  1. Just front heated seats as standard, then on the pre-FL the winter pack adds heated wheel and washer jets. Sadly no pan roof at all to option at the moment oddly.
  2. Great find - must be very recent as I've been keeping an eye on it. I've been going round in circles as to whether I should have waited for the FL for my VRS order I've placed - I'm glad to see that the SportLine 1.5 with the same options as I've added is almost exactly the same price as the VRS i've ordered - so feel a bit more sure now which is nice!
  3. @Giannis20 - How exact do you think the 10mm thickness needed to be? For those of us that aren't very good at cutting rings with jigsaws, all I seem to be able to find is 14mm or 20mm spacers to buy.
  4. Ahh we have a strange threshold in our road tax where if a car is >£40k, its considered "high value", and attracts an extra £400/year road tax for 5 years. The VRS in the UK is about £37500 out of the gate in the UK, and optioned pretty well, so with my existing options, the extra electric seat option pushes it over, so costs an extra £2000 in tax in addition to the £2400 for the seats themselves, i.e. £4400 to add the seats without removing DCC all in. Thanks - Thats good as thats what I've currently got optioned!
  5. Would absolutely love to spec both, but I can't wrap my head around 12%/£4400 of the cars purchase price on the seat upgrade in this case - If I had another option also to push it over the 40k band it would feel like more of a justification! We wanted the panoramic roof too, which apparently they don't actually sell, which would have also pushed it over - if I could have both, it would make the >£40k surcharge worthwhile!
  6. Debating changing options on a VRS. I've currently spec'd: The full Traffic Assist Blind Spot Detection DCC Winter Pack (not sure why - there was some confusion on my behalf here re: heated seats). Having looked at a couple of different VRSs, I really like the Leather+Alcantara seats over the standard cloth, but adding them (even if removing the Blind spot as included, and winter pack) puts it about £200 over the extra UK VED supplement. My options seem to be stick with the DCC, or drop the DCC and get the (£2400!) seat option, as I don't fancy paying the initial £2400 + £2000 over 5 years for seats! Its for both me, and shipping the family, so (without having driven one) it feels like the DCC comfort may be useful. Does anyone have experience of both, or have any idea if the DCC is that valuable?
  7. Are the spacers just cut out of dense rubber? Looks neat.
  8. That’s a shame to read it only does small bends (coming from a Volvo V60 with the full PilotAssist which would take almost any bend, sometimes without slowing down 😳). Is that the same for both the factory activation and the retro?
  9. Is this in the standard VRS seats or the electric? (Reason I ask is that I’m going back and forth over optioning the electric ones - seems horrifically expensive though and pushes the car up a tax band, so the lifetime cost is £££)
  10. That would explain why they were so eager to push the order through that day… was told that systems are busy when the dealer contribution deal ends. I wonder if I’m worth pulling the plug on it(which it reads like I can do) and waiting… if it takes as long as the superb has to arrive then I’m happy to stay put with the current order, but it looks like the Superb is an entire platform update, where this seems like a very minor facelift.
  11. Wow that’s very quick - I ordered mine the day after, they were saying about 12 weeks, but I’ve got no build week as yet. How do you feel about ordering the pre facelift?
  12. If they end up producing the new spec, how does that work in terms of options? Looking at reviews, they’ve changed a few bits and bobs (and indeed the powertrain is rather different)
  13. Pushing the limits of my knowledge of speaker design (and indeed physics), when an enclosure is smaller, the electrical impedance of a speaker gets larger. I suspect if the foam is completely blocking it moving properly, the impedance is significantly higher still. Given all the crossover is passive, I would guess If the impedance of the woofer has increased, and the tweeter is the same, the voltage drop over the woofer will be comparatively larger than the tweeter, muting the tweeter further.
  14. Hey, Very excited to be joining the club! Ordered a new VRS about 3 weeks ago, and have been given a 3-4month lead. Given how long the new Superb has been sat at "Coming Soon" (seems to have been a long time so far), I wasn't initially worried given how long it would likely be for the new VRS. I've just seen this week gone that the current Octavia is no longer available for order, and many news outlets saying the new one is due for late 2024. Does anyone have any idea how long the cars sit as "Coming soon", and then how long the lead time is on the new models? If its going to be a month or two after delivery, then that would be frustrating, but if its 6mo-1yr, then less so. Have I made a mistake ordering and not waiting? The powertrain and options list on the new one appears to be quire a bit better, and I suspect I could still cancel the order without any penalty.
