  1. Any real difference between the Carbonio and Carbonspeed intakes? TIA.
  2. Don't suppose you ever discovered what this noise was? Mine has started doing the same thing, though it seems to be coming from the front offside of the car.
  3. Looks good, wish mine was that clean!
  4. Mine did this not long after having the car. Was due to a leaking charcoal canister.
  5. It starts with a paint test. Then they want photos. Then more photos. Then photos under a microscope. Then a paint report from an engineer. And so they continue to give you the run around hoping you will go away! My advice, don't give up, keep hassling them. Also check the rest of the car for these areas of rust. Mine has it on door panels and door shuts too. Boot lids also suffer, mine seems to be okay thankfully! Audi have a similar paint problem with some of their cars apparently but deal with it in an entirely different way.
  6. So I am still being given the run around by Skoda re. warranty claim on the dreaded rust bubble problem. Lower panels of both rear doors have now been done, but every time the car goes in new patches of rust are identified. This leads to a new warranty claim going in and the whole argument process starts again. Skoda customer service have been very good, it is the warranty department that are giving me the run around. Even the dealer seems to have thrown the towel in :-( So how have others managed to achieve a successful outcome? TIA.
  7. Indeed. But this is quite noticeable, it visibly moves from side to side. Just wondered if that amount of movement was normal.
  8. Excellent. Thanks guys. I assume it is supposed to vibrate when the engine is at idle?
  9. Probably a stupid question, but what the hell is the thing circled in the pic? TIA
  10. This treatment of customers by Skoda really ****es me off. What difference does 1 service make re. the failing of your steering rack? FA in my opinion. A steering rack shouldn't be failing in this sort of time frame. Love how Skoda want to be viewed as a more premium brand yet aren't willing to treat their customers in a premium manner.
  11. This. Tweet Skoda UK, I had no luck with the rust on mine until I did this. Even now I'm still fighting to get panels sorted, but letting the world know about their shoddy treatment of customers certainly made them pay a little more attention.
  12. Surely a steering rack shouldn't fail after 4 years?
  13. Fitted my centre caps, so much better than the manky ones they have replaced. Didn't take the wheels off, screwed a screw into the old caps and then just pulled them out. New centres needed a fair old whack to get them in, certainly won't be losing them at motorway speeds. £35 for 4, a bit more than others have paid but. I got them then and there. I'm happy with them, now thinking about the boot badge.
  14. Cheers for that. Have heard that on some cars the clips prevent the windows from closing tightly and there can be a bit more noise at motorway speeds. So good to know that the clips can be done away with!
  15. Did you need the clips for the front pair? Or was the fit tight enough that you could opt not to use them? Car looks good, really liking the black/chrome badges.
  16. Just figured this amount of soot was due to incomplete combustion. So too little oxygen/too much fuel.
  17. Thanks for all the replies. Just going to ignore it as suggested in the first reply!!! People must have thought I was mad as I walked around the supermarket carpark checking out people's exhausts Never had a car that's done it this badly before. So why are these engines running rich and does a remap sort it? Seems such a waste of V-Power Optimax Nitro+++ or whatever Shell's newest super duper fuel is labelled these days!!!
  18. Car is petrol. It's the inside of the pipes that are going black. Car was serviced a week ago and given a clean bill of health.
  19. Re. wheel centres, what's the difference between the fod and the ulm part numbers? TIA.
  20. Mine was the evap canister. It was leaking, soon sorted.
  21. No excessive smoke, in fact very little at all. Would ignore it but my eye just keeps getting drawn to it. Will look into the ACF50 stuff. Cheers.
  22. Anyone else have this problem? My exhaust tips are constantly covered in a black deposit, assume it is carbon. Clean them up, go for a drive and it is back. Any suggestions as to what I can do about this? The constant pipe shining is getting a little tiresome!
  23. Thanks for that Scibbler. How are you finding the Miltek?
