Vegasphil replied to tubbytommy's topic in Cars For Sale
Good luck selling. Arguably one of the best specced you will see. I think it's a great price. -
Anybody own high milage 2.0tfsi vrs ?

Thats brilliant that. The car looks to have been very reliable for you! -
rear wheel bearing or tyres ?
Vegasphil replied to keith_the's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
It will probably be tyres. You can run your hand round the tread. If it feels uneven or bumpy then it's probably the cause. Over the years the tyres on the back may collapse a little causing the noise. -
I very much doubt you could claim after all this time from the old garage. You could (depending on how you feel about it) wash your hands of it and sell to WBAC or similar as it's running at the moment. They pay a lower price but they know the cars they buy will be sometimes good or sometimes bad - so IMO no serious moral implications for disposing of it that way!

Why delete it on a CR? Do you have a fault?

Locking Wheel nuts.......
Vegasphil replied to alexlowe's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had this on my wife's mini. I went in and bought another set from the dealer. They had a set of master lock nut keys so I found the right one and swapped them there and then in the car park! Sadly I had to bin the old nuts but it was better than paying and waiting for a new wheel nut to come through - would have taken 2 weeks! -
It's getting traction all this "we hate diesel" stuff. Just look at the prices of some cars in petrol variants - golf gti, 5 series etc. However, the government spent a long time in recent years suggesting people buy diesel, so to suddenly ban them or hike the taxes massively I can't see personally.

Idiot has scartched my car
Vegasphil replied to LordRaiden84's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Looks like a bag scratch. You should get that out. I had had a Bodyshop take most of a scratch out of the side of my car. It literally went the whole length. Everything dissapeated except three small marks at the deepest points. Much cheaper than a respray!! -
Large good quality car sponge recommendations ?
Vegasphil replied to YS53's topic in Styling and Car Care
I just regularly buy sponges from Wilko/home bargains a few at a time and chuck them away or demote to wheels/dirty work after a few washes. -

Those units don't look bad at all! Have you got yours yet? -
I found it easy to spin the wheels on mine. Just a part of owning one of these I'd say.

Set of locking wheel nuts and alloy wheel bolts
Vegasphil replied to Vegasphil's topic in Parts For Sale
They are literally used wheel bolts but will grab you some. -
Bilstein and eibach springs are the weapon of choice for many on here. They do a great value B4 Sport Shock too.

I have a bag of alloy wheel bolts for sale including a set of locking wheel bolts. Say £15? Collection from Fareham or I can post.

I have a grille off a Octy VRS. The Bodyshop started colour coding this one and were in the process of peeling the chrome off before abandoning it (after having it for months!!) and just painting my standard grille. Needs finishing off - ideal for someone to do the best mod on a VRS. Colour coded grille (as it should have left the factory!) Some pics attached showing various areas. Seems to have a fine crack at the bottom and some kind of stopper filler the Bodyshop put on there in the corner! Will need a new centre badge. £40 posted (or collection from Fareham)

Can you buy just the grill chrome surround?
Vegasphil replied to roaddetective's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Im just putting one up for sale with a vrs grille. Needs work. -
I have a set of these off my Golf GT for sale. Great looking wheel - I've never seen it done, but I really think they would suit an Octavia VRS! Could do with a refurb - They haven't had an easy life. Have 225/45/17 tyres Falkens and Dunlop SP on the rear. I would describe tread as "low" but all four passed MOT earlier this month. I will get some pictures up for you if interested. £200 for all 4 Collection from Southampton! Cheers, Phil
