How reliable have your Rapids/Toledo’s been long term?
I'll have my car for 3 years in February, and so far (touch wood)it's been without major issues, certainly nothing like you've mentioned. It's had a few small problems (if you can call them those, plus the car is 7 years old, so...): Timing chain tensioner needed to be replaced as it begun to rattle when starting, but that was a relatively quick fix by a local garage. The front passenger window mechanism gave up one day with a loud bang, so the window remained shut until it was replaced. Again, a relatively quick fix (once they got the right part) by a local garage The panoramic roof cracked from a stone chip (I think? No idea really) and had to be replaced, but that was done through insurance so only cost me the excess (at a total cost of £1500+). As @chrisgreenmentioned, it is a bit of a noisy car in terms of rattles and whatnot. There's quite a few threads on here about them squeaking over bumps.

From what I've seen of it, I'd be very surprised if anyone on here is a member Mostly seems to be teenagers meeting in carparks.

I'd never been before, but would happily go again! Walking past the YHA Ravenstor house was a big eerie though! Also amazed at what you find atop a mountain

Cleaning & Detailing: what did you do to your motor today?
I don't miss having a black metallic car, but I'm somewhat jealous of how well they shine up (especially compared to my white gloss).

Good news for Welsh Motorsport
(From Motorsport UK) "Motorsport UK is pleased to confirm the easing of restrictions on the number of participants in motorsport events taking place in Wales. The news follows the announcement last night by First Minister Mark Drakeford that Wales is moving into alert level one. Events are now able to take place if run in accordance with the latest Motorsport UK Restart Guidance. All organisers planning events and activities must undertake a full risk assessment and put in place measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including social distancing." https://www.motorsportuk.org/news/more-good-news-for-motorsport-in-wales/ They also announced on Facebook that spectator limits will be set at 4,000 per event.

Cleaning & Detailing: what did you do to your motor today?
Gave the interior a good clean this week: Hoovered throughout - Boot included Cleaned the interior plastic/trim with Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner Cleaned the leather steeringwheel, handbrake etc with Autogrlym Leather Cleaner Applied Autoglym Leather Care Balm to the above (makes the car smell fantastic) Cleaned the front 2 seats with Autoglym Interior Cleaner - Water wasn't too bad, but still went a sandy opaque colour, yuck! Cleaned the interior windows with Autoglym Fast glass and 'Minky' window cloth Replaced Cabin Pollen Filter Cleaned the AC using one of those spray cans (where you set it off and run the AC for 10 minutes). Stopped the slightly musty smell when you first turn it on after the car sits for a while. I have noticed whenever I use Fast Glass on the windscreen I end up with a greasy looking haze on the inside, no matter how much I buff it. Any suggestions? Cleaned the cloth and tried other cloths, but always end up with this haze.

What happened to your old cars?
My first car was a S reg Ford KA, that registration is no longer on the DVLA website (it was coming to end of it's life when we sold it, so I can't imagine it ran for much longer). 2nd car was a 05 plate Clio we sold a friend who's son was leaning to drive at the time - Still registered on DVLA and MOT'd 3rd car was a 11 pate Skoda Fabia - Write off through accident 4th Car was a 10 plate Seat Ibiza - Still registered on DVLA and MOT'd

Body kit/splitter recommendations
I've had a Maxton splitter (bought from their ebay store as it was significantly cheaper than their own online store). Their customer service prior to the purchase was great. They answered all questions in detail and even provided details on fitting. Delivery was well within their time frame (although that's down to the courier). The splitter itself looks great/as described. I got it fitted at a local garage for peace of mind (but you can do it yourself). Not had any issues with it, and it's taken a few knocks but has remained damage free and still secure.

Trying my hand at waterfall photography with long exposure. Didn't have a tripod, so had to lean against a tree. Fairly pleased with it, but will use a tripod next time for a "smoother" look in the water.

Bonelorrys MK6 Golf Match TDI Daily
Looking sharp! Positively brand new in terms of overall condition! I hope you don't mind me asking, but what's the benefit to using Glass polish on the windows as well as Fast Glass cleaner?

WRC changes for 2017
Odd question, but can anyone shed some light on why Redbull seem to have stopped plastering the cars with their logo since Citroen departed? Would have thought they'd have covered this seasons Yaris in the sponsorship,

Skoda Rapid - 2014 - Audio & MFD Upgrade
Has anybody put an aftermarket unit into their car? I've installed an aftermarket/third party Android unit in my 2014 Rapid. The exact model isn't made anymore, but have a look at https://audiotechdirect.com/ as that's where I got mine from. If you're unsure about which units will fit, the customer service is brilliant and they'll happily point you in the right direction. They even do the dashboard surround for the Rapid (looks identical to the standard dashboard) so it all fits together nicely. The head units come with Sat Nav, Wifi, DAB/DAB+ and a whole host of other things. Because they are Android, you can download any App through Google Play. Are they easy to install? Yes. You just pry off the plastic surround and there are 4 Torx screws to undo, then the head unit just wiggles out. unclip the looms at the back and you're ready for install - Same process but in reverse. You may need to check if you need any additional cables, I needed a converter for the AM/FM antenna. Will my MFD still work as normal? Not had any issues with mine. All the buttons on the steering wheel worked straight away as well (though there is an option on the unit to assign buttons if you get any issues). Is the dealership right about me not being able to install a salvage unit? I asked my local Dealership a similar question and got told the only unit I could have was Kenwood unit, at a cost of £1000 including them installing it.

Rally GB loses slot on 2021 calendar
So it's been confirmed that Wales Rally GB won't be going ahead this year, due to Ypres taking it's place on the calendar. https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/ypres-takes-rally-uks-slot-on-2021-wrc-calendar/ Be interesting to see what happens for 2022 as in does it return to Wales, or finally move to Ireland.

How To Stop Our car being stollen throught OBD2 port ?
We recently had several cars on our street "tagged" to be stolen. The owners woke up and found black spray paint on them and the rear plates had been painted over. Then a few days later a couple of lads were spotted wandering round cars parked on the drives, having a good look. They ran off when challenged and not seen them since, although the police have done a few slow crawls around. There was a Golf Mk7 and an Audi (A5 I think) marked, along with a 17 plate Seat Leon. Strangely they also marked a 10 plate Astra. However, the much newer cars on the road (19/20 plates) from the likes of Peugeot, Citroen, Skoda etc weren't touched.

Skoda Scala SEL White & Black
Fantastic looking car. From the side they look very similar to the A3. What engine size did you go for?
