where is the sensor located? is it supposed to be just a swap of sensors and some coding to get auto wipers? Do you not need a new wiper stalk? One with an auto setting? I'm sure on my old mk5 golf gti and R32 it had a special position for auto wipers, like there is an auto setting for cars with auto headlights

So why did you choose an automatic transmission Skoda?
Jeffchiz replied to a topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Yes I had the older 6 speed wet clutch DSG box. I have nothing to base this on but when I first got my r32 i was looking in to common issues with the dsg boxes and it seemed every issue was coming from the newer 7 speed dry clutch. been such a long time since I looked I cant remember what the issues were I wouldve still had a DSG monte instead of my manual as i'll only be keeping it until the end of my PCP anyway so what ever happens after that wouldn't bother me, I just couldn't justify paying extra for something that I didnt need -

My first experience was my last car, a 2006 Golf R32 with DSG, i bought it because i was intrigued to try a DSG (I had a manual golf gti of the same shape before) and because of my price range there wasn't an awful lot of r32 to choose from so i just bought the nicest one i could find which happened to be DSG. I loved it apart from at junctions it didn't like to almost coming to a stop and then stamping hard on the accelerator to get out in to traffic, it would be lifeless for a few secs (which is pretty dangerous if you're trying to get out quick) so I had to hold off sometimes and it could be jerky pulling off if you were being a bit lazy and not really controlling the accelerator, you had to let the car roll a bit then put your foot down OR just put your foot down, if you tried anything in between it would be jerky. -
Well they've given me 2 services, they know its a brand new car so they will know exactly what the 2 first services would consist of surely. I'm paying for the car plus climate control minus my deposit+contribution that's it. My dads owns a vehicle leasing company so I am certainly not naive when it comes to how dealers and unscrupulous leasing companies work.

I got two free services when i bought my car so two fingers up to the lot of you

as already said, the way it is set up means you can change gear while the cc is activated

I picked my monte estate 110ps on the 5th July and it has a smooth pipe -
2 Skoda Family... Update! We have it!
Jeffchiz replied to ExSEAT's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
make sure you get some photos up. Ive got a monte estate, i wanted an ocavia vrs (as I had a mk5 golf gti and r32 before hand) but it was just too much for me atm so I had to settle with the fabia estate as i didnt really take to the rapid or the yeti. I've changed my mind somewhat on the yeti's but to get one id want would be more than the fabia i wanted so i'm happy. When I chop the fabia in my salary should've at least doubled which will be perfect timing to get a mk8 golf gti/r, so im holding on in hope ha -
I've just bought some Neolux H7 (477) +50% (which are made by OSRAM) from Euro Car Parts they were in the clearance section at £10 and I used a voucher code got them for £7.50 delivered! even if they are no better its a cheap set of spare bulbs

As said earlier the panoramic roofs, such as my monte estate, don't have a visible aerial, if this is what is confusing people

Daytime running lights
Jeffchiz replied to Skodafabiaperth's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
How strange, I thought there were two types of headlights. The standard lights on the s and se and then the darker lights that came on the colour/monte/SEL. And i thought all darker headlights had the DRL's. So it seems the OP has the darker lights with the led's built in but they aren't used for DRL's -
Spring upgrade option - dealer approved?

I can't imagine the suspension strut will need any different for 'sport suspension' it's just springs... so you already have the loweree springs from the factory but want to change them? -
Anybody mounted a Rear wing on MK3?

17" Alloy and Sport Suspension options
Jeffchiz replied to DDixon's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I want to lower my monte estate, I want to go lower than the skoda 'sports suspension' though, it hardly seems worth the money, it doesn't have to be stupidly low but the back still looks like its on stilts! I wish I had gone 17" wheels though, I might get some 17" rotor alloys, they're a bit over done in the VAG scene but they are a good looking wheel -
yea see here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/404727-my-new-my17-monte-carlo-estate/?hl=+monte%20+carlo%20+estate

yea, apparently mine was the first MY17 monte carlo estate to be built, so subsequently it was delayed getting to me

I'm on the look out for some coilovers, ill just take them off at the end of the contract -
It's still a lease, it just on PCH not PCP. My dad owns a leasing company and it makes his blood boil when companies advertise **VW Golf R only £150 a month** when you can only cover 5 miles a year and have to sell your testicles.

The umbrella is put in the right hand storage compartment in the boot, took me a week or so to realise it was there, it's now been moved to its rightful place under the passenger seat

Indeed nearly 50mpg is a lovely feeling, but I'm a car fanatic so I'm always going to want a bit more power, thankfully I have a project car to tinker about with, this car is purely a car to get to work and back and lug the kids around, but its a nice feeling knowing you can overtake someone or come off a roundabout faster if you wish to get the sensation of a nice bit of acceleration, you'll usually find me with the cruise control on at about 55mph behind a lorry nowadays trying to get a high drivegreen score ha

I haven't no but I'm sure I would love it, I'm fairly happy with the 1.2 engine but i would like a little more go, you get a nice kick when the turbo kicks in but then seems to go really flat and the lag can be terrible trying to move away in 2nd bfrom a slow speed, I've noticed I've used first gear so many times compared to other more powerful cars, which is fine just takes a little getting used to
-
I do realise some engines aren't designed to be used with an atmospheric dump valves, hence why i fitted the GFB DV+ to my gti and not a dump valve (I understand it sounds like a fitted a dump valve in one of my previous responses, I was just explaining what to do to fit one) I'm not a kid looking for a cool sound hence why I said in my first post, I only want to fit them if they are actually going to give me a power increase And terms of reducing the money in my pocket, i used to commute 50+ miles a day in my R32, believe me you couldn't do anything to this engine that would yield the sort of economy I had in that ha
-
There is a lot of reasons why manufactures wouldn't increase power levels even if its safe to do so, most engines aren't just in safe, but usually purposely engineered to be less powerful. Whether this is to create an engine for a certain market, produce certain emissions, be within a tax band etc
-
The forge website sates that these engines do not use any type of dump valve, which makes sense as when you fit the Forge item you do not remove an existing part and you have to use a boost tap as there isn't on there already. On my golf gti you had to remove the diverter valve to fit an atmospheric dump valve, unless the 1.2 uses a set up where you run both.. I understand what you're saying, but I would've thought any amount of boost would create turbulence when the throttle is closed in the intake slowing the turbo down, and the dump valve should only vent the excess pressure but keep enough in the system
