  1. Ordered mine through the main dealer. I think it was about £26+VAT from memory.
  2. Also appeared in my YouTube recommended videos today. The weight of the car is impressive too, aside from all the modifications. Possibly the single best advantage over the mk2 Superb!
  3. Great, thanks for the reply! Yep I was keeping an eye on the ET. Cheers!
  4. That looks excellent! You seem to have changed a few times already this year - did you have any problems with rubbing etc? I'm thinking of going for an 8Jx18" but have 4x4 so need to keep the same size all round. Cheers, Steve
  5. Thanks for all the quick responses. I am sure that Witter have offered full after market kits so it would function as per OE - presumably with the diags mentioned. I hadn’t really considered that there’d be an option to not install the electrics, mostly wanted to check there was no simple phone app + ODBII reader option to enable the coding (wishful thinking). i think as I don’t know what was actually installed the simplest option might be to simply try enabling the code and see what happens? cheers, Steve
  6. Is that even wear across the tyre? I’m fairly sure I’ve read of an issue with high tyre wear on the inside of rears.. Hah, I’d still expect the fronts to be worn - surely they must be slipping to engage the haldex? cheers Steve
  7. I see you posted about a wiring harness...does it fit? Did you have to buy a new fitting kit? cheers, Steve
  8. Welcome to the Skoda fold. I also have an iPhone 7 and Columbus with Bluetooth module. I’ve never had to do anything special to set it up. Thinking about it though, many of the features do have their own volume control as well as the master volume so with a call in progress, try turning the volume up! Alternatively, I’ve never noticed music from my phone playing out of only one speaker, however I *think* telephone calls only use the driver speaker so if turning up the volume doesn’t help could be a failed speaker. I suspect @Rustynuts will know if I’m correct on how that works... cheers, Steve
  9. Hi, My Skoda Superb estate came with an after-market witter towbar installed. It seems like this isn’t coded in. It’s not a big issue as I only carry a bike rack so probably never more than 30-40kg but it is annoying with parking sensors and I’d like to get it sorted. i assume this is an option that needs to be added with VCDS (and only VCDS)? cheers, steve
  10. Kenwood provide fitting kits for various vehicles. Take a look here: https://www.kenwood.eu/files/file/car/eu/DDIN/2DIN.pdf Looks like the mk2 Octavia and Superb require different fitting kits. I don’t have a Kenwood head unit myself but I have also been looking at replacing the Columbus with one. Cheers, Steve
  11. Thats true, the estate/twindoor does give you a very big opening and load space. I like extra space of the estate for hauling bike stuff
  12. Hah, I won’t PM you if I sell mine then - about to hit 107k on an ‘11 plate
  13. The first of those isn’t an estate though. The second car looks nice, no shift paddles though. I believe in the UK these were options on Elegance-spec cars. L&K I think has them and I would certainly recommend them What sort of age car are you expecting to buy? Cheers, Steve
  14. Mite definitely the right shape from behind...even more so if the exhausts were more visibly shiny!
  15. Noticed on arriving at work that I have lost one of the arch liner fixing screws for rear passenger side. A quick search reveals lots of items claiming to be the part - anyone know the correct part number (or size?) Cheers, steve
  16. I can’t tell you details about the job but if you’re going to go to all that trouble then it might make sense to check for carbon buildup too, as it’s an FSI engine. I’d be interested to know what you find if you do that as mine has now ticked over 105k miles
  17. I have the standard stereo in mine; it's the only thing that's slightly disappointing about the car. That's interesting, I'd been wondering about replacing the head unit this year anyway and hoped that might bring improved sound but I guess not... Something to bear in mind anyway. Cheers, Steve
  18. I should add - I think you @SlowV6 need to decide what body shape you want. I have an estate and agree with @Wile7 that it’s better. More practical and I think looks better. I also have the “flappy paddles” - definitely good to have if you want to enjoy the car. Of the two you posted, I’d want the estate but I would definitely want to find out what it’s been used to tow. The v6 is the strongest with highest towing rating in the range - I don't think it’s an issue for the engine (although the towbar needs to be coded in correctly to prevent engine check lights/limp mode?) but I’d be concerned about rear shocks. It’s already a heavy beast before you add more weight...
  19. I wouldn’t have bought mine without the front sensors - I activate them with the button on the console just maneuvering into the work car park for example. Very useful to have - there’s quite an overhang at the front (more so than the Passat I believe). On the haldex and DSG servicing, from memory I don’t think there’s even a tick box in the service book for it so you do need to see a receipt. Both of those would apply to any mkII Superb for me. Still happy with mine after nearly 25,000 miles in less than 2 years... Cheers, Steve
  20. Hmmm...perhaps I need to check they’ve not moved in some way, at least on the passenger side... Can’t say I’ve noticed wind noise being increased by having them just different. But that may also be related to what I think is quite a lot of noise from the tires that were on there when I bought it. That’s about to be sorted...
  21. I like those rally-style stripes a lot - really subtle but just enough to set it off against the white... also a bit like the BMW grill stripes you see!
  22. Did you do anything about the mirrors fouling on the wind deflectors in the end? @Jonny5ive I've noticed the same thing has happened on mine, apparently only on the passenger side though. Didn't realise until I saw a chunk of paint appears to be missing! Cheers, Steve
  23. Hi, if you’re still after one I still have the boot liner from my pre-FL Roomster in the garage. I ordered mine from the main dealer with the car. If interested, I’m in the midlands pretty close to Nottingham and Derby, plus regularly in Sheffield. I don’t think it would be worth me posting it! cheers, Steve
  24. I think 25ish at best from my pre-FL car. It doesn’t get much above 30 on the maxidot even on a long run at 70 on the M1 without having to touch brake/accelerator I find. Sitting in traffic/town driving is very inefficient, unsurprisingly. I think I average about 260 miles between refuelling. I think the worst I’ve seen was after a fair bit of “enthusiastic” driving through the Peaks etc and got a little over 200 miles before refuelling... The car really needs a bigger tank - something to watch out for on long trips!
  25. That is interesting to read - mine came with what I’d say are budget tires nearly brand new. They seem to be surprisingly hard-wearing though, given I’ve made no attempt to conserve them and they don’t seem particularly worn after nearly 15k miles. I assume that means a hard compound and that’s contributing to the noise. Been wondering what to replace them with.
