  1. A Hybrid Fabia VRS MK4 is about the only car I would consider and since it will never exist there will not be a 'buzz' about the MK4.
  2. I got mine raised up a bit as coilovers had no spring/give at all when really low, so 1inch gap now when i changed the tyres, seemed to make a difference on rear tyre wear on those 'fast roundabouts' and comfort is about 2/3 of original springs.
  3. Unless you have brand new good tyres and they are warm with lower than normal pressure, anything above 200bhp you are wheel spinning FWD from a standing Traffic light start. Would only consider 205 at the rear if 215 on the front and on a deal for 205, In the DSG MK2 you have to be slightly rolling a bit. Extra Power is nothing without traction to go with it
  4. What size are you on fronts, i replaced the rainsports a while back as the rears were shot on the inside edge, went with 4 X 215/40/17 Yokohama Advan Neova.
  5. Pilot sports like Dunlop's are made of cheese, im now on Yokohamas
  6. Get some old 17" alloys, refurbish and powder coat, much more fun and cheaper, once powder coated easy to fix minor chips.
  7. The spring seems weak if car stood still for a while I have to push it downwards and it will spring back into life, don't know what a permanent fix is however
  8. Only ever need half litre top up once a year now, many years ago in the oil burning days used to have put in half a litre with every fuel top up.
  9. Unless the red oil light was on or virtually empty / drained from sump, then you could have overfilled
  10. Lol what was the car that bailed out backwards
  11. You have just reminded me to put the DRLs on now I'm working again, also referred to as Front Fogs by Kwik fit', I too once failed an MOT, dummy blue euro 'sidelight' bulbs not working and they thought DRLs were front fogs
  12. Might not help but you could try a Rear Anti Roll on tightest setting if one available Could improve tyre wear but might still be out a few mm
  13. Skoda Colne had my car a FULL week while they did the 'open heart surgery' & I only went ahead as the head tech said he had done a few of them all with good results. In the process the car was detuned to around 173bhp, ive always wondered how mostly the CTHE 2012-14, got round the oil problem as the replacement oil jets are from the older CAVD Scirocco but weren't used as a fix until after the VRS 2014 went out of production...unless the older oil jets were sneaked into the CTHE version.
  14. This is corrected for RHD mk2, you need to cross reference fuse rating with your hand book
  15. Not sure what C3 means, have used this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Castrol-157EA5-Professional-5W-30-Litres/dp/B077K49T9J/ref=asc_df_B077K49T9J/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310844688948&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4745157726787705248&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006585&hvtargid=pla-425941911736&psc=1
  16. The oil fixes should not cost more than £1000 or 1000euro, Ive always used Castrol Edge 5w-30
  17. Still some CAVES about mine 10 years old now, best to avoid if a lot of previous owners,
  18. Don't forget to add on 'Lifeshine' which is £199+ and is basically a small red box of cheaper end autoglym and some chamoit cloths....
  19. I'm sure the fogging (moisture) disappears when they are warm and been on for while
  20. Thought DSG oil was only supposed to be done by dealer as sealed unit? it's not in service schedule, was wondering as other than wrong oil to start with, what instigates an oil DSG change, mileage say 100,000miles or age, some of these VRS MK2 as per mine are now 10 years old.
  21. You mean the mineral oil Vs synthetic oil for DSG, dealers did a lot under recall. Didn't know you could do it yourself.
  22. At the minute tuning ANY sort of car is one of the few things you can still do, so for a younger (or older) guy who is working they have nothing to spend their cash on; no all night raves, no stag do's, no away day football match, etc.. I literally had no money for cars in my twenties. It was full on partying... The tuning shop near me is absolutely mowed out with work. I bet it's the same everywhere. The amount of cars I hear now with cherry bomb blowback exhausts on a sunny day is beyond ridiculous.
  23. Like many I had oil problem (in past), this what happens to spark plug, luckily engine not turned into toast. Always seemed to be cylinder 3...so after that started to number them, These VRS MK2 some are 10 years old now, for anyone new to owning 2nd / 3rd hand, it's still worth getting them checked at least every service, even if low miles
