I've also been looking in to bigger brake kits, and from what I can make out the brakes should be the same fitting as the A1 set up so it would be interesting to know if the S1 brakes fit, or what other OEM brakes would be a simple bolt on upgrade

Hi all, I have a new monte carlo 110ps estate, ill be getting it mapped around christmas when I've put some decent running in mileage on it. I was tempted to get the Forge induction kit and dump valve (pretty much the only tuning parts I've found for the engine), however after speaking to Awesomegti I've been put off as they recon they'll add no noticeable performance advantage (I'm used to the world of the 2.0 tfsi engines where an induction kit, stronger diverter valve and a better flowing down pipe can reap good rewards when mapping). Very least I wanted the dump valve to try and reduce the turbo lag and potentially increase the life of the turbo by reducing the boost pressure putting extra strain on the turbo when the throttle is closed but Awesomegti recon I might loose a bit of power, in my naive view I can't understand why. I would be interested to hear views from the few people that have tinkered with the engine. One modification that would certainly help would be a sports cat down pipe but I can't find any off the self parts yet, only for the older 105ps engine. I don't want to go crazy but if I can get a little extra then it would be nice, I almost feel like my testicles have been cut off coming from a Golf R32 and a 245bhp Gti before that, I suppose that's what happens when you grow older and have responsibilities on a budget!

my 6 day old 110 1.2 tsi with manual gearbox got over 60mpg at times on my 25 mile commute this morning, overall was around 58/9

Hi all! The start/stop has been working a lot more recently, now ive nearly just 200 miles on her. I've got the smartlink/andriod auto working now, it just took a few minutes on my lunch break to have a tinker about with it!- only thing annoys me google play only picks up certain music from my phone (not all of it!), and when the phone is connected via bluetooth, it now detects all my music but it is silent when playing? I did get sent the MY17 revisions but i seem to have misplaced it, one of the revisions was you can now specify a black center console for free, assuming the red is a bit too much for some people, I wanted to change it to black but it was too late as I had already placed the order for the car

Hi all, I picked up my monte last night. Apparently it was the first my17 monte estate to be made, so it was delayed for quality checks, just after 10 weeks after ordering I finally got it. Was meant to get it next week but I kicked up a fuss (was supposed to have gotten it at the start of June) so they sent a transporter to the port to pick it up a week early. Anyway... its a 1.2 tsi 110bhp with cruise control and climate control. I had to sell my R32 due to needing a larger more economically friendly car, as my new job is considerably further away and my partner is about to drop out daughter! Apart from the lack of speed I'm loving it! Start/stop seems to be a bit dodgy though, the A with a cross through it kept coming up as I came to a stop, i'm sure its working i'm just not used to it yet, I also need to figure out why it doesn't detect any music on my phone via bluetooth and why when i plug it in via usb the smartlink doesn't work, but I haven't had time to mess about with it yet, I'll save that excitement for tonight.
