well street weekend was fun, after the car had been sitting for a few months thought id bring it back out again. managed 2nd in the overall diesel class with darkside taking 1,2,3. also managed a 0-60 in 5.18 seconds on melbourne's no prep surface

Little test session at Crail on thier track yesterday, Mainly for datalogging and watching temps to see how it copes on track. Was running great until the last session. after the first couple of laps the car started spluttering go into limp mode but instead of letting you drive it would just die (not the best when you're on track!) Into the pits plugged in VCDS and came back with a fuel pressure regulator valve code. Cleared it and then car wouldn't start great. Had a look had it and it looks like the cable on the plug was abit tight so loosened it and made sure it was plugged in properly and car fired right up so luckily nothing broke. Always have been happy to talk about the failures unlike some other people that seem to hide them and not mention them so it makes it all look good all part of the adventure of these cars. Also hate steering wheel controls on track. 1st session 2nd session, mistakenly hit the phone call button on the wheel and ended up calling my friend π 3rd session mistakenly hit the voice activation button on this one last session go pro died on this one

Iβve got the option of the oil temp on the MFD and worked fine on the 1.6 but itβs never worked on the 2.0 was the only thing that Paul couldnβt work out how to repin on the ecu so it talked to the BCU properly. I did remember seeing 146 degree c once at Donington in the summer a few years back π

Finally got the oil temp gauge hooked up so more track days π Little trip here to test it out noticed it was running pretty cold due to the cold weather so friend was selling this to help block the oil cooler but it doesnβt seem to like the milotec grill.

Just one little change to it. Needle lights on the Rev counter, water temp and fuel gauge stopped working so a quick trip to Chris bellmanβs in Sheffield sorted that out with some new lights

pretty well documented how much it costs me π itβs ok to be jealous if i have spent more because the car has went through different stages over the years also itβs their not to there π

Or when some of us make the trip down to Perranporth which is similar to Crail itβs get how people make digs specifically at the car and me thinking it bothers me but you know youβre doing it right when youβve got haters and everyone knows the car π€ Me and the guys at darkside do have some good laughs over what folk comment about it π€

Been to pod plenty of times and yet they never turn up. thanks for proving my point about being too scared to come to crail because you donβt know power management or how to launch a car properly on a bad surface π

Oh look someoneβs upset that they canβt built their properly or even on time for an event so try to make digs thinking it will hurt me π₯² yet here I am with a working driving car π funny how the big power 1.4 boys are too scared to come to crail or show up for events but here we are. π

Sounds like someone is butt hurt because they wouldnβt be able to keep up π Could easily afford a mk2 vRS but didnβt fancy having a slower car if you go back to the previous posts youβll see that I bog it on purpose hence why I have the LC set so low but I can tell you donβt have a history around motorsport if you believe that spinning off the line wins races π€ gotta love these pretenders that think they know what they are talking about π€

Little test session yesterday, Me and Tomas from Darkside were doing some maps on saturday to get it in a decent position for crail on sunday. Also did some LC maps as well to see how that would go. Also a low boost map for the Mk2 Fabia vRS folk as we don't need high boost for those Plan was to use low boost and work into it. Crail is already an awful track but it seems to have got worse recently, Absolutely no hope of getting traction in 2nd on the strip but there is a test bit that we can use and the car was consistantly .7 of a second faster to 60mph compared to the track so power is still there. Can see in the logs i was shifting into 2nd at the 60 ft mark compared to 70ft like on previous runs to help control the wheelspin but no joy also Tom wasn't so happy when he seen my RPM logs π First 2 races were against a 400BHP Hybrid IS38 Turbo Polo GTi tuned by Ecotune. Saab 93 Peugeot 208 GTi Fiesta ST Stage 3 ST on drag slicks

So did some investigating to find out why the trap speeds were low the last time it was out, with some help from a couple of the guys at darkside and noticed injector devation on cylinder 2 was off. Pulled the injectors sent them down to get tested came back fine. Swapped the injectors around still showing issue in cylinder 2. Noticed it then started to use oil as much as a MK2 Fabia vRS does. Check the turbo seals all ok car still had plenty of power as it would spin the tyres in 3rd but oil consumpsion slightly concerning. Got bored and moved onto helping other folk with their projects such as 8 second passes at pod and drift cars. Thought id revisit the Fabia after the sessions had finished a couple of months back. Truck it on a truck and sent it down to Darkside who started looking into it and low and behold we found this π guess that explains the oil consumpsion issue then. Also always had an issue with getting 5th gear in the 6 speed box (used to have to double clutch it going into 5th) never really thought much of it but the guys at Darkside always like to make sure everythings perfect and right for the cars when they leave so they had a look at it and this is what we found. So one of the spare gearboxes from their world record holding Arosa drag car was swiftly stolen and stuck in the Fabia. And now it's came back home, Both me and Darkside are determinded this car isn't going to die π€£ back down in a few weeks for some extra custom interior bits

So Fabia decided to be retired from duties and ended up getting an Octavia 1.9 ALH which sadly lasted 13 days before someone never seen us stopped on the M8 in traffic and took out 4 cars and bent the shell on it, shame as it was a clean car with the BBS wheels on it. Ended up getting an E46 330D wagon but didn't like it so that got changed to a drift car and then got this Octavia Sport with the superior PD140 BKD over the 170. Bits of rush here and there but it's a daily, Bought it with the Touran wheels already on it. Not even had it 2 months and already put 10k on it, only been cleaned once. Took it to Crail this first weekend i had it to see what kinda of performance figures it would do. against a friends Astra GSI he said he would give me a headstart to the 60ft then missed a gear Then the changes started π Lights coverted over to LED's why can't all companies make the bulbs on these as easy to change as they are on these new style key RCD330 Plus Fascia so it fits better Citigo Monte Carlo Flat bottom steering wheel stickers Some subtle perforance mods as well. Trip to pod with MRC Tuning for Doorslammers back to crail after some changes against a PD150 1756 bora turned it up for this one just to make sure seems to do well as a daily

Another day at crail on Sunday. Trap speeds were down so seemed to be down on power but with full interior and no suspension changes it still did a 5.48 to 60mph and 13.680 @ 107mph my friends RX7
