer to make it worthwhile. I think I paid £120 for my last main dealer oil change earlier this year. It's not like an independent is going to charge me half of that given the labour rate + materials and vat.
  19. Awesome just having a play on there. I think it looks fantastic and I'm really tempted to hold out for one as an upgrade from my MK3.
  20. What bulbs did you buy and how many did you need to get through?! They are fairly common D3S. I replaced mine with some Osrams and they worked fine first time and still going strong 3 years later. Avoid the cheap crap and stick with decent branded bulbs like Osram, Philips etc.
  21. I've never had a supermarket pizza (and I've tasted most) which comes anywhere close to the satisfaction of a Dominos.
  22. I'm also in the market as well for a Superb Sportline estate but pricing seems all over the place at the moment. I think a lack of new car demand and incoming used stock is driving used prices up. My Octavia VRS has apparently appreciated in the past year despite having another birthday and about 12k mileage put on it. Dragon green is the best colour and I think the Superb looks fantastic in colours that stand out. I think I'm going to bide my time for a well specced Sportline estate, ideally with the 280/272 engine, though I may settle for a TDI 190 4x4 if the perfect spec came up. Canton, VC and Columbus 2.5 are all non-negotiable for me. Alternatively if I find nothing I may cave and get a 5 series estate. 67 plate G31s are hovering round the 20k mark for a 20d m sport. Good luck with the search!
  23. Thanks both, sounds promising then! I've always thought Canton in the Octavia was pretty good, so I don't think I will be disappointed in the Superb 🙂
  24. Does the sub have more punch in the Octavia, at least from a driver perspective as it is closer? I deadened the boot on my Octavia and found the Canton sub has a reasonable punch. Looking to get a Superb estate soon and whilst glad to hear Canton sounds better, I'm curious about that small sub being tucked quite far away.
